Never played a Wolfenstein game but the reveal for the new one interested me so I bought New Order on a whim. Gonna' start it as soon as it finishes installing, what am I in for?

fun

Pretty decent gunplay.

jump scares

>what am I in for?
cinematic melodrama trash that Xbox kids praise to heavens. Even worse butchering than nuDoom.

shitty COD knock-off with MUH STORY MUH FEELS MUH STRONK DIVERSITY MUH GOD'S CHOSEN PEOPLE BEING THOUSANDS OF YEARS MORE ADVANCED COMPARED TO THE EBILI NAZIS YET GET HOLOCAUSTED BY THEM

it's utter fucking libshit wet dream trash

Killing Nazis and ancient Jew magic

killing nazis with akimbo rocketlaunchers on the moon

You just don't like videogames any more, old man.
The sooner you come to terms with that, the happier you'll be.

Holding two keys to lean. I decided not to replay for 100% because of this.

Honestly you should play it on normal to get a true wolfenstein feel. Otherwise it's mostly a cover shooter.

It's fun, somewhat long for a single player FPS.

Btw Choose Wyatt even if Fergus is a much better character

Not only is it a breath of fresh air for story-based shooters, but for just shooters in general.

Killing lots of Nazis and occasional cyborgs. Also a fairly good, if at times predictable, plot.

>spoiler
I agree, and I chose Fergus my first playthrough.
If I had known I could swap out autism: the character for Jimmy Hendrix, I would've picked Wyatt in a heartbeat.

Just watch someone play it on youtube. I can't imagine it's anything other than a linear shooting gallery.

POS. Pirate it or buy it on sale (90% off)

got it right.

>mfw the jew tries to get credit for nazi science.

great gunplay
great weapon variety
well written characters with belieavable motivations
a finely crafted world
my gunfu (pic related)
the best FPS released since the original Half Life, pretty much

I wouldn't even call it a spoiler since it happens in the first 15 minutes of the game.

I chose Fergus on my first playthrough because I'm a sucker for "LE CRAZY GLASCOW MAN XD!" meme, and plot wise it felt better, but the Fergus reward is shit, why would I want to make armor pickups worth more?.

Also, the moral thing to do was to save Wyatt, Wyatt was a young, scared unexperienced soldier, Fergus knew what he signed up for and he understood that sacrifices had to be made.

I'm a polfag and not even I get this fucking butthurt over a game in a series WHICH THE WHOLE PURPOSE IS KILLING NAZIS

I swear, you faggots are as bad as SJWs.

A CoD campaign with roboNazis. It's pretty generic pop-a-mole gameplay. It's not the least bit old school despite what people have told you.

Don't spoil yourself as to the later levels that you end up visiting, but you end up fighting Nazis in some incredible locations, including one great sequence on a bridge. As for the rest of it, expect great gunplay, a story that is surprisingly good, and levels that are far more open ended than they appear. If you think you've seen everything in, for instance, the second level (the asylum,) and you haven't gotten into the attic, you're just missing out. Definitely worth a buy.

If you enjoy the game, check out The Old Blood for even bigger levels (thanks to the lack of a seventh-gen version) and another great sequence on a cable car.

Fergus gives you the health boosts, not Wyatt. Besides Jimi Hendrix, there isn't much of a reason to save Wyatt.

Been playing it slowly and while I liked it at first, it's getting less and less fun the further I get in the game. Find myself being forced to take cover and use safe strategies instead of running and gunning which is boring as hell. Maybe I'm playing it wrong or Uber's a shit difficulty mode.

fun as fuck arcadey shooter with a surprisingly good story that sometimes takes too much spotlight

also nazi blood and guts everywhere

Don't play Uber, especially not your first time through. There's no special reward beyond the achievement. I like the game a lot, and even I admit Uber is a chore.

The day you burst out of your delusional, shit-eating bubble will certainly be a shock for you.

