Drop Rates

Post the most infuriating drop rates or enemies you hate but need to farm for important items in any video game ever

>Bouceywilds

That's a Sniperwild.
By far the most obnoxious enemy in the game.
Least you only need 5 of what they drop, and it's guaranteed as long as you don't get spotted.

i still want to put my dick into that thing

Just STOP on them broski.
Stealth Soldier is much more obnoxious though you can just stop on them too

Stop works like shit on them.
It's easier to either get them when they jump on the ledges and single them out, or Mushu abuse.
Stealth Soldier doesn't even come close, but the second worst next to Sniperwild is Grand Ghost.

How can drop rates be improved?

What if it was every time you killed one, you got a higher percent chance to get it, starting from 50% for commons, 25% for uncom, 15% for rare, 5 for ultra, and 1 for legendary? Each kill gives +1% extra chance. But for ultr and legendary it was only .5%, so it keeps them rare enough.

Common-legendary would be tied to specific enemies as well? Or maybe it was that after 100 kills on the same enemy, no matter what it was or how tough it is, if you hadnt gotten the drop before, youll get it on the 100th kill.

>Grand Ghost
>worst in any way
Out of all of the extra Heartless, it is the absolute easiest to get stones from. You just use Elixirs/Hi Potions on it to get what you need.
At worst you'd have trouble stocking up on Elixirs to farm it.

Drop rates can never be improved because their rate to drop is reliant on how bad you want said item.

The fuck you talking about?
Grand Ghost and Sniperwild both have states where they have nearly 100% or higher drop rates for their stones

While we're on the subject, these mother fuckers can eat a dick, too

Use Strike Raid. That hint alone makes it all the easier.

use dumbo and it's pretty much guaranteed

Any fucking 1% drop rate in any MH game. Shit's fucking ridiculous. I'll be drowing in 1% drops for shit I'll never need, but the minute I actually need something I'll be grinding forever for it.

if you stand by the fountain you can actually snipe them with firaga really easily for about two waves of 5 spawns before their search range gets too big.

Thanks, I'll try these out the next time I go to them

I really don't think drop rates can be improved without making games piss easy. However, making one item have a drop rate of like 10%, and only on enemies that have like a 40% spawn rate is egregious, though, and there are MANY rpgs that do just this.

Good luck user.

...

As annoying as shit as the rares are.

I still think Shiny Crystals are worse.

>Wizards
>Worse than Sniperwild

2% Drop rate.

Bright Crystals are the worst offender at 1% though.

Just put on Jackpots

None in KH are that bad because they are all basically mini games where if you get a high enough score you are pretty much guaranteed their drop.

To give him some credit, Wizards can be especially annoying if you;

don't have stop,

have a low mp pool,

don't have combo plus,

or meet all three of these circumstances.

as much as I hate the non-garunteed drop bonus heartless, I really disliked the chimera, its game was dumb and inconsistent and goofy always fucked it up by getting hit

Even then it takes awhile man. I think he's 100 percent right that they are the worst because all the items from the special enemies can be gotten guaranteed if you are good enough at beating them.

>trying to get Wizard's Relic and Defender

Wizards can be hurt by Aerora/Ga.

Eh, depends on when you go farming them. They're a pain in the ass when you first meet them in HB, but later on when you get Divine Rose they're a cinch.

I struggled with it for while then all of a sudden it just clicked for me. I can't even explain why.

>just finished getting all keyblades, staffs, and shields today.
>all that's left is minigames and gummi ship trials.
>decided to stop for the day.

I ground for materials for days and yet now that its done and out of the way, I have no motivation to do the dumb little mini-games to finish the journal.

>sora learns lucky strike at level 90 if you chose the sword at the beginning of the game

Half the stuff from Borderlands 2
>traversing an entire map to farm the Gunerang off Rakkman
>Badassasaurus never dropping anything, let alone a Slow Hand
>farming Hyperius 100 times, NEVER drops a Norfleet, only 2 Kiss of Death

>Wizard's Relic and Defender

Just end me now

>tfw picked staff
>second chance at 90

>0.39% chance of getting a Pink Tail in a fight against specific enemy (1 in 64 chance of appearing) and a 0.0061% chance of a given random encounter resulting in the Pink Tail being dropped
>alarm clocks = 100% encounter rate
>DS version makes alarm clocks mandatory for encounters
>and now it's 0.02%

>Ever going for Sword
Shield's the most consistent/viable option, while Staff is mainly useful for early game.
Sword is a meme.

