Alright, the children are asleep which means that I shouldn't have to bump this 10 times to keep it on page 1

Alright, the children are asleep which means that I shouldn't have to bump this 10 times to keep it on page 1.

I want to get into the 4X genre without experiencing any buyer's remorse of starting at the wrong game. I'm looking for something with decent amount of planet management. High focus on combat and ship design possibilities isn't a must, but high exploration would be. I want something with a lot of star systems and planets. Come at me, galactic emperors.

Bump!

Master of Orion 2, can't go wrong with that.

...

...

This. MOO2 is the best space 4X to start with.

Don't make me do this.

That's one, thanks.

The newest masters of orion, while not as advanced as the originals, is still pretty fun and easy to get into.

You can't go wrong with stellaris though, lots of ways to challenge yourself.

...

I'd say that ES2, but I'm biased because it's so good.
Stellaris has some interesting mechanics and quests, but core gameplay is steaming pile of shit.
Distant Worlds is autismo tier, not a good entry game. Don't know much about anything other because I didn't play them.

Yes I was considering it, despite the atrocious pile of DLC that I'd be begrudged into buying it.

I like the look of ES2. When I get a new computer I'll definitely look into it.
>Stellaris
>core gameplay is steaming pile of shit
I'd like to hear more on this, please explain.
>Distant Worlds is autismo tier
Elaborate more on this as well, please.

Stellaris if you like Paradox grandstrategy games, it's basically Europa Universalis in space.

Endless Space 2, way better than ES1 in almost every way, Still has some bugs and balancing issues, but that's a given when it's the latest in the genre.

GalCiv's are ok, would play 2 over 3, but im only saying that because my experience with 3's release where it was pretty much unplayable for me.

Master of orion series is great, only one of the series you should really avoid is MoO 3. The new reboot one is ok, but pretty light in mechanics when compared to 2, A good starter to the genre.

Sword of the Stars is another gr8 game, SotS 2 is kinda iffy with the devs repeatedly shitting the bed during the updates, Play 1 for optimal experience.

Distant universe is a fun one, you can either manually do everything and go insane or automate the whole running of the empire outside of a few important decissions. A interestign game, but would not use it as a starter to the 4x Genre.

>Sword of the Stars
Yes! One my OP collage didn't mention.
>Distant universe
>would not use it as a starter
Noted.
>GalCiv2 very likely >3
noted.
>ES2>1
noted.
>MoO2>>>
>good starter
noted.
>Stellaris
>grandstrategy
>EU
never played EU or CK2. But I heard CK2 is very detailed with politician stats, heirs, the very detailed stuff. And I'm going to guess EU is like that, too. Which would mean Stellaris is like that too.
Noted.

Stars in Shadow is pretty fun, but it's made by a bunch of MoO fans so it's pretty much another MoO game. Play if you like MoO 2.

...

Never heard of this one. Will look into it.

OP, you can't bump your own thread, you can stop posting this unattractive woman now.
