Convince me to buy a Switch
Convince me to buy a Switch
I have one. Don't.
You won't
I have one. Do it.
Shit taste casualbabby.
Good luck finding one.
If you need to be convinced then there probably is not a good reason for your to buy one, currently.
Well I DON'T own a Switch but from what I've seen, there has been no "Cinematic experiences" on Switch, just games. That's a plus in my book. It's the easiest console to take with you (even if you take the dock) so if you aren't a scared, self-conscious little pussy, you can play games on the go (even thought the batterylife isn't good).
It's not worth owning yet (unless you haven't played MK8 and BOTW on WiiU in which case, sure I guess it's worth owning)
t. Switch owner
The library will be okay after October, and there's a good few things to look forward to. Plus, the production ramp-up should have visible effect by then, so you'd actually be able to find one.
Why would you? Wait for actual games instead of falling for the meme hype machine.
Most of the games suck atm and the library is shit. Nintendo consoles are only really "worth" it at the end, more when you can get the games free.
>here has been no "Cinematic experiences" on Switch
What does that even mean?
Good narrative and cutscenes is considered bad now?
BOTW had just the same, and they were extremely shit.
It also has cinematic QTE flurry rush, slow mo bow usage, and slow mo dodge triggers. Pretty cinematic if you ask me.
Own a switch. Can confirm.
It's just a red and blue Wii U.
Even has the same amount of storage space in 2017.
The only thing that's stopping me from buying a Switch is worrying that Nintendo'll release some kind of updated version that has what I've wanted. That's what happened with the damn New 2DS XL came out. I fucking never use the 3D on my 3DS XL AND I miss out on the second stick, etc.
Are they gonna come with a New Switch and cuck me again?
...
Likely, whatever it takes to nickle and dime its userbase.
I can't. Ask again in a few years.
If you like Nintendo games, get one.
If you do not like Nintendo games, don't get one.
The Switch is a handheld, so the chances of a revision are pretty high. I'd wait, but it's up to you.
Why would I?
Buy whatever you want, decide for yourself after looking at the library and games to come.
...
Heres the reason thats going to convince me
Yeeeah. I'm hype as fuck for Oddysey and Prime 4, but I'd really rather not get dicked over
Although I totally missed out on the Wii U, so maybe I'll just take advantage of it (hopefully) becoming dirt cheap and finally get a chance to play Bayo 2 and Pikmin 3
/thread
If you want a TV ornament, buy it. Because this thing has absolutely NO games.
Just like 3D world, a game you beat in 10 hours or less and never touch again unless you are an autistic speedrunner.
I'm honestly kind of amazed at how much the Switch is literally following in the Wii U's steps except with less games and paid online.
Nintendo is either something you want or you don't
I don't think anyone can be swayed either way
I am buying Switch next year just for new mainline pokemon games. Literally just that.
>Just like 3D world, a game you beat in 10 hours
Not him, but what do these moonrunes mean and how are they supposed to convince someone?
...
Ex dee
this, also having tons of fun with my modded 3DS XL great library im waiting for (((switch U))) i care about the games libraru man not the consoles
Top is course clear, bottom is sandbox. Odyssey is like the 64 and Sunshine with large levels and non-linear level design. That video showcases Mario's movement options.
How long do you expect games to be?
>NO games
He's talking about massive cut scenes and non playable segments but you knew that faggot
Any console including your gold ps4 is shit
Now remove all the multiplats and ports.
No
>If you remove all the games a console is releasing, it looks like it doesn't have any games
Wow, you're a genius.
The multiplats are the worst games there.
Why?
I got you senpai
>If you remove games you can play somewhere else from reasons to own a Switch, there aren't many reasons to own one
Woooow
Remove the exclusives too because I don't like them or Nintendo.
BTFO
Yep, nothing of value lost. I'll be waiting until a hardware revision to get a Switch, also I prefer to buy used games.
got you again
pic related
That's what exclusives are for. It has exclusives and multiplats that can also be played portable. I don't know what you're getting at here.
