FUCK DRAGONBALL

How does King Crimson work?

He can see 10 seconds into the future. He can also 'erase' up to 10 seconds of time. Basically for up to 10 seconds everything but Diavolo stops existing. After those 10 seconds are up, things continue as per the future he saw before erasing. To everyone else, time jumps forward inexplicably and they suffer the results of what King Crimson predicted while Diavolo doesn't, because in erased time he got to move however he wanted instead of what fate decided. So if you got punched but it was erased, you'd go from standing up to lying on the floor with a sore face in an instant with no idea how it happened. If Diavolo was fated to be punched and it was erased, he'd be perfectly fine. That's it.

wow nice this is the best explanation i've read

But how does he choose to physically interact with objects/events in deleted time or simply have them pass through himself like during the segments with Nero and Narancia?

I like to think of it as more of he fast forwards time by 10 seconds, but already seen the 10 seconds before hand so he automatically knows how to dodge or react to everything that happens in those 10 seconds.

yes

...

The only time he actually interacts with things is with the blood trick. As for Narancia, that was when he was possessing Trish and happened in an instant. He erased time to confuse them, then threw Narancia onto the grate and popped back into Trish/Mista's body.

With the fight against Risotto, the things he sees in erased time aren't actually those things since they don't actually exist during that period, they're phantoms showing what they were fated to do in that time. So the bullets going through him weren't actually the bullets but a representation of them. He erased time before the bullets hit him, then continued it when they were past him so they WOULD hit Risotto.

The only time he actually interacts with something is when he throws blood in Polnareff and Giorno's phantom faces in the final battle.

According to the manga the time literally IS erased though.

But he doesn't need to. The event within space-time would be deleted along with all the time in-between also.

The disparity of information surrounding King Crimson is that we see Diavolo's Stand break it's own rules by physically interacting with objects within deleted space-time. Which is why this fucking thing still makes no sense even now over a decade later.

this is the best gif for explaining KC

Is that tattoos or a weird-ass fishnet type shirt?

Also the team who did the first translation misunderstood KC and kept insisting that their explanation was right despite people who could read Nip correcting them. Their explanation is still accepted by a ton of people despite being wrong.

it's like a fishnet shirt thing

Except Diavolo kills Narancia instantly with King Crimson's power near the end without anyone noticing at all, pretty much implying it happens IN King Crimson's effect.

Time doesn't read well in manga.

He could've just been fast, because stands

Fishnet. Diavolo is weird and dresses up his boytoy body double he shares a body with like a slut before going outside the house.

fast after KC time erase, I mean

Considering the fact that I haven't played a video game in years, what difference does it make to wait for their release before complaining?

literally nobody has pointed out

>tumblr filename

Sup Forums is dead. it's redditor central now.

Hasn't Araki admitted he hasn't entirely figured out how it works himself.

How does Soft and Wet work?

>Their explanation is still accepted by a ton of people despite being wrong.

It's been twelve years. Are you fucking serious?

>Considering the fact that I haven't played a video game in years,
Why are you even here?

No?

Nigga, it's Jojo. Crazy shit happens in the blink of an eye, or when someone it just looking away, that would take a lot of time to occur, but happens without the characters notice.

The events surrounding King Crimson and Heavy Weather are exactly the kind of stuff that normally happens in Jojo, but it's always those things that people point out and go "Now come on, that just doesn't make sense."

He gives em the bubble bubble bubble pop and it pops their bubble pop pop bubble bubble pop.

>bandwagoning anime memers

otherwise known as speedwagoning

Completely. At least the retranslation only has 12 chapters left so new readers won't have to go through this shit. It's still confusing but it's correct at least.

>this is all actually real

Holy shit, i didn't think Jojo's Bizarre Adventure went this in-depth with it's character powers later. I only just finished Battle Tendency.

It's not really that in-depth, thanks to bad translations and stubborn idiots, King Crimson's power has just been highly contested, which has caused people to literally write whole essays trying to explain it, many times they just explain their own head cannon and are wrong, when the reality is the power is just "Erases time"

>The author himself doesn't know how his characters powers work

He can steal physical phenomena with his bubbles. So stuff like friction, sound etc, as well as stuff like oxygen. He can use them to carry stuff too, and they have mild explosive power inherited from Killer Queen too.

