WE'RE SICK OF REMAKES

WE'RE SICK OF REMAKES
>remake Shadow of the Colossus
HEY THIS IS GREAT!!

You fucking drones are so obnoxious.

...

Nothing wrong with that I wanted it on my PS4
Kill yourself

Nobody even asked for this that's the thing.

I'd like to see a remake of mercenaries, personally.

Okay nigger. People are sick of remaster, not remakes. There's a difference. Use your fucking brain.

only thing i want from this e3 is a re2 remake news and i am a staunch remake hater. everyone has their price, op

You gotta realize two things, people are hypocrites, and not everyone on Sup Forums is the same person.

Its going to be casualized shit with powerups and a cluttered hud
screencap this

>remake of one of the best games of all time
>bad
nu/v/
>b-but FF7Remake is different!!1

It's ok when Sony does it.

P3, P4, Nocturne, MGS4, and Dragons Crown ports when?

Will it add the cut colossi? This is important.

so confusing
they remastered this shit like yesterday, yet another remake? Unless there is another whole story with new collusi or something who cares.

nah, ff7 remake looks like trash

Gotchu covered famino

>Sup Forums is one person

>Nintendo remakes Metroid 2
>Sup Forums goes fucking wild
>spams threads all morning about it

Huh

I'm on the fence. TLG was pretty bad.

it's not ok when nintendo does it.

but

it's ok when sony does it.

PS4 is my first PS system, so I am excited to pick this up

>ff7 remake looks like trash
It will get even worse when it's announced as a timed PS4 exclusive or a PC-PS4 only.

SotC is one of my favorite games of all time and I'm extremely skeptical of this remake. It'd be so easy to fuck up the game with unnecessary bullshit and the original game has gorgeous art direction that'd easily get ruined for the sake of "better graphix".

Rehashes and re-releases have been okay since Sony's been doing it with the PS4.

So the Metroid 3DS is a remake and not a new game? like the AM2R project?

So we are all hypocrites huh, gee wiz.

How exactly does this concern you?

I havent played this since it first game out, now I get to be even more immersed.

Yes, but official. Honestly, I prefer AM2R's style, but I'd give the official remake a chance

10/10 game of the year a perfectly reimagined classic - IGN

not putting it past them. current industry is cancerous as ever. won't get any better either.

if it adds new content like more Colossus I will probably buy it.

>Metroid 2
>25+ year old game
>gets remake
>additional content

>SotC
>12 year old game
>had a re-release 6 years ago
>getting a graphic update and re-released again

it's a re-imagination :(

This needs to be either 30/40 dollars, or have new content. I couldn't justify buying this at full price otherwise

if there is no new content I would hope it is 20 dollars.

PS3 was only 60fps upscalling
This is new and probably has a new Colossi. And selling well may give us Shadow of the Colossus 2.

It's funny because Sonyfags were shitting on PC for the Age of Empires remake, but then acted like Sony won because of this

That said im hype as fuck, but it better have all the cut content added back in

They showed a bunch of horses at the begining, was that always in the game?

If this has new content then okay, I could understand, but I highly doubt they'll put that kind of effort in after TLG bombed.

Yea, it would be shitty to sell a graphical upgrade at full price.

But i'd probably still buy it because i like the game.

I haven't played the original for six years, so I'll be buying this. Hoping they add in some of the cut colossi, though.

Emon & some villagers appear at the end, so yeah

Nah, we're sick of remakes that have no reason to exist. Remaking an average game not even five years after it came out is a blatant cash grab. Remaking a classic thats 12 years and 2 consoles old on the other hand...

this kind of looks the last guardian only not as good

Sony sold a couple of PS3 port at full price so it's possible

>confusing remake with remaster
SotC doesn't need a remake. It could use a remaster to clean some of the few small issues hanging from the PS3 version, but a full on remake is just going to fuck up the look of the game because muh realism.

The last guardian was the fucking worst - literally could not disable the hud tutorial the entire game

How many times can you re-release the same game? At least the PS3 version was very much needed because it actually ran at a stable 30FPS not a silky smooth 15.

If this version runs at 60FPS I'll probably buy it but otherwise really have no reason to. No way I'm buying it a 3rd time at full price though if they charge $60 for this game.

