What made you guys like Sup Forums?
What made you guys like Sup Forums?
Just talk to fellow idorts, and talk about the games I like with other while sometimes go an autistic rampage of Shitposting, and post Jerk city on Lol threads
Video Games.
;_;
I don't 'like' Sup Forums, I think it's just the least terrible place to discuss video games.
Not even memeing, the negativity. Other sites let games and game companies get off too easy or have an obvious bias for a certain company.
The atmosphere. I get to talk about vidya, loli, lack of belonging, and far-right politics all in one place.
I like video games and shitposting, perfect fit really.
The contrarianism.
Sup Forums was my first back in 2008 because I liked video games so naturally I came to the video game board. Sup Forums was much more popular but I figured that that board's just too much for lil ol' me.
Sup Forums's awful now because of the newfags, redditors, and faggot mods. I don't mind everything else but when you start deleting lolis and unjustly banning for properly cropped porn then you're reinforcing the notion that Sup Forums's the worst board on Sup Forums.
The lack of moderation. It hurts me to see neon Sup Forums sucking mod dick now.
I don't even remember anymore. I feel like I've been here since I was born. I also don't remember when I got here.
videogames without the bullshit
too bad I can't get that anymore thanks to our new guests
I started on Sup Forums and clicked on Sup Forums one day
I only made the transition here because at the time Sup Forums had this stupid word filter for a bunch of phrases and replaced things like faggot with candyass. Hated enough to leave and came here because video games is all I did anyways.
>new guest
Sure kid.
A bunch of retards with a decent sense of humor that like talking about fun games. That Sup Forums is dead now though.
I came for hentai. Then I found Sup Forums. Then I found Sup Forums. And then noticed Sup Forums talks about the weeb games I love. Never got why y'all liked King of the Hill though. But I started to like it, too.
Being able to discuss the less-than-spectacular parts of your favorite games. You'll never be able to go into fan forums and just talk about how barebones Fallout 4 is (even with mods) or how Mother 3's ending was hot fucking Shymalan horseshit.
I liked it because it was Sup Forums without porn. Bite me faggots
>without the bullshit
>then goes on to meme
I've been here longer than you have been born deputy sensei.
Only ever liked anime and games growing up
I NEED anonymity, could never stand forums with usernames
Anime is boring to me now no matter how much I still try to watch it
So Im stuck on Sup Forums
I honestly don't fucking know anymore
What makes you think i like this place... it has decent fnv threads
>refreshes quickly
>actually funny memes
>quality OC
>most posters aren't babbies and know their shit
>controversial opinions aren't hidden/downvoted
sure it's not perfect but it's good
only place i've found thus far where you can be critical of games that aren't already widely considered bad.
I mean i posted here for years and years first but i tried looking at reddit a bit, and the discussion is either on a specific subreddit for the game so no criticism allowed, or on the main subs which are a relelntless optimism circlejerk
I like coming here to bait angry suburban white men with my black hand
I was an edgy teenager and video games were my only hobby. Now 10 years later it is just a shitty habit that's hard to get rid of.
This place is awful but there's really not a better alternative
Also I like the anonymous posting
The BLACKED porn
HOW CAN WHITEBOIS EVEN COMPETE?!
I just scan through the boards late at night looking for cheese pizza
Unironically to keep me up to date vidya-related news and memes. Also a place to shitpost and to catch that special thread that gives you that fuzzy feeling every once in a while
It was like Sup Forums, but with more video games.
>Sup Forums
>videogames
haha ur so funny user
I had to do a reasearch about the autism spectrum in kids aged between 8 and 12. Naturally, I came here for my study.
Found ED, read about the memes, wanted to be "lolepicsorandom weareanonymous etc." and came here.
The posters have a certain unique charm to them.
When it was fun before GG happened.
Now I feel like there are too many shills.
There were shills BEFORE GG you stupid newfaggot god I hate you all.
And I do mean it. I'm not here often anymore.
Consolewars and e-celebs
>how to browse Sup Forums
>wikihow
JUST
Me on the left.
in contrast to Sup Forums, Sup Forums doesn't usually put spoilers in their OPs
thats it, really.
i actually don't browse Sup Forums anymore and just came back for E3, i only really browse /ck/ and /ic/ now.
