How does this make you feel?
How does this make you feel?
league has tons of viewbots
Twitch was a mistake.
Where my own3d bros at
What the fuck even is Battlegrounds?
Battle Royale game. you drop into a HUGE ass map where you scavenge for weapons and supplies. The map slowly gets smaller and smaller and the last one (or team) alive wins
100 people try to kill eachother in a battle royale map that continually gets smaller.
I didn't know Battlegrounds was that popular. What's the appeal of this game?
Twitch is decent for taking a look at a game before you buy it. Outside of that why the fuck does anyone want to watch all these dumb fucks playing video games while making stupid noises asking people to follow and subscribe every 2 minutes?
The same one for DayZ and The Culling. Survival PvP.
dude support me on patreon
Why is "X million people are watching a game instead of fucking playing" seen as a good thing for a game?
Fuck, that actually sounds interesting.
But knowing that it's """early access""" and already hit peak popularity, I doubt it'll ever be finished.
>piracy is not okay
>somehow watching entire playthroughs on Twitch is
>sking people to follow and subscribe every 2 minutes
Not everyone is like that. Some people save calling out subs at the end, and some not at all.
You watch streamers for the entertainment. Maybe they play a game well, or they play shitty/old games you'd never touch. There's very high quality streams if you know how to look for them.
My personal favorites are:
Vinesauce
Jerma985
Protonjon
Singsing
what is this game and why should i care?
H1Z1 King of the Hill reskin. Hilarious that the majority of Sup Forums fucking hated H1Z1 but seem to love PUBG which is the exact same game.
well its on e.a for features. this isnt like dayz when they are actively trying to finish the engine. battlegrounds is on unreal engine 4
>Where my own3d bros at
kek
>used to watch therainman and guardsmanbob on own3d
those were the days
I've always assumed it was poor people or casuals who can't pirate entertainment, so they look for legal sources like twitch and youtube for their fix. Otherwise, I don't get it either. Maybe, it's just people are watching only a little, but there's so many that it just adds up.
Supposedly these devs have been really good about updating regularly, but take that with a grain of salt.
It's a fairly complete game as is, but it still does have some bugs they need to iron out.
huh
There's no fucking way that many people watch league of legends consistently.
Judging from how the devs and the community have been working together to improve everything about the game it's likely it will be finished sooner rather than later. They recently showed off new changes being made to the game at E3 and they're all changes the community has been asking for.
Though that doesn't mean people will continue playing it forever. Many are just killing time until Destiny 2.
>therainman
fucking loved him, now he's an autistic retard.
pc gamers have shit taste
every month a new dayz like crap and they eat it
Maybe thats it? Like the only people I know in real life that watch mass amounts of twitch one is legit autistic and the other is 10.
It's mind-boggling to me that more people don't consider 3rd person view to completely ruin a multiplayer shooter. I'm not going to play a game where someone in a house or behind a wall I'm approaching from any distance can see everything I'm doing while being completely hidden.
...
Seems like an improvement to be honest. MOBAs are cancer and so is hearthstone.
viewbots
Welcome to the state of e-spoatz, where the players are trash and the audience is human garbage.
This games is only fun with friends.
pubg was literally designed for the top streamer and there is a thousand pleb streamers that just copy him because they don't understand why he is popular
feels good that I've superior taste
salty bet needs to make a comeback
Half of those games are free though. I just think it's like playthroughs on youtube. Some people prefer just watching someone play instead of bothering to play it themselves, it's easier and requires very little attention.
There's probably some ADHD involved there, I've seen it many times before.
>that drop in Overtrash numbers
TUMBLING DOWN
TUMBLING DOWN
TUMBLING DOWN
Did he come up with "Find a shack, vlog from there until there's 20 people left"?
wait, did anyone not see this coming?
So can I do that refund trick once it leaves early access if I buy it now? I remember people posting that for Killing Floor 2.
>streamers
why are those so popular again?
Why not watch movies or tv.
TV is becoming outdated like radio was in the early 20th century.
