I'm actually really enjoying it. These Neo Geo fighting games are all in the perfect sweetspot between accessibility and technical depth for me.
My skill is pretty low but my enjoyment is through the roof.

I bought Street Fighter 3 a week ago and have been playing Sean non stop.

SFV is just bad. It's ugly, has shit online, and even I can tell at a glance how low the game's design has sunk compared to the older games in the series. I could get wins online as a shitter, but it just wasn't fun doing so.

Every other game had players so wildly over my head that even though I had a blast at first getting rekt, doing literally nothing but grinding training and getting sodomized got old. I drifted back to other games as it became clear that I'd have to dedicate all my time to one game just to rise above training dummy tier skill.

I will try again with that upcoming DBZ game though.

What a bitch. SFV is easy enough that if you dedicate one or two afternoons to practicing you'll be decent. Even other fighters only take a bit more than that. You have to actually put a small amount of effort into grinding it though.
