I agreed until that. Sonic Adventure aged poorly and the gameplay wasn't fantastic. I say that as someone who fucking loved it in my younger days and still plays it for nostalgia purposes.
Everyone but sonic and shadow was fucking shitty to play, the bosses sucked, stage design and visuals were boring or janky. It was genuinely poorly designed games.

I for one am glad they're taking the piss out of Sonic's autistic points, everything from dumb villains to shitty OCs, and cranking that shit to 11. If the gameplay holds up this could be the first great Sonic game in years.

For every bit that looks good, something looks straight outta sonic 06 and sometimes dips down into deviantart levels of bad.

I think the only thing that can save Sonic Forces is if the gameplay is tight as fuck and there are no bugs or glitches (that is sad that i even have to say that, but you know sonic's track record).

The story might be shit, but if it can salvage itself on gameplay, it might be worth it.

Sonic 360's aesthetic was fine (aside from maybe trying to get Sonic romantically entangled with Elise, fuck that noise), I just had a problem with the maddeningly confusing storyline. It was enough to make the game bad on its own for me. It is such a painfully convoluted encumbrance and it simply can't be ignored.

But generations gameplay is better.
The only part of Sonic adventure that is still fun is Chao Garden. You can't saw that the game has the best gameplay when any stage when you aren't sonic (or gamma, he was kinda fun, better than the mechs) are boring.
Generations wasn't perfect but at least it's fun for the duration of the deal. In SA2, you have fun for maybe 1-2 levels but then some shit like Aquatic Mine, Mad Space, Egg Chamber will appear and make you want to off yourself. Also the bosses were complete garbage in all of the adventure games. Newer game has it much better.

Well you see, terrible OCs function on Mary Sue logic, so the official characters can never hope to stand up to them, which is why they need to enlist another terrible OC to help them.

I didn't enjoy playing as either of them in the 3d sonic games.

It being boost formula doesn't bug me as much as them having to shoehorn sidescrolling sections in the 3d sections every fucking time. I'd be alright if it were a rare occurrence but when it makes up more than 50% of the fucking thing, it's just ridiculous.

I would rather that earlier in the timeline Eggman Robotnik set loose a villainous plan, but Sonic and crew gathered the chaos emeralds and stepped up to stop him. Before the final machine was destroyed Eggman activated a portal through time and flung him into the future where robotization is mandatory. Now Sonic and crew is looking to return to the his present to prevent the events that Eggman has started.

Mephiles kills Sonic which causes Princess to cry which triggers the apocalypse allowing Mephiles and Iblis to fuse into their ultimate form Solaris. Solaris then proceeds to ass rape / eat the past present and future which causes all these lands / levels to get mashed up

Sonic gets revived because princess hax and Sonic Shadow and Silver fight Solaris. Sonic manages to get to Solaris core "flame" and blows it out. This basically aborts him from time from what I could tell meaning that all the events of the game never happened (since Robotnik came to the place due to Iblis in the first place)

Game ends on the beginnings events only Robotnik doesn't show up and Sonic is just chilling out watching the parade
