So, let's be honest what can we expect from the Switch Direct at this point? We know the presentation will only be 25 minutes long.

Seeing how Nintendo is still focusing way too much on the 3ds, it's a safe bet to assume that at least 5-10 minutes will be dedicated to the 3ds only.

That leaves us with 15-20 minutes for the switch at best. Now let's take a look at games that are practically confirmed to be showcased on the direct:
1. Splatoon 2
2. Arms
3. Mario Oddysey
4. Xenoblade Chronicles 2
5. Fire Emblem Heroes
6. Zelda DLC
7. Pokken

Now let's be optimistic and say they at most dedicate 1.5 minutes for all this games, that leaves us with 5-10 minutes for new announcements. Now let's look at games that will maybe get a short showcase:
1. Mario and Rabbids Battle Kingdom
2. Monster Hunter XX
3. SMT 5
4. Skyrim
5. Indie Games

So let's deduct roughly 5 more minutes, which leaves us with 5 minutes for new announcements at best. Is there even time for any significant game announcements? Announcements that could be possible:
1. Smash Switch (Slightly remasterd Sm4sh)
2. 2d Metroid/3d Metroid
3. Super Mario Maker DX
4. further new and interesting games -->What can we expect here, seeing how there's basically no time for decent length trailers?

I'm personally pretty satisfied with the games we are getting: Xenoblade 2, No More Heroes, SMT, Kirby, Fire Emblem, Mario Odyssey, Arms, Splatoon, Smash, Animal Crossing, localized Etrian Odyssey V, Radiant Historia and Strange Journey enhanced ports, Ever Oasis, Ultra Sun and Moon. But let's face it, unless they show a new Metroid this event is going to be pretty underwhelming mainly because we already know what they could talk about.

I don't see why anyone doubts Nintendo this year. Their new console sells out in 18 minutes in Japan and they have several games that we already know are coming out this year.

I think we have to recognize that if there were a Metroid on Switch, it would have gyro controls for aiming (optional and only if a first person game) or some sort of co-op using individual joycon if it's a 2D game.
