>Jim Ryan: Yeah. We've got to be mindful of our responsibility to our install base. Minecraft - the demographic playing that, you know as well as I do, it's all ages but it's also very young. We have a contract with the people who go online with us, that we look after them and they are within the PlayStation curated universe. Exposing what in many cases are children to external influences we have no ability to manage or look after, it's something we have to think about very carefully.
sony knows their target demographic. favela monkeys
Benjamin King
Yea...wouldnt want to expose them to something like this.
Austin Bailey
sony is just plain lying. cross play requires an xbox live account even on switch, so there is a governing body looking after everyone and so far every crossplay game has had to option to disable the feature.
sony was cool during the ps1/2 days but we are seeing the return of fuckheaded sony from last gen. the same sony that released a $600 machine that was weaker than the 360 and didnt get any games besides tech demos like lair for years
Camden Myers
The damage control is real. This and "we held back at E3". Waiting for them to apologize to their VR owners.
Evan Flores
>crossplay in some multiplat shits with small fanbase somewhere else >some how this is the same sony that released a $600 machine that was weaker than the 360 and didnt get any games besides tech demos like lair for years
kek keep trying though
Dominic Morales
they have PC crossplay with Rocket League and Final Fantasy. their excuse focuses on minecraft because they don't have any crossplay with that so they can make up a better excuse than we don't like nintendo and microsoft.
4thechildren argument falls apart even further after the rocket league devs said that getting microsoft was harder for crossplay because of their strict guideline compared to sony but allowed them getting nintendo more easily.
and lets not forget that the only reason the crossplay conversation even started was because sony was saying yes to PC crossplay and rubbing it in microsoft's face until they relented and the rocket league devs thought to do crossplay with consoles which as we know now is 100% possible.
Henry Lewis
Let's go ahead and pretend Microsoft didn't do literally the exact same thing when they were the market leader.
Daniel Reyes
minecraft regardless of how stupid is one of the biggest games ever. it's probably one of the highest selling games right now on the ps4.
>“I understand that stance. We want to take care of our players. But from our perspective, if PlayStation already allows cross-network with PC, which is the least regulated of any of the partners, then in theory, having Xbox and Switch in there should be fine. They’re a lot more regulated. From our perspective that concern is already handled. That’s taken care of. Our dream is that true cross-network play — we want it on all the platforms. It’s very important to us, for multiple reasons. One, you can have faster matchmaking. The bigger the pool, the faster the matchmaking. It benefits everybody. Two, you get better quality opponents. In a bigger pool you have better people who are closer to your location.” >if PlayStation already allows cross-network with PC, which is the least regulated of any of the partners, then in theory, having Xbox and Switch in there should be fine.

The whole situation has done nothing but expose M$ and Sony as a bunch of hypocrites. It's safe to assume that Nintendo would so the same thing.
Jaxon Harris
The mind of execs are truly fascinating. Its amazing that this guy has to create the least convincing excuse instead of just saying the truth in a polite way like 'Our vision for PSN doesnt include cross-play with other platforms'. I refuse to believe these people are human. Most if not all execs are very clearly lizard people in disguise like pic related.
Wyatt Bailey
From a legal standpoint you dont want to be liable for people using your service to have their experience ruined by people using another service that you have no control over
Seems reasonable
Mason Baker
He isn't wrong. Most PS4 owners are children.
Cameron White
Nice, I've been looking for a pic like that.

Meanwhile my 8 year old sister plays a level in LBP3 called "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN" where you massacre mexican sackboys with a machine gun

Microsoft has never been the market leader. Or always, depending on how you look at it.
