Why?

they got blacked

more like they got bland

because every other western company updated theirs too
they couldn't be left behind

back in black

new CEO is colourblind
So they made the logo monochrome

Every company is changing their logo from 3d to a more flat, simpler theme.

Because the left one had detail and shading. Some artistic merit.
They wanted to more accurately represent their product.

Minimalistic like that is the new trend.

They're old one was ugly anyways, looked like a malware program for windows xp

Because minimalism/lazy design is all the rage these days. Everything must be flat and boring.

I'm not joking, it looks like an aerial view of a piece of shit.

Guess they were going for accuracy.

They wanted to go with a black&white logo to draw attention to the racial divides in modern Western societies, and to start a conversation about how whites can begin to make up for the crimes of their past.

There was NOTHING wrong with the old logo, why did they change it?

Is bland and lacks soul. Just like their games so it fits.

xD

Same as google, the design trend is less gradients and minimalism.

Whether you like it or not, it's not for the lulz. Different devices and resolutions make gradient logos and small fonts hard to see and not look good for responsive design, this new logo will look good for all devices in the near future.

t. Graphic Designer that doesn't work at McDonalds

New logo is gash in general but that o fucking bothers me.

...

Well it's not like they couldn't have done that with the old logo

You devil, you.

Their old logo was shit.

most big companies are doing this stupid shit

>Ubisoft downgrading
What's the surprise?

>first is the best
huh

Damn that first one was some funky shit.

>Neogaf having """"fun""""
Oh oh, better watch out that you're not getting (banned) for that crazy picture you just posted you mad lad

because they are going to fucking kill themselfs

they see the world in black and white now

they should have kept the first one

diversity

86 logo would be good if the B was different

>got

first one looks retro more than 80s, second one looks 90s af

Will the minimalism meme ever fucking die?, when will designers realize these logos look like garbage?

Believe it or not, there was once a time when Ubisoft, just like EA was a very good publisher

This is the new era for the Ubisoft - they are back. New logo is just a formality.

it looks fucking atrocious
>generic flat "minimalist" redesign meme done in the most uninspired possible way
>looks like they fucking left the stroke caps looking shitty and not aligned properly, especially in the "o"
t. /gd/

>666

They made a deal with the devil

I don't believe it

Diversity

how are they "back"?

because gradients are SO 2004

Starbucks' is an example of simplification done right. It's an iconic enough design to be instantly recognizable with just the green/white combo and the mermaid, there's no need for the outer frame from 1992.

>1986
Vaporwave af
>1995
Best
>2003
Okay, wanna get more modern, I can accept that
>2017
This is where I'd draw the damn line if Ubisoft mattered to me

>Being an underage fuck

wew lad

you also forgot to add that the logo of Starbucks always looked like complete shit

this is what the logo is

It's a great logo, faggot. I don't even like Starbucks.

why even

I miss the old pepsi swirl, the new one is stupid and looks like a fat kid.

>'86
Would be popular today. Aesthetic as fuck.

>white power symbol
ok ubisoft what the FUCK

...

Ya know, I like the 1971 look. Considering the sort of people who go there, they might as well.

If they got rid of the sharp corners in the logo and the "O" in Ubisoft it'd look alright.
The edges are waaaaayy too offputting.

WHERE'S THE SOURCE

>Will the minimalism meme ever fucking die?
When the generation making them fucking die. The previous generation of the early 2000s had many companies put fucking gradients and sharp shine effects on all of their logos like it were a fucking flash animation because computers let them be so fancy. Now we have minimal detail, solid edge, soft gradient, lowercase text shit as a kneejerk opposition to early 2000s "put a fucking shiny gradient on it and make everything capital letters" logos.

We'll move on to some new bullshit fad for logo design in the mid to late 2020s.

I disagree, I like the edges, they bring something the spiral shape doesn't.

It has definition, as if it could be more than just a spiral. To me it looks like a bird's eye.

That's not to say it's great, but it's certainly not bad.

>that donut
ruined

>defending Ubishit

kekkus

Lol

>r*ddit

But then in 2505...

The new one is terrible and I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't hire anyone to design it but the old one feels so 2000's.

which part of "they used to be a good publisher but aren't anymore" did you miss, Hombre?

They try to start with a fresh look to try not being bought by Vincent Bolloré.

Look at the 2 previous years and it's clear they're trying their best to give "quality" games again.

Guillemots borthers need money to buy more shares of their company, Bolloré is launching soon the biggest assault to acquire the capital of Ubisoft.

whats the origin of name "ubi"?

>Look at the 2 previous years and it's clear they're trying their best to give "quality" games again.

You are trolling, yes?

Universal Basic Income

Well it's a french company but "Ubi" means "Where" in latin.

As in "Where are the all the games"

Well look at the 10 previous year man. Look at their sales.

Yes it's still Ubisoft, but they improved graphics, support, optimisations, content.

In a country of blinds, one-eyed is king.

In any cases it works since they upgraded their sales since the first Bolloré attack. I'm still not convinced by all their products either.

They started their new politic around Far Cry Primal.
