ITT: Games you liked that most others don't and you don't get why

I'm a huge fan of UT2K4 and aside from less content, everything else about UT3 was still solid and the new stuff they added like hoverboards and faking your death was fun. Why the hate?

because Gears of War killed it

this is UT?
looks like Warhammer

I liked UT3 but my PC back then could barely run it, so eventually I gave up because of poor performance. Never gave it a try again.

>TF2
I don't remember there being a time where Sup Forums talked positively about this game. To this day, TF2 is better than it was, and it is objectively more popular at 60k+ peak every day as opposed to barely scratching 20k before it went F2P.

Dark Souls 2. I still think it's the best Souls game; while all of them are incredibly good, 2 just hits the right sweetspots even better.

TWEWY
Once you get past the emo MC and anime stuff its a really solid game.

How?

UT3 was shit. Movement felt so fucking shitty.

Most people like TWEWY, though? It's one of the few games Nomura's designed characters for that they actually fit into

Sup Forums generally hates weebshit.

I also really liked ut3 and put a decent number of hours into it, but i never played any of the previous games so what do I know. I feel like the visual style is a big part of why ut fans didn't like it

>I don't remember there being a time where Sup Forums talked positively about this game.

What? How long have you been here? Before Valve went super hat simulator TF2 had at least one or two threads up on Sup Forums 24/7. It was very positively accepted for a long time.

Summer already?

have you seen the catalog?

Is it summer?

comes earlier and earlier each year

damn

>TF2
There was a time when it wasnt hat simulator you know.

Pushed past the boredom and fell into a state of bliss. Glad as fuck the game's long.

Best headshots ever. Holy fuck does the combat feel good.

>this is unironically my favorite starfox game and it's not even close

Sup Forums liked Team Fortress 2 on release.

That's what I remember. Used be lots of reaction pictures with the spy smoking two hundred darts.

>mentlegen

Best weapon and armor design ever. Disagree? Too bad. Suck my cock.

Mount and Blade

I liked UT3. Very much.

Its just that despite gameplay still being UT, the visuals and the atmosphere of it were of Gears of War, which killed it for some people, since... well, idk... they did not like it.

That and bad release date, bugs to hell and back, glitchy and buggy multiplayer...

All were ironed out by the time Black Edition came with Titan mod, which was fucking great, but did not save it 'cause it was too late.

On a personal note, they should've made a proper campaign, included Assault and Mutant modes, and incorporated them into campaign.

But what the hell, it was a very nice game.

Multiplayer still works.

Good red pill. Thanks.

You are welcome. Also, Community Bonus Packs give very very nice maps. And there was a bunch of mods too... still are.

Hell, even for a single-player run the game is more than worth it.

I miss bombing run.

I didn't really mind the new visuals, its the impaired mobility and few game modes that killed the game for me.

There was no reason of the double dodge from UT2004 to not exist, or assault and invasion mode.

>Worse gameplay
>Less modes
>Less maps
>Worse artstyle
>Worse movement
>Less characters
>Focused on vehicles over everything else

Fuck you, UT3 was a direct downgrade in every way and it killed the series.

...

Is lawbreakers going to be good?

Do people actually still play UT3?
Back in the day my PC was too slow to actually run it and now i feel like giving it another try.

What was it like? Three paragraphs minimum.

this. is it still on steam

I still have my actual boxed copy of the black edition. do i need steam to play it online?

It's a fun decent action beatum game. Check it out on youtube.