And no; I still like video games the same kind of games I always have: the GOOD ones. The type that don't patronize the players and are actually engaging.

its too easy
on uber its a fucking breeze to just mow down everything
modern shooters were a mistake that needed to be aborted

>I can't imagine it's anything other than a linear shooting gallery.
obligatory stealth sections

No, Wyatt gives you the health boosts. Fergus gives you higher armor pickups

Nah, you're not. Pretty much every difficulty above the easiest forces you to take cover all the time. Like I said: it's a fucking CoD clone

Scratch that, I just read that Fergus does in fact gives you the health boost. I got confused, I chose Wyatt on my first playthrough

this. playing it after nuDOOM was a fucking chore, i was able to keep some of the run and gunning on death incarnate but god i died a ton near the later levels

Alright guess I'll lower it

>well written characters with belieavable motivations

DOOM

A sexy videogame.

Killing Nazi scum and a surprisingly solid story for a wolfenstein game.

Game takes itself way too seriously. Wolfenstein was never about the drama and against of the franchise. Wolfenstein (2009) would have been a better starting point IMO.

Hamfisted story and writing with good, but not great, gameplay.

Uninstall and get the superior RTCW instead.

One of the bettet fps games this generation

Not trolling man. Im actually jealous i wish i could replay it for the first time again

Do you ever just back up and actually read what you wrote?
Though the Jewish magic technology was a bit far fetched at the end of the day I was killing Nazi's and fighting Death's Head for making me choose between 2 friends.

>LE YOU KILL THE BOOGEY MEN NAZIS MAN I SURE FEEL SO EBIN AMERICAN GUIS

incorrect political commentary aside, decent.

The first thing you should know:

At the end of the first level, you gotta choose to save 1 of 2 characters.

Choosing Fergus (the Scottish man) unlocks health upgrades, they're scattered throughout later levels and each one permanently increases your health by 10 points, you get 10 of these upgrades, so 200 health.

You also get some cables that allow you to hotwire electronic doors which would be inaccessible otherwise.

And you get some autistic savant lady as a supporting character.

If you choose Wyatt, you get upgrades for armor value, note this does NOT mean you get higher armor capacity, it will still be 100, this upgrade only increases the amount each piece yield, i.e the helmets grant 5 armor on vanilla each, with all the upgrades they grant like 25 each, so yeah it's a pretty useless reward. And you get a lockpick which lets you open cabinets.

And you get Jimi Hendrix as the supporting character, no kidding, he's THE Jimi Hendrix.

Choose wisely, like some user pointed out, the moral thing to do is to save Wyatt, but Fergus route is a lot more fun and you could say easier.

Kiss my shiny natsoc ass you commie scum.

Communists having to resort to fiction to live out their fantasies is the funniest thing yet
Boycotting this shit game and its pinko kike developers

Wow youre going to go through life hating everything.
I kinda feel bad for you bro, youre going to miss out on so much and having fun just because shitting on things makes you feel cool.

Very fun game. I love everything about it except for the political aspect

A painfully average Nazi corridor shooter with some really disruptive / coma inducing forced story bits.

If you spent more than 3$ on this game, I pity.

SAVE FERGUS
ALWAYS PICK FERGUS

>you hate the game I like
>you must hate everything in life
Lunatic spotted.

Good game. It gives you the option to play stealthily but don't do that if you want to have fun.

What the fuck did I just do?

>hamfisted
What? The writing was good though. What didn't you like?

Play The Old Blood too.

Source on that gif?

Wolfenstein: The New Order is a fantastic game in the Wolfenstein series. You're in for a great ride filled with killing Nazis in many satisfying ways, an engaging story that will keep you entertained the whole time, and one hell of a badass main character.

Sort yourself out and stop supporting jewish brainwashing media.
There are no good guys in war. The allies are just as bad, yet only the "Nazis" are hated and shown like comic book villans.
Why do you only hear one side of the story when it comes to ww2? Guess who won the war

thought the story was a bit overrated, but god the gunplay is a joy. you're not supposed to play it like a run and gun but if you do you'll find one of the most punishing and rewarding fps gameplay in recent years.

