it's a fucking PC, with a free win10 operating system. You don't even need to support microsoft by building a gaming PC and most PC gamers don't even do in any way.
Sure on the Win10 store they are the ones who sell the games but that's hardly a big deal considering that hardly anyone uses it and they have to push games to steam to actually sell copies.
The real problem with the ""microsoft exclusivity"" is that it makes one of their platform (the xbone) absolutely useless . It's not like Wii U and a 3ds, where both platforms have their own different games and their own values of owning them but they still belong to the same company. Here they are literally competing againts themselves by making people rather ignore the xbone and build a PC, buy 98% of the games from the cheaper Steam and rarely use the win10 store.

The Skyrim VR was a good example. They could have hype people up like crazy about how immersive it will feel but just watching the gameplay without any commentary felt fucking boring.
