I just wanna know how the fuck he got there.
They mentioned something about "realms" and shit so I imagine each pantheon runs their own shit and Kratos just bounced the fuck out of there.

Probably reaching, but I wonder if Jormungand having the same/similar coloring to Kratos will end up meaning anything.

that axe isn't the only weapon is it?

>the giant world eating snake wants to help

Should be fun.
No.

Every game has had multiple weapons, and they generally only show off the main one.

A shield has already been shown off.

Why would it be Loki?

So the general theory is that Kratos is Odin and his son is Thor, right?

Seeing how him unfurling is what initiates ragnarök, it makes sense that he would be willing to kill gods with Kratos. It's what ragnarök is all about, after all.

Maybe because of the horns, but the golden eye patch makes me think otherwise.
I'm just guessing after all.

I really don't understand why they made it a God of War game. Why not make a new IP?

Gameplay looks a lot better than I thought it would be. It seems to be in the spirit of the series at least.

Fuck no. Kratos's son is Ullr.

Loki doesn't have horns or a horned helmet traditionally.
Odin does, though.

I see you've been playing Smite.

There is bound to be at least one more - most likely a NOT Blade of Olympus weapon.

Mimirs head maybe? I just hope it isnt the same plot from the trilogy. Thor and Balder are not exactly evil gods that need to be guttered

My bet is that it's gonna be a big hammer.

No, Ullr is a Norse god that wields a bow. They may combine Tyr and Ullr in one character here. Though the name of Kratos's son is Atreus it seems they'll twist the hell out of the mythology.

Think of that Hercules episode where he meets Thor but on steroids.

That scene made actually made me laugh out loud a little. I also laughed at the World Snake scene.

The realms are physical, Kratos just travelled north after whatever happened in GoW3.

Oh shit its another God of Cuck thread.

>most likely a NOT Blade of Olympus weapon.
I hope that this is just speculation

>Ragnarök is supposed to leave two human survivors to repopulate after it

Who's willing to bet those two will be Kratos and the woman seen in the trailer? The boy will probably die to sour Kratos' "victory" once again.

Are we gonna go up against the nordic gods or no? Answer pls fucking Sony, this is a deal breaker.

OP here.
I want to show my theory on how is Kratos alive.
>inb4 pic related
In GoW2 you kill a Phoenix after you kill a kraken.
In the ending of GoW3 there's a drawing of a Phoenix on the floor where Kratos "died".
So maybe, there was a spell or some shit that made Kratos survive. He has a scar on his stomach on the new God of War, so he definetly didn't rose up form his ashes literally.

So that's why I think Kratos is still alive.

Can anyone make it out what's happening in the background? Looks as if something is chained up, maybe the underworld?

This is of course all speculation, but I'm thinking that man might be the ferryman across the River Styx.

>gods kill waifu and carve an eviction notice on her corpse
>K-dog goes kill crazy again
It's gonna happen.

>gasp

"Daddy! Ohh!"

>exhale

holy shit never noticed that

I predict we will kill this guy and get his sword.

He doesn't get the white ash skin until after he slays his family. This is shit. The creators don't even know their own story

Didn't Kratos get that scar the first time he died? Or when he got his shit fucked up at the start of GoW2?

>In GoW2 you kill a Phoenix after you kill a kraken.
You don't kill it, you merely hop off the ride to get into the Lair of the Fates.
Kratos' end has been always dubious until now. I personally think that ending what he started by throwing himself out of a cliff only leaving a trail of blood was a better option than a sequel/reboot.

...

>Kratos brings about the end of another realm and loses that which is most important to him

I really hope this is the case. Nothing's better than a circle of tragedy that repeats itself.

What are you on about?

I can't unhear Teal'c

I'm guessing it's got something to do with the dwarves of Nithavellir. They're the folks who made the binding that Fenrir is fettered with.

Glowing eye makes me think Balor

Is this not before he is the god of war?

Maybe you should tweet to Cory asking if we get his sword lol.

Are people really having doubts about this? They slap you in the face with it at the end of the trailer, the World Serpent brings Ragnarok.

Not big enough

After. He left greece and ended up in scandinavia.

Too small.

I dont have a twitter account mate

No, haven't you been paying attention? It's a bonafide gow4

No

pretty sure it's after

>It's another "you get an useless weapon like the sword of Artemis" episode

I like how they made the physics and chracter model more Soul-like-ish, it looks dope.

My enjoyment of the game lies on the possibility of shoving Thor's mjolnir up his own ass.

I have not. I thought it was some shitty last of us clone with kratos thrown in

>can Kill Zeus
>struggles against basic Nordic monsters

Shouldn't Kratos just be able to steamrole any challenge in his way at this point?

I don't mind the cinematic take as long as the game is still filled to the brim by frantic, violent combat. And of this I am worried. The combat shown during e3 didn't look bad, but it did look slower and the focus definitely seems to be on story this time around. If they're going to make a story heavy game based on norse mythology I would much rather have Kratos removed and instead have a norse hero.

