It plays perfectly fine on ps4, it's even one of my favorite FF in terms of gameplay. It's really uncomfortable to play on psp though.

played the Japanese version back on the PSP and the combat was fun

there's some weird shit about every town being the same and there's not much to explore on the world map

I enjoyed it. Give it some time to get used to the combat and if you never do then I guess its just not for you.

I finished the whole game with Queen I like glasses. Ace and Deuce were always the last ones on my reserves list.

Shit, you're right. Boring but effective definitely. Loved those magic sigils.

She does massive damage due to innate magic damage on her basic attacks, but her animations are so cumbersome on top of having low range so it's hard to enjoy playing as her.

Ironically, he works best as a "Melee Magic Bomb" build

I always tried to use him as ranged, maybe that's why I didn't liked him.

What happened to Tabata? I didn't play The 3rd Birthday, but I heard gameplay wise, it's fun.

Nothing, literally every single game he directed has the same exact flaws, THE SAME EXACT FLAWS.

The man does not improve at all, never.

The only thing that makes CC and Type-0 better than XV is that those games are psp games so their flaws are less noticeable and/or easier to digest.

Also CC has a much batter and complete story.
Type-0 is still kinda unfinished and most of its in game cutscenes lack good direction but its still more complete than XV.

Tabata can't deliver a good game to save his life.

it was never universally praised, the only people who praised it was the importfags.

When the game got an english fan patch everyone shat on it.

i havent played it in so long after figuring out the level up trick. i liked the combat but as a whole it didnt keep my interest and i never beat it

It was alright with multiplayer in the PSP version.
Though once I got Ultima and the best multiplayer accessory I walked through the hardest areas in the game like nothing.

You're both right more or less. It was just the english fanpatch that made it "zomg awesome" tier. The moment it came out officially everyone changed their minds.

Literally nobody gave a fuck about it as a game. Just like persona 2 innocent sin, they just wanted the kewlio points for playing something the "plebs" couldn't. The moment it didn't make them feel special anymore, it was shit.

Even on the PS4 Type-0 is still good. I played it on both PSP and PS4

I thought the gameplay was quite fun. Dont use english VAs, even by bad anime dub standards its god awful.
Story is good, especially if willing for multiple play throughs.

That said, find characters you like.
I enjoyed using Eight the most. The fist fighter. Then Sice, Ace, Seven. Jack grew on me too.

I didn't expect the world map, all the random battles and places to go, build variety and actually interesting lore AT ALL when I first went to play this.
Was definitely surprised and it's by far my favourite FF since V.
