I'm the one that brought it up. Just looked into it and it's apparently because of the Nintendo contract that brought us Lost World and Boom. Now that that's up I wonder if they'll eventually do it.

Different audiences. The majority of Sonic's audience is full of 13 year olds who grew up on the modern Sonic games and make OCs, Forces appeals directly to them. They don't give two shits about Mania and Classic Sonic.

Mario's audience are families and normals who prefer simple games. The NSMB games are a lot easier to pick up and play and get into than the 3D Mario games.

Well a few months ago Taxman was hyping up the bosses on Sonic Retro by saying something along the lines of "I can't wait till you guys get to see the bosses". So I'm pretty confident that they're gonna be great.

I'm not saying I think it will be. I'm cautiously optimistic, and I think it'll probably be good. But it COULD be shit.

In release order, which is: 1, 2, CD, 3 & Knuckles. Also make sure you play the Taxman remakes of the first three, they're the definitive versions.

Try Bluestacks, an Android emulator for PC.

CD's on last gen consoles and Steam, 1 & 2 are mobile only, 3 & Knuckles remake NEVER EVER. Basically they add more content like more playable characters, widescreen, perfect frame rate, and in CD's case improve the collision detection and make the Special Stages a fuck ton smoother. I thought I couldn't either, but Sonic being a 1 button game really helped me get used to it. Give it a shot if you haven't tried them you might end up liking them.

Same dev team as Sonic 1 iirc. 2 and subsequently 3&K have more of the "fast" roller coastery sequences the games are known for. 1 is the slowest and dullest of the bunch and CD is more focused on exploring the levels if you go for the enemy generators. I think going from 2 to CD would be more jarring than 1 to CD. That said my personal preference in game is CD with the jp ost.

If they hypothetically add 2 Zones per game then I'd want Marble Zone for Sonic 1, Aquatic Ruin or Mystic Cave for Sonic 2, Quartz Quadrant for CD and Lava Reef for S&K. I'm hoping Sonic 3's stage is Hydrocity, I love that zone, Ice Cap or Launch Base would be a cool second choice though.

Yeah, they add some neat ass mechanics, especially Chemical Plant Act.2's and Stardust Speedway Past has my favorite music out of any Sonic game so that's going to be sex to the ears to hear Tee Lope's rendition of it.

NiGHTs: Journey of Dreams for Wii. Which was a terrible sequel

What's wrong with the Drop Dash? It helps keep the flow going and still takes skill to pull off correctly. Also we know it's at least longer than Generations (which had 9 zones).

Sonic CD's designs were only tedious because we had to go around the map traveling to the future/past, once you ignored those objectives they were pretty good.

After watching anons argue in another thread, for a second I thought this post was some anti-Sonic user trying to shit on the game with baseless lies and nitpicking before I remembered what the OP was about.

So far the level design has looked like Sonic 3 & Knuckles, you had multiple paths to explore but there's a clear way to go so the player doesn't get lost. I'm only worried about Stardust Speedway Past Act.1 since you know, it's from CD and the level design has been pretty truthful in some ways to the original when it comes to the base path.

If there is Super Sonic, there is a shitty final boss.
