Oi, is it worth playing the second DLC for The Evil Within? The first DLC was great and explained the story way better than the actual game did, but I eventually just forgot to play any of the other ones along with forgetting the entire storyline of the first game besides the vague details here and there.

I believe in Shinji

So what the fuck is this series about? The trailer was some wierd ass shit. Does it play like RE4?

>Does it play like RE4?
The first one was basically a clunkier RE4 with more stealth mechanics, yeah.
Not that bad of a game though.

The first one did, sort of. It's basically RE4 playstyle with Silent Hill like monsters.

You also do a lot of running and hiding because ammo is scarce and most enemies are bullet sponges and you want your ammo for the bosses.

Its an action horror game with survival elements to be exact. Its aiight if you want a cross between RE4, SH and RE6/5. The ending is a bit shit but the DLC makes up for it. 2 has a lot of questions to answer for.

You mean leave Action horror to you. And I'm okay with that. "Survival Horror" games have been mediocre to shit in the last 15 years. With RE dead and Dead Space dead, bring on TEW2.

Mikami is dead user.

>Evil Within 2 was the best game shown across all of the e3 conferences
Not something I was ever expecting to have to say.

This E3 sucked. The only games I'm excited for are TEW 2, Dragon ball fighterz and the new Monster hunter.

I don't know dude that dragon ball game looks fucking amazing.

Wolfenstein looked okay too, even if its just more of the same.

I literally ran out of ammo halfway through vs some miniboss. Why am I so shit?

>With RE dead

What are you high? RE7 was great

You are probably not using your matches/one use items and arrows effectively.

Is this playable there?

That jizz dimension is a good excuse to not have to texture half the game.

Im intrigued at them bringing in more supernatural shit than 1, but im waiting to see gameplay

>RE7 was great

>barley any monster types
>First person
>Still action despite pretending it's not
>Shit shooting
>barley any puzzles that are also shit
>no replayability
I disagree. Not bad but very meh.

is he still working on this?

>They keep trying to advertise TEW, an action game, as a survival horror

Stop. TEW was a great game but it's not survival horror.

>vs some miniboss
which one.

>From mastermind Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within 2 is the latest evolution of survival horror. Detective Sebastian Castellanos has lost it all. But when given a chance to save his daughter, he must descend once more into the nightmarish world of STEM. Horrifying threats emerge from every corner as the world twists and warps around him. Will Sebastian face adversity head on with weapons and traps, or sneak through the shadows to survive.

That's from Steam and Wikipedia has him listed as a director.

Honestly it's such a small change but the jizz gives it a nice stark white colour rather than the generic black goo, favourite of horror media everywhere.

he's confirmed for executive producer, but it's unclear if he had any actual creative input, unfortunately

>barely any monster types
Legitimate complaint, I agree.
>first person
It's a camera angle, calm down, it worked for what they were going for.
>Still action despite pretending not to be
Outside of bosses there's hardly any enemies in the first place, it's mainly about exploring.
>Shit shooting
Shooting is fine for a horror game where the fights should be tense.
>puzzles are shit
Agreed.
>no replayability
I don't know man, I just finished my third run of the game recently. Item unlocks and harder difficulty with shaken up item placement and enemies is pretty nice.

>“The story we’ve crafted for you is very compelling,” Executive Producer Shinji Mikami says. “Each stage you’ll delve into is very unique. I hope people enjoy the game, and I encourage everyone to thoroughly explore the world.”

Eet eez aaaart

wikipedia doesn't even have a page for 2 yet.

They have a page for Shinji Mikami though, scroll down to works and he's listed as director for The Evil Within 2.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinji_Mikami

i really don't think it's true, he said before that TEW1 was gonna be his last game as director, sadly

>Wikipedia is a valid source for information
Hope Shinji brings back his A-game. Evil Within was shockingly rough considering his pedigree

Resource manage better. Seriously, it's better to die than to waste ammo

>Executive Producer
So the story might actually be very compelling. Cool.

I own the first one and never played it for more than 30 minutes. Seemed like the clunkiest RE4 clone. Should I try it again?