Drop rates can be completely fixed the same way cash shops, quick time events, and grinding can be fixed: Remove it entirely.

All those new heartless were obnoxious little shits.

>grinding
That's not something you remove because it's not something you put in on purpose. You're a moron if you think that's why it's a thing in some games.

...

I grew to love the minigames although they are better in 2. I now look forward to new mini games in KH games.

That thing in particular is a total cunt.

I just wish 2 had better arenas, holy shit they sucked ass. Removing Exp was especially CANCER.

...

Having to wait til level 21 for scan is maddening.

The easiest (but most time-consuming) trick I found was to stand on the roofs nearby and zap it whenever it got in range.

I know. I finished the journal for 2 like a week ago and that was the last thing I did, even after Lingering Will and Data fights. Thank god for blessed Stitch.

>Strike Raid
I found Sonic Blade to be more reliable.

Something else that ticks me off is the drop rate for the KH2 manga scans. I've been grinding for this shit for months now, and nothing

Does Sonic Blade also make you invulnerable?

I'm not sure if they changed it, but in Maple Story, there's a quest attached to the main raid quest line in the Temple of Time (relatively high level area). You have to collect a monster drop from these three mini-boss mobs that spawn every ~30 minutes. It doesn't always drop, but the drop rate isn't too bad.

The infuriating part is there's like 30-50 people trying to do this quest at the same time, and there's only 20 channels, and only the person who gets credit for the kill gets the drop. The quest is a huge bottleneck for people trying to unlock the pink drop boss

If you put in resource scarcity and also a way to continually and indefinitely collect said resources, you are enabling grinding. If you add in a level-up system and a way to continually and indefinitely collect experience points, you are enabling grinding.

>When you got exactly what you asked for but not what you wanted

Heartless Ansem is probably the most cucked villain in the series.

That's MMOs in general.

I'm still trying to plat KH1.
I have the ps4 KH collection.
How much of a bitch is CoM to plat?

I don't know, the Organization got cheated out of existing entirely

I forget what they are supposed to drop from, but trying to farm the fucking fire crystals in Recettear made me give up on 100%ing it

I like early counterattack
fuck all the min/max bullshit

>Play kingdom Hearts 2.5
>Get giddy at limit form
>Realize they removed invulnerability from all limits and renamed Ars Arcanum

A royal bitch and a half.

But it's still easier than beating the GBA version.

what game?

Which ff is this?

Fuck these guys, fuck the Medicant's Staff and fuck Miyazaki.

TWEWY had a great system. You could choose to lower your level in exchange for boosting your drop rate. You could also eat food that would permanently raise the drop rate.

>Removed invulnerability
Not exactly the same but you have so many parry frames during them it's near impossible to get hit out of it, especially since every hit can stagger as hard as a finisher

>He never attempted to platinum Demons Souls.

LET ME TELL YOU

ABOUT

PURE BLADESTONE.

>renamed Ars Arcanum
>it's now Last Arcanum

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>Grind for days to try and get one
>friend has a guy invade his world, invader drops max upgraded weapons with every stone, get all trophies for all weapon types without even trying.

tfw farming the noise dragons at lowest possible level for shitloads of yen pins and walking in to the final boss with full Pegasi gear and Pegasi pins

good shit

As I said you are a moron.

Enabling grinding is the first (and biggest) step toward encouraging grinding.

>grind forever for it
>miraculously got it
>duped it to hell and dropped it to anyone, invader or host

No one deserves rolling off a cliff 100+ times

I want that thing to fuck me.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse.

The entire game.

FF4

>mfw I got one after only 20 minutes
How lucky was I on a scale of 1-10?

This cunt trying to get the Sword of Kings

You are a hero