It's kind of cool to see SoTC with PS4 graphics, but I think the aesthetic's a bit off.
Because of the textures, vertex painting techniques, and other stuff in the original game, it almost had like a painterly sort of look. Kind of hard to explain.
This, on the other hand, looks very distinctly... I feel they went for more of a realistic look, and it ends up actually looking a bit cheaper in a way.

I feel like this is more of a "if you don't want it don't buy it" situation.

I mean, it's not like any yearly release rehash thing, but i guess that's debatable

"Just let us have SOMETHING!"

you guys realise this is probably means a sequel is development, right?

>probably has new colossi
Doubt

Do you play as the horse?

Everyone likes a rehash of a franchise they like and everyone will shitpost about a rehash of a franchise they don't like

you play as mono and you sleep the whole game

Are you saying you haven't seen the hundreds of thousands of posts just on Sup Forums alone complaining about Nintendo remakes over the past who fucking knows how many years?

The two games I'm most excited about are this and Superstar Saga + Bowser Minions

At Team Ico's pace we will see just in time for the release of the PS6 Pro+ ultimate edition.

So is anything changing other than visuals ?

SotC doesn't need a sequel.

PS4 version looks great, but yeah it's generic compared to PS2 version, the shading/lighting techniques this gen are all the same

a problem with PBR is it can make things look too clean & shiny, you can see how Gaius's hammer now looks like marble thanks to this

>change anything and they'll probably fuck it up
>don't change anything and there's no reason to bother with it when the original holds up so well visually to begin with
Why even bother?

>Nintendo sucks because it ignores Metroid and F Zero
>Nintendo finally gives attention to Metroid with a 2D remake of a 1990 fans have wanted for years
>REHASH REHASH HREHASH
Morons.

Samus Returns is a game from 1991 that fans have been asking to be remade for almost a decade now.
And you're faulting a company for finally listening to its fans and making quality content?

Admit it, you JUST want dev drama to sperg out on so you can feel entitled and superior, but you'll never play the games in question.
Instead you sit here on Sup Forums sucking the cock of about the 2 games you don't shit on. Pathetic.

Why do you hipster fags praise this baby tier difficulty glorified puzzle game so much?

it would be a good project to get team ico into gear again. less r&d time, quicker turnaround.

because i like it

This is my thing.

I said it with Wind Waker and I'll say it here: of all the games that aged like milk, you pick the wine games to tamper with??
Why not Ico? It's older and the underrated darling masterpiece of the bunch.

Ueda doesn't want to pull a Kojima & churn out SOTC forever

He wants to make some Half Life 2 clone, which isn't any better but at least it's not a sequel

Because other elements are making it one of the greatest games ever made and it's clearly going over your head if you don't understand the value.

But likely it doesn't suit your taste and I respect that. But you're also wrong about the difficulty and fun of the game so who cares what you think.

Is it a remake like Crash, or Remaster? I honestly can't tell. Bluepoint logo made me think Remaster, but the graphics look completely redone along with some animations, which usually doesn't happen with remasters.

Sony are obviously trying to "relaunch" this game with a focus on the casual audience who like cinematic story-driven shit. Expect it to have dialogue, many story cutscenes, etc. All of the artistry of the original version will be gone, as we can already see from the visuals in the trailer - it looks sterile as fuck compared to the original.

Don't you have some poo to go look at and claim is art?

Even with Wind Waker there are things that I thought could be improved (which to the HD edition's credit, were improved) but I can't think of a single thing I'd change about SotC besides maybe adding the cut colossi, but even that runs the risk of fucking up the game's pacing and could turn out horribly under the wrong dev team. Even with Ico I think there a few things that could be changed for the better like those fucking awful combat sections.

>complaining about Nintendo
So that's what this is about

>old 2D sprite game gets turned into a full 3D game
>old 3D game gets better filters and nothing else

Makes you not want to think

...

>Half Life 2 clone
Actually, he's trying to make something open world similar to SotC this time around, and seeing as nothing is even remotely similar to Half Life 2 in tone or style, idk where you even got that..

I love SotC and I still think this remake is pretty weak.

I mean ffs we just had Ratchet and Clank again, soon we will have Crash again, and now this?

So what you're saying is that it's a reboot? I'm not following here

It's just wrong when Microsoft does it...

Why give them money anyways?

I liked the MGS one, I was a kid when 1 and 2 were coming out, so I played with my dad, but it was cool to get into all of them.
