My friend is willing to trade my GTX Gigabyte G1 Gaming 970 with his 980ti except I have to pay WITH the 970, but neither he nor do I know what the market will price this transaction.
I can't find the GPUS on the market and we're still deciding what's a fitting price, on the contrary I have a guy selling me a GTX 970 to SLI it in my system and he's asking for $200.
What is the objectively correct and optimal choice to take her? Thanks.
Trading 970 with 980ti, how much extra should I pay?

Your "friend" sounds like a real scumbag. Do friends charge money and older model iPhones? It's better just to buy a graphics card that you are comfortable with and leave money out of the hands of friends.
$100 at maximum.
Used 980ti's are probably anywhere between $300-400, 970 being around $150-250. So I'd say anywhere between $150-250 to cover the price difference.
>I have a guy selling me a GTX 970 to SLI it in my system and he's asking for $200.
No do not do this. SLI is a meme and can cause some stupid problems and is just a pain in the ass in general. Its performance also wildly varies on if a game support it or not. In many games you will just need to disable it completely and use one card. Buying a single higher end card is always the better be
Buttercup > Bubbles > Blossom
Also the scumbag charging for a SLI should also be ignored. Just buy a fucking console. You'll forever be a slave to outdated technology at this rate.
100
$200 is a bit much for a 970, given that you can get a 1060 for about $30 more. I'd offer the 980ti guy something like $80-100 for the trade, provided his card has a decent cooler.
Is this even in question? No one seriously believes otherwise, right?
Dont do SLI, just save up for a single card with more power.
SLI is generally finnicky, and asides from that, there's more heat and thus more noise. It's cool to look at but after a year of SLI, I wouldn't go back.
I don't know... in that pic Bubbles is pretty much on top.
You guys are insane, we where touching on that 150-200$ price range but he wasn't sure, I just don't see how something so exceptionally more powerful could pass with 100 bucks, or maybe it could. What do I know.
I'll keep convincing him but
A second hand 980Ti is about $200-250 as whole. He's trying to jew you asking for $200. He's basically getting a GPU for free with that money.
That buttercup hnng
>Used 980ti is 250 dollars
No they're not.
I like the SRW versions of the PPG.
I prefer lolita version
.. well?
If you pay a penny more than $100 while giving him your 970, you're getting ripped off. Keep in mind that with the 10x series, the 9x series value has decreased even if they still retail for more. You could use the money you'd be giving him for his 980TI and buy a 1070, which is about the same if not a little better, then sell your 970 to cover the out-of-pocket cost. gpu.userbenchmark.com
