The E3 trailer was already something we saw last month. They only added monster hit reactions because people complained that monsters werent flinching in the previous trailer.

Exactly. An example of something that's anime and good would be Toukiden 2 for example. Tasteful portraits drawn by Hidari, not edgy as fuck, good story and gameplay. This really does look like an edgy high shool weebs wet dream though.

Holy shit that looks fucking awful. His sword swings like it's made of plastic and has no weight to it whatsoever. Shit the enemies seem to think it's plastic too since it just kinda passes through them like they're butter.

You're right and they responded to it in the most recent trailer where things clearly have a lot more weight. The game has only been in development for a 6 months or so. They still are pre-alpha so they are capable of changing things.