It was the same since month 2 after the release
Maybe it upped a bit during the world champ. The category litearally survives on 5 people: ster, moonmoon, seagull and a couple of other guys
>patreon
why are these a thing?
1. They're entertainers, same draw as LPers, but live
2. Virtual friends you can throw money at to make them notice you.
Its like television, but with games and social contact instead of bullshit and advertisments
Kids nowadays watch reality tv on twitch instead of MTV
all valve needs to do now is unfuck tf2 matchmaking and we're back in the natural order
For league prob because streamers are better than you and you don't have to be there for the whole match (20-40 min)
And because some streamers are entertaining. For some reason they are rarely e-sport streamers
What if TF3
It's carried by 3. Tim, Seagull, and Moon. Without at least one of them streaming, it's never in the top 20 games.
I think it's mostly because of the chat room
I guarantee streaming wouldn't be a big thing without the chat room, Like watch kripparian stream, it's just him playing a boring card game but the chat moves at 1000 lines per second of people spamming memes, trying to get their 15 seconds of twitch fame when they make the next new copypasta that everyone spams.
>all those people watching it and seeing it's a boring-ass game
at least the other games actually had that many players play the game at least once
That's the first thing I always hide.
Does Valve even have anyone working on games?
he didn't come up with shit he just plays what he likes
a bunch of other streamers that usually don't even play shooters end up copying him because they think he is some kind of genius who knows what games people want to watch. In reality, he doesn't give a fuck at all and plays what he enjoys
well you see gwailo, when you put the stream up in you launcher you don't even need viewers
The answer is in the name
It's like people addicted to trash TV. They just want constant distractions, easy and instant entertainment, and even most movies require more attention than this.
They're completely incapable of focusing on just one thing for more than 10 minutes so they just watch it instead. It's very sad because this affects their everyday lives as well. You can see this too if some friend on steam is playing 5 different games a day but never finishing any. We just have WAY too many distractions these days, and some people struggle with focusing on just one and keeping order in their brain.
Looks like the fad for this game is peaking. When does the next one of these things release on early access?
Game of the season. Give it a few weeks and it'll die. It's a really shallow, buggy game and I can't see it having any staying power.
people watch them because they are on the internet so of course they are gonna watch.
The real question is why the hell would anyone subscribe to these people, meaning giving at least 5 dollars for some emoticon.
Who are these people? Why would someone working a "real" job ever give 5 dollars to someone sitting on his ass playing videogames (or, in case of this e3, someone COMMENTING a stream: see TotalBiscuit channel getting 100k subscribers in 3 days while he was sitting at home with his wife watching and commenting the conferences).
I'd imagine after a few years, enough valve people would decide to get back into tf2 after not playing it for so long
One joker would say "lets port it to source 2" and some other joker would take it seriously, then a snowball effect occurs and 8+ years later, they release "TF3" with a massive content update and revive the traffic with a grand new wave of players and some old veterans.
man can dream
just think of it like a street preformer
some guy play a nice tune on the street and some people toss him some change
some guy made a nice play in a game, and some people toss him some change
Fun
Dotard here. I watched a couple of his dota streams. He played ranked and calibrated at 2k mmr. Isn't he's like diamond or platinum? I mean he has to know a good amount of basics to at least get to 4k. But 2k? For experienced, ex-pro player? This is like bronze tier in league.
>people still watch league
pls kill me
Nah, seems they have their shit together. Regular updates and dev info. They're releasing console versions so more than likely they'll finish it. Also it's actually fun as fuck.
>inb4 shill
>low level geeks following the latest fad
wow what a surprise!
I honestly tune in for the people speaking in it and the dumb shit they do with their friends
Much like I wouldn't touch L.A. Noire with a ten foot pole, I'm quite enjoying the sbfp playthrough
Same reason ster and jerma were funny to watch as a duo, but don't quite work alone. Much like how nanners works his best when he's with his old crew.
It's hard to chart it down to a single variable, but there's some things that work great and some that don't, and some that do but not all the time and in all situations. Speedruns seem to work great for certain games, but in some it's just a terrible slog. etc etc etc.
PUBG is H1Z1 with a good developer
