I don't know, man, I've only ever used the original 360 controller for any length of time, and the Xbone controller a total of one time, and based on that, I can only say that it's a good controller, at least when it works.

I was playing Xbox way back then and getting the S controller didn't make me any better. The only thing wrong with the duke or original xbox controller is the lack of bumpers, which doesn't matter in rocket league.

why would someone use the ds4 on pc? it's almost identical to the ds3 (and the ds2 too, but that one wasn't meant to be plugged on the pc).

Buffalo USB Classic Gamepad - Cheap as fuck chinkshit with very good quality, I prefer it over even the real Super Nintendo pad as it's d-pad is less stiff. For Playstation games I use the ASCII Pad PSS and like it a lot but it is VERY specialized and wont really play well with games on other systems. It plays perfectly in games like Umihara Kawase Shun and Kings Field among others, I see issues with shooters just because small bumpers. My only complaint with it is a stiff dpad but I have gotten used to it, there are probably better PS1 controllers though

Xbox 360 for console ports
Steam controller for whatever else you don't really want to use mouse and keyboard for (i use it for slow as fuck games like Thief Gold, Fallout New Vegas, and prefer it for onestick games like NiGHTS into Dreams or Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing transformed just out of convenience)

GENERAL DESKTOP USE;
Steam controller, hands down. Can use the touch keyboard anywhere, is pretty accurate as a mouse input, can make hotkeys for just about everything like switching monitors or alt+tabbing, its great. I use it erry day

Any microUSB to USB cable will work with an Xbone controller ya doofus. Yes, the very same cable your phone uses to charge. You can buy them starting at $3 in almost any length.

Also works with bluetooth which all laptops have now by default.
