The console itself is the tablet, which gets inserted into the dock to play games on the TV. Some units are have defective docks that are bent inwards and scratch the fuck out of the bezel of the screen. I highly recommend getting a tempered glass screen protector. I also highly recommend not using your Switch exclusively as home console. When judged as a home console it leaves a lot to be desired, but regularly using it in it's handheld mode is where the Switch really shines. Even if you don't plan on going anywhere, it's great for around the house.