Niggas you dumb. The whole point of KC and those arcs is that "fate" is set to everyone but Diavolo. Giorno's body (with Narancia's soul) was fated to be impaled on those fences. KC simply erased time directly into the final action.

Same thing with "How did Diavolo steal Trish from Bruno and escaped the elevator shaft in 0.5 seconds?"

Because he would steal Trish and run down the the elevator shaft anyway, he simply skipped directly to the end.

King Crimson is as complicated as it gets, and it's not THAT complicated when you grasp it it's just been translated poorly for years. This was written like 20 years ago though, so it's hardly modern. Besides D4C and Made in Heaven (both the Stands of main villains) the powers aren't anywhere near as complicated as KC.

There aren't really any indepth powers in the series, just specific powers being used in numerous ways.

YEAH STOP GENERATING NEGATIVE PRESS FOR OUR GA- I MEAN THOSE GAMES!

Made in Heaven isn't that complicated aside from the universe-ending shit, but even then it's not THAT hard to understand.

Oh god, this bullshit again. Can you please fuck off back to Sup Forums with this head canon explanation.

>Made in Heave: Controls the gravity of the universe to speed up time for everything except living creatures
>D4C: Trapping people and things between two objects pushes it into another dimension. If two or the same thing meets in another dimension, they fuse and explode.
It's not at all complicated.

Can Tusk Act 4 beat Gold Experience Requiem's ultimate defense?

I thought King Crimson was Cause and Effect?

King Crimson removes the "Cause" (a punch or a bullet) leaving only the "Effect" from the missing event in space-time in it's wake?

This is correct except he can hurt others.

He can't.

I agree, it's just that most people ignore all the details then go 'HURR IT RETCON ED WHOLE SERIES WAHH' when if you pay attention all it does is change 6 since Pucci never existed, so Jolyne never went to prison and Jotaro was more chill during Parts 4 and 5.

Part 2 is best part, tho.

After extensive discussion, I have concluded that no, Act 4 wouldn't beat GER, since GER can render the initial shot from GER back to 'zero' and thus the infinite golden rotation would have no way of reaching it's target.

>D4C: Trapping people and things between two objects pushes it into another dimension. If two or the same thing meets in another dimension, they fuse and explode.
Explain how everyone shot Johnny at the same time. I've read that part 10 times and I've concluded that it just doesn't make sense given his power. Fucking Araki.

No that's what the old translations said, it's been corrected now since competent people retranslated it. See

Damn, so Giorno still has the strongest stand.

>can hurt others
>exact he can't and doesn't
Every time he waits for the skip to end before going for the blow or splashing blood. If he could attack, he would easily do it.

Nah. It's good but later Parts did everything better. 8 is fucking bonkers atm and is really well written.

no.

Dimensional switcheroo. Everyone was hunting for the president, and each other. All Funny did was move some people around, hide some things just out of sight, and slip between dimensions, until everyone thought they were shooting him, but in reality, they were shooting Johnny. It's not an issue with t he power itself, it's just Araki's really stilted story telling method for that scene

Araki sees things in different ways to normal human beings. I'm not even joking, he is off his fucking tits.

So anything that is supposed to happen is just considered "fate" now and Diavolo is essentially cheating "fate" constantly with his powers thematically? That's strange.

That's what makes JJBA so enjoyable, Araki makes up his own shit as he writes and we're all just along for the ride.

>Because he would steal Trish and run down the the elevator shaft anyway, he simply skipped directly to the end.

So he forced his way into the elevator, cut off Trish's arm, carried Trish out of the elevator and went to the bottom floor in the elevator all in 10 seconds? And did all this without Bruno moving from his position? I call bullshit.

based LSD tripping manga author

Yeah there's a reason he's never tried anything like Requiem since. The closest thing was Made in Heaven and that required a lot more planning (23 years rather than 24 hours notice) for something that actually had weaknesses.

