Old School Runescape

I haven't logged back into my account in a long while and RS3 sucks ass. I'm planning on playing OSRS instead but I don't look forward to having to completely restart from the beginning. Any tips on how to do this in a both fun and efficient way because I can't stand mindless grinding.

there are some easy to knock out quests you can rush at level 3 for easy level gains. Off the top of my head Waterfall Quest is one that puts you at like 30 strength from level 1.

some grinding skills have been made more bearable like firemaking with the introduction of the wintertodt. More interesting things like it are to come for other skills like mining in the future.

for now just AFK boring skills while you watch videos or something. There's really no other way unless you want to give yourself arthritis and tick manipulate for fastest XP rates or bot.

Restarted like OP is on OSRS and holy shit, is it just the same shit. Literally just grinding your stats, and your given no gold and leveling doens't get you shit so you're basically stuck with a bronze sword and shield unless you want to waste time leveling up that other useless shit.

I plan on buying gold now that I have a good job and shit.

seriously, bot. I came back the middle of may with a fresh account and already botted my way up to 1,000 skill total. its still fun, just without all the autistic work. powerbot and freescripts are fine if you dont overdo it

Play iron man. Iron man means you can't trade with other players or use the grand exchange. It makes it so everything you do is actually an accomplishment.

try Sup Forumsscape if by long while you mean since it started going downhill, grind is shortened and plenty of people are willing to help out

You can get some easy attack levels hitting the dummies in varrock. The museum quiz nearby can jump start slayer and hunter.

I came back to this last year and I enjoyed it a bunch, I bought gold because honestly I can afford the cost of a sandwich to save hours and sperg autisticaly on the house nobody will ever see. the VG clan chat is usualy an alright friendship simulator while you grind. I just enjoyed visiting the world again and you can level skills pretty quickly if you put any thought into it

don't let the low playerbase get you down, we have a constant chat going so you can always talk to fellow Sup Forumsirgins or turn it off if you just want to put some tunes on and grind

Just don't wear all white at any point in the game, you will get permad

max is 200m xp and 99 is only 13m but your total xp in skill only reaches 6.5m at 92, not 96

Half exp is 92. However since you gain exp at an increased rate the higher your level is half the time of a 99 is usually less than 92.

I came back to it for a while last year. Eventually needed to bot to level up properly, as I have an actual life to live.

Even botting + playing the game sporadically wasn't enough to get anywhere or fully be immersed in the game. Had to give up eventually and go back to less time consuming vidya. Damn I miss MMOs...

In all honesty, if you know what and how to grind your skills already then you'll level up much faster than your first time. Just pop some music or a DVD and get cracking

In that case just go to osrs wiki page for tips on grinding and quests, it'll go by much faster

Grind out thieving and get 50 firemaking and then do Wintertodt until 99. Only takes like 30-40 hours and you make profit doing it.

Forgot to mention you'll get woodcutting and construction experience doing Wintertodt as well. From 50-99 you get like 700k wc xp and around level 40 construction for free.

Random events are still in osrs. They are long gone in New runescape

What happened to them? Is Nu-Scape really that fucked? I heard they took out the wilderness too

Random events were originally for bots, but when new runescape hit , devs took it out. In my rs3 account I still got some of the original random event clothes like the frog suit, and the camo pants and shirt

The quests and world are top tier.
Probably the only reasons to get back to the game, especially with these membership bonds.

Also wilderness was taken out, and replaced with revenants. Peoole complained and then rs3 got it back, however bounty hunter was removed and clan wars moves to a new location.

Start thieving for some easy levels and quick cash. Then Start woodcutting with an axe and then use that wood to start firemaking. Ideally do this until level 50 and then do .

Wintertodt should honestly be the immediate goal for any new account. Very easy to do, get like 300kxp/hr, and you will make money doing it. ~10m by the time you hit 99.

Man it really sucks starting over, I had nearly level 70 in all stats had like 30 quests left before I got my Questcape. I've just been fishing all day, it's really comfy.

When you're starting out/restarting from scratch, don't give a shit about efficiency just do whatever you please. Your only long term goal should be getting dragon slayer done, other than that just train skills you feel like training or do quests you have the requirements for.

Train agility for faster regen or buy energy potions (if you're only on a trial though buying energy pots is a better idea). And don't carry heavy equiipment unless you need to.

Also Zeah is probably the biggest, emptiest area in the game because the OSRS dev team has no idea what they're doing. Spending all your run energy and not even getting halfway to the next point of interest is pretty much a zeah-exclusive problem.

Please do not tell me you are fishing for money.

No I'm fishing to get my levels back up so I can do the one thing I actually love doing in RS, Quests.

Thats the hardest part of playing osrs. But trust me you'll get it all back and it'll be great

Nobody liked them so they removed random events in RS3. I think you can still obtain the rewards in other ways and they sprinkled the random event NPCs around the world as flavour NPCs.

In OSRS they kept them for the spirit of the game but eventually made them 100% optional and made the combat randoms NPCs you can fight in certain areas.

Fishing is shit money these days
