What if they announce Breath of the Wild 2?
Odyssey
Honestly? Only if RDD2 or GTAVI are there.
Xenoblade 2
yes
It's too early for Zelda 2.
We don't even know if the Switch won't be dead next year
Basically, no. I only actually finished it a few days ago (been playing on and off since launch) and I'm struggling to get into anything else because fucking nothing comes close to being as good. How are you supposed to follow this shit?
>and I'm struggling to get into anything else because fucking nothing comes close to being as good
Imagine being this much of a fucking plebeian.
No, they'll be showing a preview of whatever the new story DLC is since that's supposed to come out this year.
Minecraft
Ocarina was never surpassed until BotW came out so probably not.
Majora's Mask
This is honestly amazing.
Imagine if the Switch was as powerful as Cemu.
Different strokes for different folks I guess buddy. The game really resonated with me in a lot of ways. Obviously there are plenty of good games I can and will play, but nothing is clicking with me like BotW did.
Is this the biggest hit or miss AAA game?
I could at least enjoy the other Zelda games, but I really don't get BotW.
It's a shame they built the game such that all the animations are shit are locked at 30fps. Have no idea why the fuck they did that. I can play Super Mario Sunshine in 60fps via Dolphin but will never experience a 60fps BOTW. At least the 4k texture packs make it look nice.
lol
>Can ANY game surpass this
XCX already did everything better than BotW. Plot, music, combat, bosses, quests, openworld, characters, performance, etc.
youtube.com
No. This was Nintendo's magnum opus to put them back on the map as a developer a cut above the rest and to send the Switch out swinging. It was also made on last generation's graphics, making it far cheaper than the current AAA crop. No other publisher has a business model like this, no other publisher can justify that kind of investment when they could be selling 20 million Battlefield 1's.
I think I'm loving it because I work all week now,
So I love how sparse and comfy it is for me to unwind.
I haven't touched a mission in 3 days, just goofing around without map trying to learn the places by heart.
They do it because it's a traditional way of squeezing a bit more out of the hardware. Japanese console devs have been doing it for decades.
>no japanese
>censorship
Kys
...
Sony's knock off version of this game of course!
Let's be real, XCX's world is as wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle.
just like breath of the wild
>let's be real with this old shitpost
k
>Sony's knock off version of this game of course!
Open world
The world doesn't react to you
Really makes me think
the witcher 4 or basically any other game since botw was garbage
not to the same degree as XCX
holy god damn shit botw is ugly
it looks like a fucking potato
Selling better than the Wii U, so there is hope. Although i can't see a great deal of third party support with the exception of indies thanks to it having different architecture to the PS4/Xbone
On the plus side "mid size" (the ones in between indie and AAA) games are getting bigger and better and hopefully they'll get ported.
i dunno
the overworld's design and aesthetic are fucking beautiful, but you can't interact with it like you can in BOTW
XCX's combat is a fucking blast in extended on-foot encounters, but kinda boring when dealing with trash and skell combat
the plot was interesting but feels unfinished due to the sequel hook at the end
the music varies between amazing and sawano trash, and the voice acting and character designs are fucking glaring
XCX does world design and combat better, but BOTW does world interactivity and gameplay better (it makes platforming fun, which encourages you to explore more)
Agent could.
at least it can manage grass physics
I just started playing XCX after recently finishing BotW. The open world isn't nearly as interactive, the music varies from passable to fucking awful, and the combat isn't nearly as fun. Don't get me wrong, the world is beautiful, the sense of scale is great, the monsters are cool. But the game nowhere near surpasses Zelda.
Nice try stevie wonder
>combat isn't nearly as fun
This is where you're wrong.
BOTW's dumbed down hack and slash gameplay doesn't come close to XCX's best on foot encounters. Even if trash and skell fights are done slightly worse, they're still superior.
the rest I'll agree with.
it still looks like utter shit
>but you can't interact with it like you can in BOTW
Stop that bullshit.
You can interact in BotW with a couple of special metallic objects, special boulders and some special cylindric trees. That's it.
You can't change terrain, can't burn the whole wodden area, can't do anything with water, or sand.
>it makes platforming fun, which encourages you to explore more
I have more fun exploring Mira planet on foot. BotW climbing and stamina-limited running between emptyness is a chore. Doll access adds another layer of awesomeness into XCX.
>what is art style
I would much rather take a game with an art direction than an overly realistic piece of shit
So does your opinion.