That's a lewd vegetable
Just as a reminder
The fact that it's not your average shithole forum.
>some fucking retard posts obvious bullshit with nothing to back it up
>call him out on it, and make it clear why he's an idiot
>get banned because that guy is a longtime user, is friendly with the mods, and donates to the site
The fact that posters have no value beyond what they post is great.
Also I like the fact that I can call the mods a bunch of cunts.
Of course there were shills faggot.
What part of "now" and "too many" do you not understand?
This, I used to think the Anonymous culture was really interesting, I've even bought books on the subject.
I'm SSSSSSSSSSSHHHGHOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
what's lewd about it?
Nope wrong again there was no difference in the number of shills. Being preGG, and post GG
>Sup Forums will always discuss both fake and real flaws with every game, and often times more so than the game's pros.
>And I can feel assured in my love for a game if I see these flaws and decide I like the game anyway
That and it's a very nice hodgepodge of all genres and game categories, so I get to learn a lot about games that normally would go unnoticed by me.
Nobody likes Sup Forums.
It's a addictive autistic shitfest where you cannot hold a fucking discussion.
Nope, none at all, just look the other way and deny the apparent, everything is fire, after all.
the lack of actual hobbies
being able to freely discuss topics related to video games
you guys are faster than most outlets at finding the latest vidya news
The realization that easily triggered underage shitposters provide the funniest reactions when something happens in the industry.
>they shit talked my favorite game! fuck Sup Forums it's just an autistic shitfest!
>like Sup Forums
>like
It's a necessary evil.
I like this site, not this shithole of a board. It just happens to focus on a topic I care about.
...
You could actually have somewhat decent discussion about a lot of games compared to other places.
but now this place has hardly any redeeming factors. I don't know why I still come here even
I disagree
Come on lets discuss it faggot
Im having two great game related discussions on other threads right now
Pretty much this. X-box/PS2/Gamecube era Sup Forums was pretty good. Kinda like the smaller nicher boards that are around here. Then Sup Forums got a bunch of Sup Forumstards and went downhill fast.
I stay because the negativity can sometimes be helpful.
In 06, and 05?
Nah literally hasn't changed much
I do not care what games others play you idiots. You could like fucking bubsy and i would not give a shit.
I am talking overall about fucking idiots like console/PC fanboys who cannot shut the fuck up and game fanboys who claim their game was the best thing ever because metacritic gave it a 99/100
Sup Forums was far worse than it is now between 2012-2014.
That is an indisputable fact.
It's essentially anonymity on imageboards, which means no attention whores, no lies, no bullshit.
And then I have an interest in video games, so naturally, I came to Sup Forums.
>Not 2007 though 2009
Close but no cigar
>hurr durr don't talk about video games on the video games board
Anonymity being a big one, no circle jerking because some high rep/post counter poster came into a thread, no bullshit like people using one thing you said in your post history as the basis of their argument.
Other major thing being your allowed to have whatever opinion you want, it might be a stupid one and you get called a faggot for it but you won't be banned for even slightly disagreeing with everyone like on neoFAG.
Nothing this page is utter shit
>I am talking overall about fucking idiots like console/PC fanboys
If you haven't realized by now the vast majority of that garbage is just pure falseflag shitposting. Console wars is extremely easy baits and pretty much guaranteed (You)'s everytime.
Familiarity over time. I remember stumbling upon it and feeling pretty fucking alienated at first, which only inspired me to try and assimilate myself into the culture. After a while, you realize all that grandeur was for nothing and you're just another faggot who get roped into believing that Sup Forums was anything special in the first place. It's a terrible board filled with terrible people whose content varies from guttural trash to occasionally getting a laugh out of me, but at least it's not so polished and upheld by regulation to the point of it just being boring.
>mfw thread after thread about how GOTY CoD4 was
>people now retroactively call it shit because of the sequels, just like RE4
Same for shit like late night Halo threads. People are so quick to shitpost about how THAT WAS NEVER ALLOWED forr fake internet cred than to just let people discuss a game. I just wish people in Halo threads now would stop fucking replying to the Babby's first FPS bait. It derails threads like 50% of the time these days.
lol-threads
waifus
console war shitposting
What I liked (keyword) about Sup Forums was that it saw past the bullshit the industry tried to push through the press never bought it for a second and instead called it out on its bullshit.
