I liked witcher 3 and it had some stunning vista type moments (kaer morhen comes to mind) but most of it didn't look that great in motion.
It might just be me but I think atmospheric effects and smart color usage is much more impressive visually than every texture having bonkers resolution.
I did not like TW3 but I would not say it's not beautiful
>another shitty bait thread
how do they find time to post these?
will they post it again? yes
yeah I'm saying its striking occasionally. I remember liking those bold blue water sources running around the city, and the design of the city itself was really impressive. I just remember being more taken aback by the strong colors and visual appeal of random areas in botw. When just walking around in W3 it was just grainy HD mess most of the time.
>any zelda game
>actually good
top kek
Botw looks honestly amazing.
I'd say BotW honestly looks better than TW3, simply because latter tries to strike a balance between exaggerated colors and shapes plus gritty realism, while BotW is heavily stylized.
Nintendo are smart enough to know that game development should focus on gameplay rather than grafiks.
And considering the tech it's running on, BotW looks gorgeous.
>this gutter nintendo trash
>competing against witcher 3
bait thread, baiting nintenbro faggots
kill yourselves
Never played a single Zelda game in my life. Why do y'all niggas like this shit so much?
Its the same reason wind waker still looks nice like a decade fucking later: style > graphics
I loved Witcher 3 + DLCs
I enjoyed BotW a lot too
They're both great games and look great in their own ways
>Never played a single Zelda game in my life.
Why do you make stupid questions then?
Surprise!
They're both shit!
Witcher 3 is fucking shit
I want reddit to leave
What's with these Witcher 3 vs BotW threads? Both are great games. Both look great in their own ways. Go away
No stupid questions. Only stupid answers. Like yours, since you answered with a question you fucking faggot
>What's with these Witcher 3 vs BotW threads?
Sup Forums cannot handle that Nintendo made another good game. The humiliation is too much for them. So they've been desperately trying to find someway to undermine the game. This will go on for years.
Zelda games are like the pinnacle of adventure games.
In this serie you have both the definition of the adventure-game formula and it's perfection.
With BoTW, they break the standards they followed since Oot/Alttp so well that it ight be the new standard for adventure games
You can't understand it without playing these games. Just try any Zelda game except the NES-ones (didn't aged that well, even if I still like them) or Skyword Sword then play BoTW
>breath of ubisoft
>better than TW3
c'mon now, son
Witcher 3 is a much better game in story, characters, music, world to explore. BoTW has better gameplay for autist, while Witcher 3 appeals more to adults with the drinking, whoring and subterfuge.
BoTW isn't even the best zelda game; it is still behind OoT and Link To The Past. I don't speak for all people but I'll remember Witcher 3 and some of its quests for decades. I've mostly forgotten about BoTW. I played it three weeks ago and I can't even recall the names of the side characters. But Triss, Yennefer, Gerald, Zoltan, Ciri, Dandelion will stay with me for practically ever.
it's just ironic that people try to bash BotW with the "i-it's Ubisoft sandbox game!!" memes, when it literally does EVERYTHING better than any Ubi title in past 10+ years.
Hell, even TW3's dev greatly praised BotW and its truly open design, which intrigues exploration not via quest markers and shit, but by making the world fascinating to explore.
>BoTW has better gameplay for autist, while Witcher 3 appeals more to adults with the drinking, whoring and subterfuge.
this is what 16 year olds seriously think?
>it is still behind OoT and Link To The Past.
I'm a huge OoT-fag, but BotW is seriously the first Zelda that rivals it. Even if its style is vastly different.
>even mentionint LttP in the same sentence
No idea why people still praise that WORST 2D Zelda of all times.
witchfags should be gassed
>console-Witchfags should be gassed
FTFY.
The people praising TW3 most often hate the books and TW1. Or don't even know they exist.
>this is what 16 year olds seriously think?
I'm a 33 year old adult, so yeah, it's what we think. Autistic kids love repetition, discovering their own fun and simply to understand concepts because they can't imagine being lied to, social interaction and alterior motives. As a kid I would have liked BOTW > Witcher 3 but I just can't be assed to be given a bland open game and told to find my own fun. Telling someone to make their own fun is what you tell kids when you want them to fuck off for 20mins.
Witcher 3 is an adult game while BOTW appeals to and was aimed at kids. Deal with it.
BREATH OF IRONY: The Thread
botw is not an ugly game, but it's not even in the league of Witcher 2 visually. "hurr durr kill yourself" is not an argument.
you have any facts about this
I love BotW, but why does a game like GR get hate when it looks incredibly better, and is basically just as casual but fun?
The lighting in Zelda is odd. In very specific times and scenes it looks great, but others it looks very faded and hazy.
Because GR is fucking horrendous when not in co-op due to shit AI, and it has like one thing to do and fight the entire game
Also its performance is horrendous and there are a multitude of game breaking bugs
Several years of lurking and posting in Witcher threads.
>*I* am an adult, so *MY* idea of adulthood is the only valid one!
You know what I call your kind? Delusional narcissists.
TW3 is already vastly inferior game than the first one in its own series, which I at the moment would rate just below BotW as well.
>Because GR is fucking horrendous when not in co-op due to shit AI
Not really an issue, you'd have to be a retard to want to play a multiplayer game by yourself in the first place.
