I actually think it might be quite interesting. Post apocalyptic slavic world could be pretty new (especially for burgers). It definitely won't look anything like Fallout.

I just want the experience that you get like in the original 2033. Your first trip to the surface alone and it's a truly frightening experience. You can hear Artyom struggling to breathe, distant monsters growling, things creaking and every so often you nervously look at your watch to see how long your filter has to go.

Didn't get that in Last Light. The game was brighter overall and you don't get sound effects on the same level of quality. Stealth was also tremendously broken.

Seeing that they've kept the same watch as the one in Last Light doesn't fill me with confidence.

You're not totally correct on this one.
Stalker's locations are mostly about post soviet abandoned shit. There's nothing post apocalyptic about it really. You could get into industrial part of nearly every post USSR city and see the same shit as you see in STALKER.
Abandoned villages and destroyed churches on the other hand could be actually something new, if approached correctly.
