The problem is Jin's devil gene only activated because Hei shot him in the face and betrayed him. Jin is also the one person who could be able to control the Devil Gene because of his Kazama genes. The whole Azazel plot is strange but japs love that plot(see; Code Geass) Fact remains that if Jin didn't do what he did Azazel would have raped the planet and everyone would be dead. It's the lesser of two evils.

No. Jin started world war 3 in order to wake Azazel from dormancy because he figured Azazel was the progenitor of the devil gene. So agfter millions of lives were lost and Azazel wakes up, Jin goes to Egypt and succeeds but gets gravely injured in the process. That was supposed to be the end but T7 pretty 'nopes' all of that. It also nopes the story of every other game... which brings me to the next asspull:

How this translates into not fighting Heihachi until he is an old man by reasoning he wanted him to get stronger is beyond me. Heihachi was definitely stronger in his prime/youth around Tekken 2 since he canonically beats Devil Kazuya and already killed Devil Kazumi.