>but in reality, they were shooting Johnny
Nope. It's mentioned that bullet holes indicate he was shot by a single person, yet the pages show all three shotting him.

To complain, obviously.

>all in 10 seconds?
KC has very little range, in terms of how far it can move away from Diavolo. Short range stands are faster and stronger than other stands by a decent margin.

He's still a pretty smart dude, though, so it's still written pretty solidly at times and most of the "asspulls" in later parts are just characters being absurdly smart.

Like Jolyne giving Emporio Weather Report's Stand disc and him later using it in a way that put Made in Heaven's powers against Pucci. Emporio didn't just pull that idea out of his ass, he's just genuinely smart as he couldn't do anything in his life apart from read books.

NO SOME OF US HAVE A FULLY FORMED PREFRONTAL CORTEX AND ARE CAPABLE OF HIGHER THOUGHT, THUS, HOUSE THE ABILITY TO INTERPRET STIMULI AND INFER BASED ON THAT INPUT

>that image
>this thread

okay picking up jojo as of now

Yes that's what he's doing. The theme of Part 5 was the inevitability of fate and death; Diavolo had the ability to cheat fate and he used it for his own gain at the expense for others. Bruno and his gang were all born into shit circumstances with no way out and were forced to do evil things to survive because of men like Diavolo. In the end, although dying in gang conflict was inevitable, they died for a just cause and got Giorno into power to help him undo Diavolo's evils. Instead of wasting their life trying to stop the unstoppable, they accepted fate and did the best they could while Diavolo ran from it and used other people to climb higher while suffering none of the drawbacks.

It gets way worse than that. Someone turns the entire population of Florida into snails through subliminal messaging because the KKK killed his girlfriend

Best thing about Araki is that even when putting silly, ridiculous shit in his story he still manages for it to make sense, taking his own story seriously even when having comedic moments. One of the main reasons I still love JJBA, he even manages to make Jotaro not eclipse over everyone else with his op as fuck time stop.

a cowboy needs to stick his fingers in the nose of a french guy, because a manga told him to.

Who was also his long lost sister, and their brother is a priest in training who is best friends with a vampire.

that is the bad translation, to fully understand it you need to realise how his substand and fate tie into the ability

...

And the characters are all likeable despite not always having a good amount of characterization.

Underrated post

dont let people dissuade you. its amazing

>mob gangster doesn't obey the laws
Hmmm... who would've thought?

Diavolo did little wrong and certainly didn't deserve his fate. He acted like a regular mob boss, controlling business, assassinating people and selling drugs ect. If people join a crime syndicate they should expect laws to be broken within the gang.

>muh drugs
>muh children
Fuck you Giorno, become a cop or something. Such a weak motivation. Diavolo only had the gang gunning for his head simply because they didn't like his business practices and decided on murdering him because of it. He didn't force people to buy drugs, he sold them because they were in demand. A fate worse than death is undeserving.

Best Jojo, best villains, story is focused, short and sweet. Only actual minus of Part 2 is that author decided not to kill Jojo (still don't know how he survived).
Didn't like Part 8 that much, we'll see how it ends. Its halfway now, as i understand?

ORE WA STANDO DA

Even better, there's some heavy Romeo and Juliet with a touch of incest.

Black Twin Brother gets kidnapped at the hospital when he's a child, raised by an interacial couple, falls in love with a girl,
which turns out to be his sister. His twin brother (now a priest) discover all this, hires thugs to lynch his brother so he stops dating his own sister.

The thug group are actually members of the KKK, and they lynch his ass and left him hanging. His gf (sister) desperate with the situation throws herself off a cliff, but surprise,
he survived the hanging and sees his dead GF.

What the fuck am i reading

This is all legit?

>not the entirety of this fat fucking alpha's arc

Look up Jojo out of context in google.

>brother is a priest
Gay priest.

A crippled jockey (don't ask how he gets on the horse) has to find the parts of Jesus Christ's corpse around America and keep them from the president so he can walk again