Fine, I will:
>Odyssey
>Splatoon 2
>Xenoblade 2 (assuming it doesn't get delayed)
>ARMS (if it's actually good)
The 3DS actually has a stronger 2017-2018 lineup than the Switch. Not sure why a few of its future releases are missing...
Take out FE Warriors too since it's on the 3DS.
There are only two reasons to own a Switch currently.
1. You are a massive Nintendo fanboy
2. You are such an impatient full retard that you can't contain your hype for the games that will get released in 2-5 years and need to buy a switch now to cut down on your autism.
>It has exclusives
Not many
Especially when ARMS and Splatoon 2 don't look appealing
My bad
No one was gonna buy it anyway
Now put the ports back because no one here wants to play that shit on the worst Nintendo console in history.
So it's okay to say Sony or Microsoft doesn't have games because of multiplats, but not the same to Nintendo?
Game I'm defiantly buying
>splatoon 2
>mario+rabbids
>mario odyssey
Honestly I was really expecting a nice 3rd party game a least, but I expect to play lots of splatoon 2
>the worst Nintendo console in history
The Switch is a handheld.
The one thing that thing was missing was Payday 2 but until recently no one cared because Payday 2 was fucked on console until they buckled down
If the rumor of Microsoft pushing crossplay on Switch Multiplats is true maybe I'll support it on Switch
Doesn't matter. If its on another console or PC it doesn't count as a reason to get the system.
> no one here wants to play that shit
Sup Forums had hourly MK8 generals for months
MK8D was quiet as fuck tbqh, /v'eekend is already dead
Sup Forums finally convinced me to get one the other day, cant find one in stock
>Feelsbadman.jpg
Pokemon usm arent ports or multiplats
If it isn't there it counts as a reason not to get the system.
Wait until the holidays, by that point you'll have BotW, Mario Kart, Arms, Splatoon2, Fire Emblem Warriors, Mario+Rabbids, Pokken DX, Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Of course if none of these games interest you don't get the console, but if there's atleast 4-5 I think it would be worth picking up.
I'm not going to say the switch is perfect, it's far from it, but it helps that the thing is portable, especially if you have to travel a lot
>Especially when ARMS and Splatoon 2 don't look appealing
Mot to you, but nintendo's exclusives are pretty hype from people so far.
>So it's okay to say Sony or Microsoft doesn't have games because of multiplats, but not the same to Nintendo?
When did I say this?
It will not have a mediocre library like the PS4 and Xbone.
Get one and play ARMS.
BotW is fantastic for the 80~ hours of playtime it will hold your attention without new content,
and potentially heaps more for completionists.
And MK8 is great fun, being able to play 2 players anywhere without additional controllers, and 4 players with one additional controller pair is great.
But for people who aren't true completionists these games will only hold your attention for so long.
And ARMS is the game to soak up the hours in between everything else.
With Nintendo hitting its stride from here to the years end is when the pace picks up in game releases.
But if you don't want to commit too soon, it's lineup isn't comparable to the line up of the other established home consoles.
But consider for a moment how dismal their lineups were this close to their release,
They themselves only hit their own stride 12 months after their release at best.
But they didn't get this level of acclaim so immediately.
In fact the most successful game on PS4 launched to ~50 million potential players (currently ~60 million PS4s sold)
That game being Horizon Zero Dawn, currently having sold 2,806,418 copies.
While The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, has currently sold 2,658,313 copies, and launched simultaneously with the console, that has been failing to meet physical demand for consoles. (Nintendo Switch has currently sold only 3.48 Million consoles, due to stock shortages)
If you can buy a Switch, as in, you find one physically for sale, you should do it.
But if you mean put down money to wait for stock, its a waste of money.
Hold onto your dollarinos until you find one you can buy on the spot, its well worth it, and you won't negatively impact hardware sales by not pre-ordering new stock.
You didn't but other people do. Having multiplats doesn't count as a reason to own a console, especially when PC exists.
So it's ok to think that because some retard said it once that everyone else thinks this way? And that you'll be equally as petty in return?
