Nothing. The whole series sucks, and the latest game looks like the gayest shit I've ever seen in my life. A fucking father-son story in a GoW game, what the fuck? And they somehow managed to make a character look less badass by giving him a huge beard -- a difficult feat, but they did it. Please just let this turd die.

Turns out the "kid" was Loki all along fucking with Kratos' brain to make him do his bidding and kill the other Norse Gods to claim the throne of Asgard for himself. The final boss fight is Kratos killing the Kid.

They're taking it in such a shit direction. All the GoWs up til 3 were fine because they were throwaway entertainment and knew it. They started getting too serious by 3, and this new one is taking it even further. Nobody gives a shit about some kid, they just want to laugh at a greek caricature ripping the guts out of some creature.

Remove the apparent focus on storytelling and simply make the story an excuse to fight cool shit from Norse mythology.

Honestly after ascension i'm glad the BoC are gone. They just felt like shit, and the gamebreaking bugs and camera zoomed so far out you can't see what the fuck is even going on makes me think they can't even do that anymore.

I think you mean shitting up the gameplay. My favorite thing about God of War compared to DMC, Ninja Gaiden and Bayonetta was the static camera. Especially since camera controls are shit in those games. Giving it that over the shoulder camera is fucking gay.

How about just treating it like a standalone game with a familiar character (like Mario) rather than comparing it to previous titles.

The old games were good, but it looks like they're abandoning character action to give a more "Soulslike" experience, which is probably smart because they can't compete with the old DMC games (same thing Tameem is doing with Hellblade). Could be shit, but the old GoWs were fun, and their previous games were perfectly serviceable.

Haven't played Bayo, but I'm referring to QTEs that are part of the gameplay instead of cutscenes

The ending did not promote anything, it was up to interpretation of the player.

gow only does QTEs for finishing enemies or phase changing the bigger ones, you still have to get through the challenge of living until then which can get pretty fucking hard when there's a lot going on

I never said that GoW can't be hard, but combining gameplay with QTE is just a way to make the game more cinematic and ruins the purpose of being a hack-n-slash game.

The game breaking bug happened to me twice and I just wanted the game to be over with because it felt like a slog. The trails was when the game started getting fun but I don't think i'll ever play it again.

Go for it, it's not the best but it's definitely good.

The camera angle sucks for a hack and slash game because you can't really see the whole surrounding.
It's not supposed to be that realistic combat because Kratos is a beast in fighting.

Also, is his name still gonna be Kratos in this game? That's weird because isn't it supposed to be Norse myth now?

They always do that with these reboots. The old voice actors are too video gamey for their movies

I've been thinking about it, and I honestly don't know. The core gameplay of GOW1-3-Ascension has gotten stale, but IMO it's still better than the mutilated Souls combat we will be getting. I kinda wish they went for Dynasty Warrior style gameplay with typical western polish and made a game with bigger amount of enemies and scale of battles, instead of this.

This shit completely ruins Kratos' character and the plot of whole series. You want a GOW with Norse pantheon, cool, but make it a brand new franchise instead of dragging Kratos into it. Fans will know it's pretty much the same thing with different name anyway(except it apparently isn't the same thing any more, but that just proves that it shouldn't have GOW in name even further).
