>How do I become as good as Mr. Yabuki?

How do I change colors
Not allow to post here unless you have proof that you can beat Grand Prix at level 7.
So how do they plan to balance Max Brass when he seems like just Spring man but better?
Played for about 2 hours and barely made it through level 4 GP. I'm getting my ass handed to me online when i thought i had a grip on things (ninjara's dodge is alot faster than I thought, I have to bait it). i just need to practice alot and take the game more seriously.
Snakeman's stage is so fucking awful. It's like having permanent items on.
>it's so hot here today I'm already sweating just by existing
Wish this country knew what ACs are.
Well I did go and buy ARMS just now, so woop.
I guess first things first I'll try to get through grand prix
The same way they balance any playable final boss in a fighting game. Nerfed to the point of being unplayable outside of Grand Prix.
So how does Yabuki'd translate into Japanese?
ヤブキコンボ
No. Max Brass is the worst. I hate hate HATE that the inner ring is just a slight incline, something we could easily step over, but no. Gotta jump it.
Are Switches still sold out?
Broke ass fuck.
Really want to get arms but I also need to feed myself.
If you beat a higher level does it automatically act as if you did the lower levels?
Right? It's like playing a completely different game. Movement options are so weird and terrible and it takes forever to actually hit each other because hopping up and down uses the snakeboard as a shield from lower attacks.
It's so fucking awful.
So far im having a tonne of fun with Minmin although im still having trouble getting a grasp on the motion controls, i think i just get too flustered at times.
No. I went and beat every single level of difficulty in Grand Prix. Don't be a goddamn idiot.
Sometimes when I dodge with Kid Cobra I slide on the ground
Most of the time I don't
I don't see what decides whether I do or not
I agree, can't hit anyone for shit when either of us is riding on one
But did you do it Sparky only?
Did you dodge forward? Or did you dodge in a different direction?
Dodging forward as Snake Lord has you slither up towards the opponent with your belly down on the ground.
There are games like that though, it's a fair question sperg
Can I get some tips for anti counter punching? I'm really fucking bad at that part of the training.
Forgot to order it on Amazon yesterday so they could ship it.
Won't get it until Monday/Tuesday
Muh weekend!
cobra slide-dodges when you are charged up on the ground
>instantly start my first grand prix on difficulty 7
what could possibly go wrong?
Dodging forward while your arms are charged will slide under attacks as kid cobra.
Only beat grand prix once since I only just got it an hour ago
>Grand Prix level 4 with Spring Man
>Match 1
>Helix
"I'll just beat him then eat breakfast"
jesus fucking christ that was rough
But unlike the test punch I'm actually learning a shit ton with each match about matchups and arms now, it's great.
wow I'm getting owned on the first stage
Shoulda placed your order sooner if you knew you wanted it.
Counter her while she's trying to anti counter you.
I'm not really sure what to tell ya. I beat it my first go.
>Amazon delayed my delivery
Fucking shit. Now I won't be able to play today.
Why didn't you buy through Best Buy? I will shill for them because they via UPS brought me my Switch one day before street date.
>They didn't buy Digital and start at Midnight
>not saving 20% with prime
SAD
That's not listed on the order page, user
Look at the total above. Red number is the list price, the price next to the date the order was placed is what you pay.
I don't have access to your account so I can't see that user
Why physical? It's like only 500mb at most.
How do you unlock the brass man? Do you have to do stage 4 with every character?
I also played the whole testpunch without realising that holding y or x charges punches. I always used block before. I never got the hang of any character other than master mummy because of it, it feels like a different game now
The AI is fucking cheating by input reading
Double stack amazon glitch. Got 40% off.
They have been really shit with day one Switch stuff consistently though.
>can't even use a single super against max AI because they will without fail always 100% block it and react within 1 frame
>double stack
Explain
Digital is fine for cheap shit ($30 or less) but for a full price game I'd rather preorders and get the discount online.
Well, yeah. That's how fighting game AI works. Increasing frequency of input reading.