Here's a reason not to:
It's not worth 400 Federal Reserve notes.
lay off the return key, reddit
>Mot to you, but nintendo's exclusives are pretty hype from people so far.
Reception to ARMS seems to be low, especially in Japan. It's definitely not another Splatoon
You can play Mario on it.
No other console will allow you to play Rocket League at crisp 720p and liquid-smooth 60fps on the go AND docked to the console.
gamespot.com
Don't miss out, user. This is a new era in gaming and you don't want to be left behind.
How long will it be until the supply problems go away? Before November?
If scalper prices are any indication I'd say roughly never.
Let me break this down for you.
>Good narrative and cutscenes is considered bad now?
No. But when gameplay takes a backseat to cut scenes and story that's bad. Games that are full of QTEs that could just as easily be raw gameplay. Games where they sacrifice fps for graphical fidelity because it looks more cinematic with 30fps (or other reason). I want to PLAY games, not WATCH them.
>BOTW had just the same, and they were extremely shit.
It had good narrative and cut scenes that were extremely shit? No, that's not what you mean. And no BOTW wasn't a cinematic experience. The time you spend watching cut scenes is MINUSCULE compared to the time you actually spend playing.
It also has cinematic QTE flurry rush, slow mo bow usage, and slow mo dodge triggers.
You are free to use those anytime. You don't have to use them. The only reason it's slowed down is because if it wasn't, the moves would be nearly impossible to perform. So they're "cinematic" only because it's slowmo and it's slowmo for the sake of GAMEPLAY. You can't skip a QTE cut scene cos it's crucial for the game's progression. In other words you HAVE to "play" them. "Cinematic experiences" are games that tries too hard to be movies. They are to an extent interactive movies and not games. It's no biggie if a game has a lot of cut scenes as long as gameplay doesn't take a back seat and PLAYING the game is what I actually spend most my time doing. Good gameplay. With mechanics. Story should be there for the sake of gameplay and not the other way around. The ONLY time "Cinematic experiences" are acceptable is when the WHOLE game is QTE. Like Dragon's Lair. But like said, you knew that already. Either that or you're new to games.
Splatoon 2
>No games
>Made for kids, betas and manchildren
>Weak specs
>No Monster hunter
>No pokemon
>Shit build quality
>The Mario version of Sonic06
>Xenoblade 2 is Shit
>warping device
>Dock scratching the screen
>No Internet
>Handhelds are for idiots
You are better off buying a ps4 pro and horizon instead
Found the autistic drone
Sony always win
Don't, someone who actually wants one can buy it then.
You almost got me with that one. 8 year old/10. Ni-oh, Gravity Rush 2, Yakuza 0, Persona 5 and Nier: Automata aren't "cinematic experiences" though and I love all of them. All made in Japan as well.
Zelda is fun, Mario Kart is fun, and Super Mario Odyssey will be the GOAT Mario platformer
Speak some goddamn English you fucking retard.
kek
Horizon fags are still this mad. Your game is shit no one cares
Sonic Mania is the only thing I am looking forward to. Suck a cock.
Gonna piggyback off OP's thread with my own question. If I were to buy the Switch with the intention of only using it as a handheld how satisfied would I be?
I want to get one for Mario but I feel after the 30 hours it'll take to beat it, that my Switch will just be collecting dust like my 3DS
At least learn the meaning behind buzzwords before you use them.
You can play botw until you get bored and some party games that are fun for 20 minutes at a time. Isaac and Disgaea are all it's good for right now outside of that.
I have that same kind of speaker wow
Wait for Switch 2.0, it will be better across the board and will release with better colours.
I actually laugh at all the people buying now. It's the original 3DS all fucking over again. I bought a launch 3DS and never bought another because fuck upgrading incrementally for the same price over again.
Just wait for them to release it again like they literally always do, vidya jews.
You will only ever find grey joycon, lol.
nintendo
Home-Console quality gaming on the go.
I'd wait until there are more games though.
