1) They did. The credits for 2.8 youtube.com/watch?v=E9YpdXDrqz4 recapped a lot of the disney romance moments, and it ends with a montage of sora and kairi. It shows their reuinion there and sets up obvious implications for kh3

2) He has aged. He's gone from 14 to 15. Could very well be 16 in KH3, but comments about the dimensions of sora's model being the same imply that he's the same age he was in KH2

4) Riku is alive and lost all of his edge. He is now basically another Sora

5) Barbossa? Oogie Boogie? Characters don't really die in Kingdom Hearts. It's weird.

You can't blame the Japs for the fact that the American VAs sound better. They tried fixing that in BBS and everyone complained.

The bad guy from the first game was just a heartless, not a full person. He looks human either because he had a strong heart or because he technically has two three hearts(more on that later). If you think this is bullshit, remember that Sora is technically a heartless too after he stabs himself at Hollow Bastion.

In KH II it's revealed that when a person with a strong heart gets turned into a heartless, the body and soul leftover turn into a separate being called a Nobody. The Nobody of "Ansem"(who is technically an impostor, not the real Ansem, but let's not open that can of worms) got together with some other powerful nobodies and created a group called Organization XIII, which are the main antagonists of the second game. Their motives are kind of nebulous, but basically they're also after Kingdom Hearts -- this time because they think they can get their hearts back and become real people again if they get it.

All the "spinoffs" deal with the true identity of this impostor, his origins, etc. and it's all basically a big mess of bullshit. Long story short, the story is now heavily implying that he's just the latest vessel of the original instigator of the Keyblade War, aka the "great battle over the light" Kairi's grandmother talked about.

The most recent game according to in-universe chronology talks about how when a person's nobody and heartless are defeated, the original person reappears. This is ironic when you consider that's all the Organization ever wanted, and tragically so when the Big Bad reveals that that "mission statement" was basically a ruse because he needed them for [mumble mumble masterplan mumble mumble darkness, probably].

tl;dr "Ansem" is just an impostor, that impostor is just a vessel, and the true antagonist is an older-than-dirt "ancient evil awakens" tier villain

The first one was actually clever enough to make the plot a series of stories set within events of Disney movies that related to the core themes.

From 2 onwards, most levels are anime characters searching for their current MacGuffin while a Disney movie plays in the background.

Second Form also can do Anti-Form's attacks.

It's not that hard to follow. Young Xehanort grows up to become Master Xehanort who possesses Terra to become Terranort who then splits himself into Ansem and Xemnas.