Use it as a counter. It has a deflect on activation. If you knock down one of their arms, it's a free super.
>tfw you played ARMS on your older brothers Switch during the test and enjoyed it immensely
Have to wait until Christmas now though. I got a switch coming in July with Splatoon 2, but its a joint Christmas present for myself and my little brother for his birthday (which is also on Christmas).
So I got to wait till Christmas now. With Mario on the way too. It hurts man.
I try doing that, but she's throwing out both punches before my first punch comes back and knocks my other one down. Maybe it's because I'm using default Robocop and he doesn't start with gloves that curve very well?
Made it to rank 5 but I wasn't really trying and was just testing some stuff out.
What's your attitude when ranking?
If I win, I let them rematch me once. Regardless of the result of the 2nd match I then look for another opponent.
If I lose I will keep trying to rematch until I win or the other guy leaves.
How do I access the tutorials
2.2 gigs for ARMS at least. Jeez, what do you think this is? 1998?
In any case, I like physical games in case I want to lend it to friends and particularly with consoles, I can't guarantee the online will still exist 2 generations from now.
You're forced into it when you boot it up for the first time.
Amazon Canada had a glitch for a couple of hours where if you kept changing the quantity of games at the final checkout, eventually you would get both 20% off from Prime and 20% off from E3. There was a similar thing that happened through Best Buy as well
Hit confirm
Should I really get this game? I'm a bit short on cash so I was gonna wait for Splatoon 2 a game I know I will love instead of gambling on a new IP.
It's in Versus from the main menu.
Gonna go pick it up in a few hours.
You all did buy the Joy-Con set as well, right? Surely you don't want to look like a scrub at Evo, right?
I play with the pro controller, so no
It's fairly barebones for 60 dollars, I'm enjoying it but if I were you I'd just spend it on Splatoon and get Arms when they've updated it more.
Well, they did give you like ten chances to try it out first. Not sure why you didn't take any of them.
I think Splatoon 2 will have more content on day 1, and like you said, you know you'll like that for sure. Get ARMS later when you're not as strapped for cash.
HOW IN THE FUCK DO YOU PLAY HELIX
He feels like complete garbage. It's like a completely different game. His mobility options feel sticky and clunky and his ARMS are actually unmitigated garbage. His goofy upper dodge does literally nothing against slappers, chakrams, or boomerangs.
Because I'm a yurop. My other choices are GAME or Mediamarkt.
The later isn't as bad, but since I have work I won't be able to go today.
>pro controller
I want that hoodie
>buying a multiplayer game physical
>in 2017
A combination of work and me being a dipshit and forgetting. I only got to play for about 10 minutes with Ninjara.
His dash lets you go under punches.
What is the benefit of digital other than saving a few seconds sometimes when switching carts?
Same.
>what benefits are there if i exclude all the benefits
have fun losing your entire switch collection in a house robbery
I don't live in Detroit
I have to ask. Is it worth getting right now? I had a lot of fun with the Testpunch but I'm not rich and Splatoon 2 comes out next month.
At the same time I don't want to get it too late and find the online dead.
What do?
Depending on geography. It's actually the worst on his own stage because there's very little chance you'll be standing on flat ground where the targeting actually lets things go over you.
Switching carts on the switch specifically while it's docked, is a bigger inconvenience compared to other consoles
Anybody else getting this game after watching this guy ace that kid live? He toyed with him like a cat that's caught a mouse.
Should I get a pair of those yellow joycons or should I get a Pro-controller? I only have a pair of black joycons but find them comfy. With yellow joycons the Switch looks pretty cool and you can play with four people (I don't have friends so this point if kind of worthless to me)
the yellow joycons are the exact same thing with a different color
the pro controller is a fantastic classic controller
how is this even a question
I'm not the guy you're responding to, but the benefit for me is having multiple games accessible while on the go without needing to carry multiple game cards. Certain games that I might want to play at a moment's notice to kill time (Mario Kart, Tetris, etc.) are the top candidates. Single-player games that have an ending and not a ton of replay value (Zelda) are better off physical since I'm not gonna need to have that on me all the time long after I've finished the game.
