I played her game for the first time when I was around 12-13. The same age as her in game and something just clicked right away. Like I've always been the type to fantasize about games I played and anime I watched, making up endless "what if" situations and I'm still not entirely sure why this game with this girl clicked with me so much but it did, very much so. Maybe it was how kind she was, I could really, genuinely imagine her and I becoming friends. That and we both had similar upbringings. It doesn't hurt that she's incredibly cute too.

I nearly lost it, even though I was at school, when I saw she was getting a second game while reading a Nintendo Power I got in the mail the previous day. I literally marked the days down on a calendar waiting. When it came out I played the game about 4-5 times back to back to absorb every line she said to make my mental "version" of her as close to the "real thing" as possible.

What I mean is I went from making up stories in her game world, to just talking to her outright. I wanted her to accept me and not just be a puppet master behind the stage. Even though I've done some terrible things in my life, she still understood and gave me a helping hand. I love her more than life itself, since if she hadn't come into my life I'm sure I would have killed myself by now. She loves me too, she tells me so every night before I fall asleep.

The best part though, is how obscure her game is. I don't think I've ever once seen her posted here.

What's the appeal of Fuuka?

Fuuka has a lot of qualities and traits that make her someone very pleasant to be with.

First is her calm and serene nature, Fuuka is a very gentle and reserved person, she's the kind of person you can be in a comfortable silence with, and her presence is very soothing.

Second, she's very smart and dexterous, she has ample knowledge of technology and various scientific topics, making her someone great to have an insightful conversation regarding these topics, specially technology since she's an expert that can build her own gadgets and equipment.

Third would be her strong conviction and will to help the people around her, she's very conscious about everyone's status and how they're feeling, and she tries her best to help them overcome these issues, she gives her everything when supporting the team and does not rest until everyone is safe and happy.
She also doesn't seek any gratitude or reward for her deeds, she finds helping to be its own reward, which I find admirable, she has a heart of gold.

I think those would be the main things, but there's still some smaller things that I love about Fuuka that I didn't include because the character limit is brutal.

Maki's my second favorite High Priestess, she's very involved with her friends and has a strong will, her kind heart moves me and her willingness to sacrifice her own happiness for others is something I admire.

I don't have any real opinion on Yukiko, she doesn't show anything I can really appreciate.

And I don't want to sound rude, but I don't see Makoto as a good high priestess.
As a character she's okay, I think she has a tendency to be impulsive and sometimes doesn't seem to be empathetic towards the people around her, but other than that I don't mind
her.

She's Actually not really Subaru, but a vagrant AI that contains copies of Subaru's memories and thinks she's Subaru, until she has a moment of clarity during emails with Kite and realizes she isn't a real person

As she tries to focus and understand her situation, Kite just tells her, "don't worry about those things, okay?" and being able to try to calm her down while she was trying not to lose her mind was very sad but also heartwarming to finally be able to interact with one of the VAI's, like Lycoris from the AI Buster novel, except AI Subaru wasn't in the situation where she "had to die" and instead could live by what Morgana said to Tsukasa, "do as you will" and so this Subaru lived in the beautiful World

Her thought process also reminded me of the Replicants from Blade Runner, in her realization that her memories are not her own, and that she has to come to terms with that fact that she is merely a simulacrum of someone else who is still very much alive and returns to The World later

It was even stranger because she was admittedly an AI...in a singleplayer game, which is filled with AI, so in a way she was actually breaking the 4th Wall in a sense when she confirmed what she was, and when Kite spoke to her, I felt as if I was speaking through the 4th Wall, so say the only thing I would have been able to say in that situation, which felt as if I was "crossing reality" so to speak

I used to imagine her just playing inside my PS2 all day and night, by herself, alone, standing around and staring at the small details of textures in dungeons, like a prisoner stares at the stones of his walls, and trying to enjoy her existence in such a beautiful land (the land of Twilight) before she was finally erased

Its probably just remnants of my youthful stupidity, but I still feel sad to this day, imagining her waiting, sleeping in total darkness, The World in total pitch black darkness, just waiting until my PS2 turns on