Top kek what a loser

dude what? it's a quote from TNO, from the exact moment which most strongly alludes to the moral relativism you're talking about (when they destroy the legit new world wonder Mediterranean-spanning super-bridge, directly killing unknown dozens/hundreds of civilian bystanders)

I'm not the guy you responded too but it's story really isn't very good.
It's contrived and carnivalesque yet also takes itself far too seriously.

Yet they didn't have guts to go all the way with it. You see cars and squished nazi's yet you never see a signal squished/drowned/shot civilian.

The story itself is average, but the writing is good. Some fun dialog and characterization. I didn't think it took itself very seriously aside from Deathshead, which was good, how can you dislike the stuff with him?

>the best FPS released since the original Half Life, pretty much
I'd say Doom 4 was better

Fun gunplay and compelling characters.

>I'm a polfag
Sure you are, leftypol.

For the reasons I said.
The writing careens from "oh the humanity!" to "I'm gonna cut this nazi up with a chainsaw lol!" to Tekla's pure pseud tier rambling about physics and consciousness. It wants to do multiple things and fails at all. Don't mistake quipping for actual character development.

I guess that's just your opinion. I thought it did multiple things, and did them all well, since it's just a video game and the story is just there as flavor content at the end of the day. Clever, dense quipping is what games need more of, anything more elaborate and it places the focus too much in the story.

>Sup Forumsacks are either nazis or communists
newfag detected

Don't cop out with "it's just a video game." They clearly put enormous emphasis and effort into the story. And nothing about it is dense. It's all comic book tier bullshit. That wouldn't be a problem normally, but from the emphasis and effort they put into I'd say they'd like to think it's more than that.

>It's all comic book tier bullshit.
Which is perfect, literally perfect for video games, because video games are not movies. There needs to be a balance, and in games story needs to be lighter on the scale than everything else, compared to movies. So that type of writing for games is actually perfect to me.

It's not a cop out, it's my understanding of what makes a good video game. It's why I look at something like Legacy of Kain and think, well, that has great effort in its writing, and the writing is pretty cool, but there is a point where it stops complementing the games and the games themselves just range from mediocre to downright bad, the poorly integrated book-like story being a part of why that is.

it's neither and both, trolls are having a field day.

>this is literally the most accurate post in the thread
>mfw jews were somehow more smart and advanced than nazis, and yet still were shoah'd
It's literally we wuz kangz, but for Jews.

Kino

While I agree with you, I would say that was a true statement until DOOM released.

That'd all be fine if, like I said, they weren't clearly aiming for more than that. It's not like it's just cut scene's, there entire interactive section that serve no purpose but advance the story. And even if is "perfect for video games" doesn't make it good writing. If it's only "good enough for a video game" then it's pointless to try and defend it as good writing.

its a pretty fun and engaging game OP, i hope you enjoy it.

This sums up a lot of people in today's world.

what are some examples of what you consider to be good games?

>they weren't clearly aiming for more than that.
If they were, the game's story would have been more elaborate. I think the style of writing and execution shows that they weren't aiming for more, they were aiming for the sweet spot, which they achieved. The game itself is not weak, everything is well rounded.

>And even if is "perfect for video games" doesn't make it good writing
In the context of video games, which is what matters here? Yes, it makes it good writing. Quality of anything has to be understood in context of the medium, otherwise you have poor, rigid opinions about things.

>Communists having to resort to fiction to live out their fantasies

70 years later naziboos remain this mad they lost

You're the one had to bring it down to the context of video games after you realized you couldn't defend it's writing as writing solely, and had to modify your argument to the video game as a whole.

>If they were, the game's story would have been more elaborate.
How could the story even be more elaborate? Do you mean the plot? Of course the plot could be more elaborate, but they do massive amounts of ingratiating the story and writing into the game play, as I said before there are multiple long scripted sequences with minimal interaction and do nothing but interact with the characters and story.

>Quality of anything has to be understood in context of the medium
Bullshit. How acceptable it is is modified by the medium, but passable to bad writing doesn't become good just because it's in a video game.