>it has like one thing to do and fight the entire game
Not true though? Not like BotW has that much variety either.
> its performance is horrendous
Get a better PC.
>whats cherry picking
Eh. I'd say BotW is the better looking game.
But The Witcher was never my cup of tea.
>adults like games where you can drink and fuck whores
This is the least adult statement I've ever read in this shithole
>TW3 is already vastly inferior game than the first one in its own series,
Witcher 2 had stronger characters but only because you got to spend more time with them and their own personal problems for 40hrs. There aren't any characters in Witcher 3 that you spend so much time with. It's a tighter narrative with a definite goal but Witcher 3 still had better gameplay, story, more characters and most importantly, it had more avenues to tell their stories.
Flash backs, flash forwards, point of views, and character control allows a wider breadth of story telling. Witcher 3 is a great game that was cobbled together by people that know good writing. BoTW doesn't even hold a candle to it.
so nothing ok
>>better game looks worse
but witcher looks much better, are you fucking blind?
>BotW, the game that reinvented open ended narrative doesn't hold a candle to fan fiction tier fantasy tripe because muh adult themes
Witcher 2 was the absolutely shittiest rock bottom of the series so far, and I have no idea how you ended up talking about it in the first place. TW3 was a huge improvement, but still several steps behind TW1:EE
And again, comparing BotW to Witcher is again a matter of comparing apples to oranges. Yet modern consolikids only know those two titles, so they bang them against each other. That being said, in purely gameplay and freedom, BotW is way more engaging.
no you didn't shut the fucc up
You can reinvent a turd as many times as you want in the end it will still be a turd.
>follow the marker for 80 hours
>better
Witcher 3 is annoying to play with the HUD off, while Zelda is very manageable without it. That's a clear indication of which is the better crafted game.
How smart and adult, you sure know about video games.
Glad we can agree. This is a shitty argument and not worth discussing.
Because you know nothing about what you're talking about, you're overrating some generic fantasy tripe because you have never touched the other game.
3 looks quite shit 2bph, mate.
I played BoTW and loved the shit out of it. Never played a Witcher game and don't plan on it.
That said, console wars are the dumbest fucking shit. People are allowed to like Zelda and not Witcher. People are allowed to like Witcher and not Zelda. People are allowed to like both games, and people are allowed to like neither.
I myself prefer Zelda, but that doesn't mean that Zelda is the "better" game and that anyone who plays it has "patrician" taste. Stop shitting up the board with your brand-war bullshit.
I bet you actually have fun with playing video games, faggot.
>analogy is literally about feces
>calls other people's arguments shit
Witcher 3 is superior to Zelda in every fathomable way possible.
I get that Nintenbros are desperate for something to justify the Switch, but relax.
>a game released in 2007 looks better than breath of the shit
amazing
You didn't even enjoy Geralt's game, did you?
"better graphics" does not mean "more realistic"
Breath of the Wild has a nice hand painted style that looks really good, and is also good for performance. Nintendo knows that they can't win the arms race for the most powerful console, so they instead go a different direction entirely.
I haven't played the Witcher 3, but I know it's not as good. It's just the same old western RPG bullshit. Don't forget your crappy ass card game too.
It looks like shit, though.
You can argue "muh artstyle is more important than realism" but BOTW does both very badly.
Are you trying to justify your 60+ dollar game lmao
I got both for free and zelda is better
>actually breathing shit
>in every fathomable way
Yeah nah
You're a cunt
>everyone defending Zelda has post purchase rationalization
I can't imagine the PPR of a person that spent 1000+ USD in a gaming rig and has been discussing Witcher 3 for two years then.
lmao sonybro stay mad while Nintendo runs circles around you.
>I haven't played something, but here's my idiot weeb opinion
I pirated both, Zelda is better but not by much.
>oh no I ran out of arguments, better call him a sony shill
Why are nintenbabs so insecure
You know you'll never catch up to sony no matter what, so just give up.
>you'll never catch up to a console that took three years to get games and still hasn't gotten an exclusive above 94 in metacritic
Go play some uncharted nigger.
You know, I could buy you that console you want but don't have. Being over the age of 18, I actually have disposable income, so I can afford more than one. Just say the word, you don't have to lash out just because you want games for a system your parents didn't buy you.
>Nintendo are smart enough to know that game development should focus on gameplay rather than grafiks.
If they know why didn't they fucking use that knowledge when making BoTW?
>one room shitty shrines instead of proper big dungeons
>900 korok seeds to fill the half empty map
>3 kinds of copypasted enemies filing most of the map
>worse weapons/combat than w3
>worse combat than TW3
This is the absolute state of PC drones
>BotW, the game that reinvented open ended narrative
There was a narrative in BOTW? I must have completely missed it cause I read books, and I didn't see shit other than what was plainly told to you in flash backs. What was calamity's ganon's end goal or than destruction? Did he want to create his own kingdom for his own people? What future does Zelda plan to take the kingdom into now that Calamity Ganon is defeated?
Here you go user, this is your chance to prove me wrong. What was the narrative in BoTW?
>I must have completely missed it because I read books
>le books r for smurt ppl liek me meme
Not wasting my time, if you can't see how its narrative structure being open ended and through flashbacks allows for player agency first and narrative constraints second, there's no point in explaining what the narrative was.
