Because you had to fill a shitton of stars to use it, and by then you should be steamrolling anyways

What was it about this game that made it so fondly memorable even after all these years?
kek
Its bright ambiance, cheerful music and artstyle, and enjoyable, if cliched character archetypes. I'd say anyway. Max a best. Jess best aesthetics, but shit mechanics.
how about the fucking good music, that's a pretty good reason. shit, just check the songs already linked.
anyway crayola commando is best mechanics, in what world is superpowered land vehicles not utterly imbalanced? once you start stacking offense/defense buffs in dual strike with extra buffs from your tag partner you have an absolutely impervious tonk brigade.
fuck off eagle. you shit.
You being 10~13 and with limited access to games when you first played it.
pile of shit ulti that needs like 50 stars to use
Nell, Hatchi, Collin, Sasha paired with anyone is fucking off the rails
fuck off
WHO /SAMI/ HERE?
>come for the hot girl
>stay for the 1 turn HQ capturing
Between this, Fire Emblem and FFTA, how the hell did one unassuming portable become such a stable of good tactics games?
I played this as a child and I still remember Kambei grinding my face across the dirt like it was nothing.
best CO comin through, better step back

The bad memories from FFTA/2
>law: no crits allowed
>law: no damage allowed
>law: no winning allowed

Sami's fun to use. all those mechs wiping / getting wiped out
Of course. Eagle already captured her HQ
>Metroid is getting a new 3D FP Metroid AND a new 2D game
Alright, so next E3 is going to be Advance Wars' time, right?
These. AW in general had some god-tier music.
Don't forget the simple pick up and play game mechanics that belied a whole lot of depth underneath that surface.
>next E3 is going to be Advance Wars' time, right?
sure user... sure
>geocities
Oh god what next? Angelfire?

lightning strike was the best power in the first game
pretty fitting for as old as advance wars is
they actually kept it around in japan
>fly into your base
>bombers bomb all your tanks and shit to oblivion
>lightning strike
>the same bombers now fly over your factories and barracks
>end turn
>funds/cost
>fuel
>ammunition
>movement
>range
>terrain
>defense
Was all great to manage.
Shit like this is why I preferred AW over FE. The former was always a pure TBS unlike FE, which is enjoyable, but has too many RPG elements and RNG shit, which bugs the shit out of me. I just want to command my army without having to deal with permadeath and leveling up underleveled units. I also prefer AW's more modern, more 'fun' setting. The wrong series died, dammit.
I hope they make another FFT for the Switch. I'd definitely buy it then.
don't you die on me
...
DoR killes the series
even Dual Strike was already fortelling a downfall
2 was the best
...
>the best game in the series killed it
What meme is this?
It killed it in a good way.
It's now laid to rest, in peace, the series is closed rather than the beating-a-dead-horse of today.

This theme triggers me and I'm not sure why
AW2:O thread when?
Dual Strike was over the top, power creeped nonsense that was proof the series needed a reboot. Days of Ruin did nothing wrong and just got caught up in all the other mid 2000s Nintendo games that died but could easily be brought back to raging success.
That said I don't want anything like FE Heroes pissing on the corpse of this franchise.