That said, I still try to get physical for most of my collection. Phsysical guarantees that you'll always have a copy that isn't tied to an account or reliant on available system storage space to be playable. It can also be popped into any console, which for a system like Switch that currently has NO form of system/account transfer, is pretty important.
Bullshit. I got hit by this. The replay shows it clearly over my hitbox, but I still got grabbed.
Pro Controller's D-Pad tends to be fucky and likes misclicking your Left/Right inputs as Up, which is aggravating in something like Puyo Puyo Tetris. Good controller otherwise, for ARMS you can use it to get the hang of the mechanics, though the motion controls offer more flexibility for in-game arm movement.
Physical
Positives
>can sell second hand and purchase new games with the money earnt
>looks nice in a collection
>can lend to friends
>if you lose your Switch you don't lose your games
>often cheaper to buy as you can get physical copies either second hand or on sale
Negatives
>slightly inconvenient to switch in and out
Digital
Positives
>slightly comfier as you don't have to switch in and out
>quicker to,purchase
>no other positives
Negatives
>can't resell or lend
Physical slightly edges it for me
Who here /pro controller/ ?
If you have no friends to play with, then your existing Joy-Con pair is all you really need as far as Joy-Con go.
Switch's Pro Controller is honestly excellent, so go for one of those if you're a solo player.
I'll edge YOU
Digital isn't tied to your account.
>if you lose your cartridge you are of out luck
>if your cartridge stops working you are out of luck
>if you forget your switch on the bus you lose not only the switch but all games you had with you
>if you get robbed you not only lose the switch but all games you had with you
>if you open the cartridge slot all the time there's a good chance you end up damaging the plastic cover
>you are less likely to play games if you have to change cartridges all the time
>you don't have to crowd your room by putting up empty plastic dust catchers
>physical version doesn't even come with a booklet anymore
Isn't tied to your Switch I mean
I noticed the d-pad thing in Puyo Puyo Tetris. It isn't heinously bad, but when you're trying to go fast in online Tetris, a single misclick could spell death.
Kinda wish they made the d-pad clicky like the Joy-Con's buttons are. Clicky d-pads are a lot less prone to error.
Are you telling me if I buy a second switch I can play all the games on my current switch without having to pay for them again?
Are there any known tweaks that sort it out?
If you buy a second PS4 you can play all your digital purchases. How should it be different with Switch? All Nintendo purchases are tied to your account
Just make sure you don't slide your finger across the dpad. If you actually don't slide it but instead press left and right on the dpad, then no matter how fast you can, can't really get false inputs that way.
At least I can't.
I was getting the game anyway, but that fight was hilarious.
The guy was on top of the world just minutes ago, and then Yabuki gracefully stole his smile and optimism away.
You're a fag for not just googling it but click down the left stick and hold a direction and hit A.
I have a pro controller too, and I can further explain what this user means about it misreading d-pad inputs. When you're pressing the left or right sides of the d-pad, you can kinda tilt the d-pad up or down and it'll read it as though you can pushed in that direction. In many games, this would just read as a diagonal movement, but pushing up at all in Puyo Puyo Tetris makes the pieces instantly drop.
That being said, I've found it pretty easy not to do that with my pro controller but perhaps mine just has a stiffer d-pad that makes it harder to do so accidentally.
I ordered both now, going to try them out on the weekend. Most of my time I play in handheld mode so I'm not sure if it's worth to pay $70 for a controller I'll hardly use.
It's amazing when playing locally for fun, though
>click stick down and tilt it left/right for skin
>ends up switching to the char on the left or right
>That being said, I've found it pretty easy not to do that with my pro controller but perhaps mine just has a stiffer d-pad that makes it harder to do so accidentally.
I think you just get used to it over time. When I first started playing PPT, I was killing myself with misclicks over and over. But as time went on, it started happening less.
Click and hold it down. It shoudn't move to the next character.