It could be long as fuck. That's what it's defined as. So long it can reach around the world and bite its tail.

forgot pic

OP here again.
You are right, he didn't kill the pheonix, but maybe realising him would mean somthing because I don't think that inscription of the pheonix on that floor is not an accident.

Also it's not implicit that he throws himself, I personally think that he's taken by somebody.

>magic runes
I sure as shit hope so.

In the original trilogy, he was always either juiced up considerably by Athena or the god of war himself.

He has no divine backing now, though obviously some of that power he once had rubbed off on him.

>He is old
>He has a shitty axe instead of better weapons like his blades
>He gave up his hope.

Why does that little rat gotta be with you the whole game? This is Last of us with a God of War skin.
No
thank
you

What's the reason for Kratos to go rage mode on the norse gods?

Aren't they usually pretty cool guys? Or are they massive assholes like the greek ones?

I'm not saying it's inaccurate, I'm just saying it would have looked better if it was bigger

It's not difficult to bullshit some explanation to make sense of it, but I figure it's best to wait and see.

Now there is no hope.

He literally punched a giant troll in to a building in the reveal.

Judging from the combat footage, he is actually pretty useful and seems to be an integral part in setting up combos.

Oh i'm sure he'll get his blades back before the end. You can't have a god of war without his blades.

No doubt he's old and sad and retired them, and then when shit gets real, he'll wistfully pick them back up, and blend monsters into paste once more.

>calling little kid in as a striker
rad

Also, I hope we can throw the child

He's power was like... realeased to the sky when the he "died" at the end of GoW3.

This one doesn't look that terrible, to be honest. I was expecting cinematic walking simulator garbage.

That's what she said!!!

How did they make the serpent sound so imposing? If you've got good headphones, his speech is fucking intimidating.

Say what you want, that big ass snake looks spectacular, specially before it rears up.

I want to climb it.

It varies. They're sometimes alright and sometimes less alright. Overall they're probably a nicer bunch than their Greek counterparts.

The combat gameplay from the first gameplay was fast tbqh.

IIRC he gave up all of his god-like power when he impaled himself with the Blade of Olympus after the final battle in GoW3. I mean he's still a demi-god and strong as hell, but nowhere near the powerhouse he was in the original trilogy.

The little kid jumps around like motherfucking Yoda during combat and zap enemies with lightning strikes. Would be nice if they set him up to be the protagonist in future games.

>Move to Scandinavia
>Be doing some nord shit in there, find a qt wife and fug her, cucking the floaty spirit of Lysandra.
>Raise son until 10 more or less
>See giant snake that son is able to identify
>"What is this, lol?"

Kratos is now hopping trough mythologies, right?

Kratos now battles a being from the mythology of your culture, how rad would it be?

Kratos hammering down Sací Pererê with his only leg would be cool

Nobody wants to hear your poo poo linear games bullshit. Not everything can be open world, and not everything should... seriously, there are a fuckton of open world games right now.

Plus, Kratos.

>almost every gow game has a giant monster screaming or saying something in a low pitch voice
they got the experience

My knowledge of Norse mythology is kinda limited.

Take this giant for example. Is it just some random giant or a Norse God or something like that?

There were obviously Fenrir and Jormungandr in the trailer which I guess also means Loki is in the game as well since he's their father, right? Anything else you fags noticed or wish for to be included?

I'm almost certain kratos is going to throw the child.

>press square meme repeated into eternity
>a different battle system is made for 4
>"NO I WANT OLD GOW BACK"
I don't even care that much about these games but the reception of this one has been hilarious to me

get METROID BABY . AND SELL THAT SHIT BALD PUSSY PIECE OF SHIT

I'm Scandinavian, so it's already pretty rad.

Walking.

Ohhh I want to fight that giant thing.

I hope I can fight the giant.

I wonder if there's any particular reason why they haven't shown any gods yet. But maybe they just don't want to spoil any boss fights while there's still almost a year until release.

I really hope there's something in this God of War that's technically insane.

How in the fuck did they pull this off?
>when the camera pulls out as far as possible and shows you a fucking Titan and then flies back in and seamlessly transitions back to gameplay
youtube.com/watch?v=L3IDDs0vzn4

Giants are normal in Norse Mythology. That said it also has a titan of creation which body was used to create the world. They could make that corpse either I guess.

Kratos with a kid is death to his character.

KRATOS WILL BE ODIN

>severed head
>one eyed man

Don't tell me...

world serpent is a god
fenrir is the wolf

It would be overkill to have him fight a mortal, even if said one was the motherfucking Cid.
Also, some versions place Geryon's battle against Hercules in here. We had Geryons in GoS and they were kinda lame.

The director says some of the bosses in the game will be the biggest in the series. That means bigger than the titans.
