The more I see the more I like it. Last years E3 trailer and showfloor demo concerned me, but what they showed now really brought back my interest.

I saw the devs show up at the PC gaming show, but missed what they said. Is it getting a real PC release or just a "play this xXxBoNexXx game on your windows 10? I'd get it but I'm not sure I feel like changing my OS just for a game.

Please one of you tell me what you find so appealing about this game? I'm not trying to be insulting or anything, i just don't get the appeal, it was easily one of the most boring demos i've seen at e3. Help me here, i want to understand what i'm missing.

My exact thoughts. I was expecting them to clarify that but they didn't. I'm guessing you get better ships, weapons and stuff but not a single word about it.

So this game you have multiple people on a boat together, and in Skull and Bones you each get your own boat, right? And the boarding is automated?

the gameplay does look a little dull, but exploration with friends seems to be the focus so i will give it a shot

I like to play at least half of my library of games with someone else. The biggest draw for me would be the fact that it's everything I want out of a pirate game that lets me play with a "crew" composed of my friends.

It looks like it takes the elements of AC:BF with Guns of Icarus, and that is fucking dope. What I want is to be able to sail the seas with my fucking drunk as fuck friends while we board ships manned by 15-year-olds and then bomb them.

If the game delivers on that, then I'm sold. But if it's bogged down by tedium and bullshit then I'd rather just play some other co-op game.

I'm optimistic about it. Kinda salty about not getting in the closed betas, but maybe in the future. Too bad that I don't have friends who to play with. And even worse I might have to play with Sup Forums and /vg/.

It's for Windows 10, so it's on PC too.

Honestly, if it wasn't on PC I wouldn't even consider it.

Be a pirate ofc. Sure it seems simple, not incredibly brutal and cutthroat with giant sea monster and spirit boss battles, but we don't get many good pirate games. Last one I enjoyed was Sid Meier's Pirates.

Was really let down that Skull and Bones turned out to be world of ships, too. Thought we were entering the dawn of pirate vidya.

You can say that about everything Microsoft has shown in the past two years. People meme it up how MS had a shit conference, but for me it was pretty good since I didn't have to think about getting a bone but knew I could get them on PC.

Looks pretty fun. It's less absurdly ambitious than No Man's Sky so it actually has a chance to be good.

Gameplay was boring but then I saw the garbage that Ubisoft is making with pirates so I think it's better in hindsight.

Quake has satisfying gameplay. Sea of theives has mothing of the sort from what was shown

As a pirate it would be for the sake of getting rich. But with the costs of maintaining a ship and happy crew, there were probably relatively few pirates who got to retire.

Also, I imagine a bunch of folks did that shit for the rush.

It's a pretty good game. They also got a real nice community going on since uncooperative cunts bring ships down and can't play the game.

Don't know about their more recent release, they made a large expansion.

Right now they just spawn you in with random quests for random chests that might be legendary (usually has a curse on it)

Ive been in the alpha for a few months. They might still be taking applications for it but im not sure.

Yeah they drop you in a pretty large world with other random ships. Randomized island locations.

The world feels massive especially on the open sea but the combat does feel slow and the swordplay isnt very satisfying right now. Your better off using the shotgun all the time.

different genres. comparing blackwake to sea of thieves is like comparing tf2 to left4dead. sea of thieves is more about adventuring as a pirate, whereas blackwake is combat focused

I hear you bro, I badly want a good pirate game. I fucking loved SMP back in the day, but I'm just not feeling this. I get a much more piratey vibe off of Black Flag than this.
I definitely feel you on Skull and Bones. I got way too excited when it first started than it just got worse and worse as the trailer went on.