I also like the anonymous factor and everyone having an equal opinion when it comes to talking about video games.
Although lately I feel like this place is becoming somewhere where SJW's or video game bloggers come to linger and try and determine what the latest controversy will be so they can amplify and push onto others while sliding in their agenda. e.g. black womens hair, BG&E2 chimp
Nah Sup Forums still had a bit of culture then. We can't even have Spongebob threads anymore because post-ironic memesters from Reddit can't have fun.
>I've been here longer than you
before 2006? somehow I doubt it
the popular boards have always been on the decline but more rabidly in the last couple of years which is more obvious
I come because the memes dont browse themselves, and before the influx of kids on phones, there was plently being made
Now anything over a certain word count its suspect of pasta because of their tiny screens, and the input method being so fucking annoying to type anything lengthy, thoughtful or heaven forbid, original they just parrot whatever recent phrase is being passed around with 'cuck' on it.
Oh and they never organize any of their pictures on phones, so they have about half a dozen different pepes and wojacks they will cycle.
I'm here for the video games butts
Where's that message that says something along the lines of "taking anything posted here seriously would be foolish"?
Be honest Sup Forums, how many of you were underageB& when you first visited the website?
I was about 12 when I stumbled upon here in 2007.
I was 17 in 06, but I spent about two years lurking. I wish Moid hadn't been shut down. I wouldn't have to deal with this shithole.
I came in 07 as a 13 year old but I lurked for a few years.
i can call out on games bullshit without mods freaking out. aka no safespace
No, I was 18 when I found this place in 2003 but I only looked at /h/ for the porn and didn't post until 2006 on Sup Forums when moot had Cotton Eye Joe playing that night
The best thing about Sup Forums is the ridiculously high standards. You can tell everyone how much you hate a game, and you won't really find any other place where you can do that without getting banned.
Sometimes we cry about the janitors but other vidya forums like neogaf are a hundred times worse.
i don't even think i was 16 when i first started browsing. girlfriend's sister browsed Sup Forums daily before she even turned 14 i think.
I don't remember exactly when I started browsing but I think I was 16 or 17 and it was a little while before dubs (Not GETs, dubs) became a major thing
I was 13 when I first came here but i got hooked instantly.
It's a tiny bit scary to think Sup Forums had an important role in my teenage years growth.
There really is a huge difference. There are way more console wars, and way less OC the more time goes on. Occasionally there's a really stupid template made but that's about it.
Not to mention the fact that some time not to long ago everything that isn't a clickbait thread has a 80% chance of dying, and any behavior that deviates from the average braindead responses and shitposting is labelled as an outsider in the most paranoid way possible.
Never until around 2013 and on could I come back to a tab 12 or more hours later, hit F5 and think my page didn't refresh, only to realize that it did and people just use the same images and phrases. I feel like this site could just be 70% bots and nobody would notice.
It was and is the only place where people regularly discuss obscure overlooked games. I remember not liking Sup Forums too much at first but I was hooked when I saw that it discussed games like VTMB (years back when the threads never got more than 50 posts and most of Sup Forums hadn't established it as a classic) or Terranigma. It seemed like noone in the world had played these games before. Plus the anonymity.
I like to be told that my opinions on my favorite games are wrong.
Same. I was really depressed for a lot of my teenage life and I used Sup Forums as escapism to get away from my problems. I think a lot of people are like that though and that I recall just becoming more and more bitter, but at the least that bitterness was focused on vidya and you faggots instead of myself.
Girl threads, CO, loli threads, race wars, vidya fuel, etc.
14, 2009
>Not to mention the fact that some time not to long ago everything that isn't a clickbait thread has a 80% chance of dying,
This is what has killed this board.
>way less OC the more time goes on
This. The only OC we make anymore have to be forced using exploitables and reposting by the same few people until it catches on. Even a few years ago we had stuff like that Spore thread.
Shitposting
Memes
The fact that you can't get banned for real (le dynamic ip / phones)
No usernames or post count or sigs
How many of you strictly post from your desktop?
How many of you strictly post from your phone?
How many of you post from either?
Prisoners usually dont like the prisons their in