I guess I just like the immediacy of BotW, and the way it gives you a bunch of different tools and you're free to apply them however your imagination sees fit. XCX is okay and I guess there's more thought to it but you're basically just selecting an art and then watching your character do something cool rather than directly doing it yourself. Note: I'm not very far into XCX and still getting to grips with all the systems. I like how you have to react to soul voices correctly to facilitate healing.
BotW visual is gorgeous. Too bad everything else is a wreck.
>that's it.
Except for the whole climbing almost anything in the game, alongside actually gathering supplies rather than sparkles spammed on the ground. XCX doesn't let you interact with the environment at all, BOTW allows you to cut it down, climb it, burn it, freeze it, and grab shit from it.
>can't do anything with water
other than make platforms on it, cut down trees and make rafts, and spread electricity through it
>can't do anything with sand
surfing my man
You can cut down most trees unless they are super enormous
You can interact with any non-fixed boulder in the game (AKA pretty much all of them unless they are super massive)
You can burn down entire wooded areas, they actually will burn down without your help if the weather and physics interact just right
You can use water to electrify shit, or you can cover yourself in it to prevent getting lit on fire
Not sure exactly what you'd do with sand, throw it in someone's eyes...? Not a lot of options there
What other game have you seen where the weather and physics are so dynamic that you can actually figure out to use an iron arrow while facing a certain direction to line up with the wind to carry your arrow extra far, and then you time the show of the arrow so that lightning strikes the iron arrow (because it is metal) at the exact moment that it hits the huge monster gunning for you at the bottom of a mountain, and the only way you made the shot from horseback was using the fucking wind, thus zapping his ass into dust from a half-mile away?
None of that was a special fucking attack, no context sensitive bullshit, it was just a bunch of shit happening in the environment that you can piece together to take advantage of, because it all interacts and you can do shit like that. That's why BotW is better than generic open wurrld icon-chasing simulator
the same people worked on both games, people. what are you arguing?
Yes, Mario Odyssey.
>Too bad everything else is a wreck.
shut the fuck up faggot, this is the best game of all time you nigger
>What other game have you seen where the weather and physics are so dynamic that you can actually figure out to use an iron arrow while facing a certain direction to line up with the wind to carry your arrow extra far, and then you time the show of the arrow so that lightning strikes the iron arrow (because it is metal) at the exact moment that it hits the huge monster gunning for you at the bottom of a mountain, and the only way you made the shot from horseback was using the fucking wind, thus zapping his ass into dust from a half-mile away?
That rare occurred shit doesn't matter cause there is no point to fight in this broken game with broken weapons and broken game design at all.
>Except for the whole climbing almost anything in the game
This fucking climbing mechanic nullified any interesting terrain structures like in Xeno games. Every surface is a hill or vertical tower thanks to the retarded climbing mechanic.
You saw one region in BotW = you saw everything.
I'm so glad BotW and Xenoblade X exist.
>It doesn't count!
Keep seething
I guess BOTW offers an overwhelming experience to Nintenbabbies. Try to imagine, after years in isolation, playing nothing but PING PING WAHOO! and Wii Boxing...and then, suddenly, you get to play a discount Ubishit open world...
So yeah, it would totally be a mindblowing experience for me too.
But thank god I'm a PCfag. TW3 alone easily could finish a stack of BOTW for breakfast.
Jokes on you I'm a PC fag and this game on cemu is my favourite of the last 10 years
Fallout 4 VR
Pokémon mmo
>from a half-mile away?
>implying the draw distance is that good
lmao
I already forgot about BOTW. Do people still play it?
You are like a babby
Watch this
bloodborne, xdxd best game amirite
Yeah, game is packed with quality content, they still looking for it.
>these textures
christ almighty. Is that the Wii version?
except that just a few music were only "good" at XCX. and fuck that skell flying song on a eternal loop, really, FUCK THAT i hate that song.. that was the reason that i stayed on the ground for most of the time.
but oh boyo, what a game anyway.
Is that a indie game?
>guerilla
>with grass and bushes reacting to the player, they appear warped and it looks bad, let's not keep that feature.
>nintendo
>with grass and bushes reacting to the player, they appear warped and it looks bad, let's keep it anyways.
Shown at E3?
Yes, could happen.
Released in 2017?
Not a chance.
But breath of the wild isn't even the best game of the year
Ugh, sweetie, it's the game of the decade
You're lucky that the only better games came out in the 5th gen
It already did
