Because despite Egypt having the best mythology and empire, it's mired historical revisionism. I can't expect the West to do anything good with it and the east typically prefer Nordic mythology when branching out of their own. That being said when the east does make a game or character based on Egypt, they do a great job. Although Riot's Shurima and ascended characters are worthwhile good mentions from the west.

egypt is closer to phoenicia, greece, carthage, libya, the middle east, and europe in general than it is to sub-saharan africa. geographically speaking, it's a short expedition away from the levant especially.
