I don't have a favourite game but here's my list.
>New Vegas and FO3
>Smash Melee
>Witcher 3
>Dragon's Dogma DA PC
>Nightfire
>Sands of Time
>BotW
>Wind Waker
>F-Zero Maximum Velocity
>Raptor: CotS
>Toy Story 2
>Disney's Tarzan
>Crash 2

Definitely New Vegas, sunk about 20 characters into it but only beat it three times.

Somewhere between Psychonauts, Nier, Dreamfall and Silent Hill 2.

Normie shite.

Pathologic is the single game that stands up in my mind above any other.

That said, honorable mentions should go to:
The Void
Morrowind
Fallout 2
Factorio
Homeworld
Silent Hill 2
Half-life 2
Cryostasis
Deus Ex
Thief 2

Dreamfall? Really? The sequel to Longest Journey Dreamfall?

I actually don't know but this is my go-to answer.

Captcha: Town Patrician

Lol wtff...

I thought I was the only person who knew about Cryostasis. I haven't played it, but it looked nice when it came out.

Isn't it bugged or something?

Why did you put it on your top list?

you posted it

>The sequel to Longest Journey Dreamfall?
Yeah, Chapters was a bit of a mess, and the overall gameplay's rough, but the first Dreamfall still has a cheesy sentimental place in my nostalgia.

>Pathologic is the single game that stands up in my mind above any other.
I've been trying to get into this one, but I'm really terrible at exploration games with time limits. And whenever I try talking to people I feel like I break the proper dialogue sequence and end up talking about things and referring to people I haven't been told about yet.

The atmosphere's solid though.

My nigger

I'm playing as Haruspex right now day 5 and I love this game. The town feels like my home now. Just walking on the streets and listening to the music is amazing

Dude Sex

>I thought I was the only person who knew about Cryostasis.
Cryostasis has a minor cult following around the world, actually. I came across it the same way I came across Pathologic and The Void - on an ancient (seriously, like 2007/8-ish) horror and psychological game recommendation list from Sup Forums.

>Isn't it bugged or something?
Not really bugged, just really, REALLY poorly optimized, to a point where it won't run well on anything, regardless of the power of your machine.
The game is kinda bad though, strictly mechanically speaking. Definitely not fun.

I have it so high because the story is up there with The Void or Silent Hill 2 as far as I'm concerned. And I'm very much narrative-oriented guy, and I have a very special spot for any games that manage to transcend genre fiction, which is not a common thing thing in this medium. It stuck with me, became important to me, inspired me in some ways. That is basically the main criteria that I followed when setting up that list.

I will not understand that. I loved TLJ back in the day, but Dreamfall was awful, and Chapters were unberably bad. Dreamfal was just such a painful letdown to me. It had a few decent moments, but mostly it was retcon, removal of nearly everything that made the original so lovable, introduction of asinine new mechanics and removal of the original core, and just so much sequel baiting and zero question-answering it felt almost like an insult.

Don't let me start on Chapters, because those were even leagues worse.

The game is not easy to get into. But the time limits only really feel intimidating at first, when you still don't know the city. After a day or two, once you'll familiarized yourself with the city, you'll find it's more of a time-management game than exploration game.

As for sequence breaking - well partially it happens by accident, partially the game just does not give a fuck about sequencing to begin with.

Say it.

Say how much you love me.

Without a doubt, Metroid Prime is my favorite game of all time. There's no question about it

fpbp

Mass Effect Trilogy
CoD Modern Warfare (oldschool first chapter)

This fucking game is pretty much the best entry to the Star Wars universe that's ever existed including the movies. Despite it ending in incoherent nonsense

heres my list:
demon souls
dark souls 1, 2 & 3
bloodborne
nioh
ninja gaiden black & 2
metro 2033 & last light
DMC 1, 3 & 4
metal gear rising
silent hill 2
the last of us
bernd and the mystery of you know what

Outside of a few bizarre puzzles in the original, the classic point-and-click style probably does fit the pacing a lot better, but Dreamfall was my introduction to the series. And Zoe's story really clicked with me.

Won't deny that the cliffhangers left kind of a hollow feeling that Chapters didn't have the time to thoroughly fill though.

u mad bro?

>misery

>but the mod is f-fun!

Thief 2
Rocket League
Dustforce
The Longest Journey
Prince of Persia Sands of Time

Metroid: Zero Mission
Halo: Combat Evolved
Portal 1 & 2
World of Warcraft (Vanilla)
Baldur’s Gate 2: Shadow of Amn
Fire Emblem: Awakening
Dragon Age: Origins
Morrowind
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2
Dark Souls
Team Fortress 2
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (Original Pandemic (fuck you EA))

I wish Bethesda would turn this game back over to them so they can make a Fallout game and not Minecraft in Fallout

unironically this

Zoe was just a discount April and gets little to no closure (while April, the amazing and lovable April of the first game, was turned into an insufferable clichéd "emo chick" which completely invalidated all of her personal growth from the game).
Meanwhile Crowboy went from funny to annoying, that Hassassin guy might as well not been in the story - seriously, he is almost perfectly superficial. The whole tone shift towards darker was terrible: the first game was great, among other, by being a dark and nuanced story beneath a seemingly comedy surface.
Removing most of the comedy did not add depth to it, it dimished it.
The way they had to retcon and destroy the Stark just pissed me to no end. The puzzling was gone but there was nothing of worth replacing it. The story goes basically nowhere, setting up far more questions than conclusions, and most of the charm in general was gone.

To me, it was awful.

That said, where Dreamfall was just an utter dissapointment, Chapters felt like a direct insult. And god knows I wanted to like it. I don't think I have ever felt offended by any other game but this. And I'm not talking about the political shit (which was terrible, though in a completely different way than most people think): it was the whole general direction and treatment of the originals that insulted me.

Man, I have to stop. This is making me sad.
I'm happy that at least somebody got some mileague out of Dreamfall (it did have one or two good moments and some pretty environments, I'll give you that).
But as somebody who really enjoyed the original on release, TLJ series is now a very painful memory.

Fucking shit taste in this thread.

What is this from?

The Guided Fate Paradox holds a special place in my heart.

Yes, we all long to hear your generic Sup Forumstard contrarian opinions and cheap bait.

W-well, if you insist.

so go ahead, show us what games you play faggot

That's fair. Dreamfall is one of those games I acknowledge isn't perfect, but I heard the story during a time in my life that I felt like I needed to hear it sort of deal.

Zoe's probably the first game character I had ever seen that dealt with depression in a way that presented it how it felt. Countless days of repetitive apathy, despite having all the ingredients you need to be happy. And then she gets in over her head and sees new places with emotional highs and emotional lows with funny likable characters and everyone wondering if there's some greater purpose to it all. It felt like a journey.

But yeah, despite liking the start of it, Chapters left a lot to be desired. Like they had a lot of ideas to start with but started running out of time and money after the first episode. And then decided to end it all on yet another series of cliffhangers.

...

I've beaten this game like 30 times now. Not joking.

God tier game. I'd kill for Overlord 3

How? It's not my favorite per se, but its a great fucking game.

>we could have Overlord 3
>instead we got this
t-thanks

You posted it.

Bloodborne honorary mention.

>Fallout
>in a favorite game thread

Okay.

Thief 2. The most immersive game I've ever played. It made me fall in love with stealth games.

nice, how about inside

I kind of preferred Limbo's atmosphere.
