Let's discuss things that are quietly overpowered as shit.
Exhibit A: The Dark Souls 1 Falchion. This weapon is disgustingly powerful for how simple and easy it is to obtain. At 40 Dex its 2hR1 spam has the highest DPS of any weapon in the game, and it can be buffed, and it has good range, and it costs virtually no stamina and has an extremely fast recovery.
Many of the most OP weapons in DS1 are only powerful in the early game when you have no stats, or in the super late game where you have stats out the ass. The Falchion can carry a player from the moment they pick it up, well into multiple NG+ cycles.
>tfw i pick the cheesiest build of each souls game because i only care about story and plat DeS: FTH build Lucerne DaS: STR build BKGA DaS2: STR build Great Club BB: SKL build BoM DaS3: QLY build Longsword
feels good to be shameless
Sebastian Hernandez
that was my shit on pvp
Lucas Cruz
This bad boy.
I mean, sure you need to beat someone in combat before you can torture them into submission, but the Avatar respawns in the last level and it's a huge help if you corrupted him the first time, plus all his friends.
Gavin Johnson
Rusted Weapons in Dragon's Dogma or the Blessed magic Bolt from a charged Square/X attack with a staff.
One poisons/slows a target to the point of making them user-issue while the other does MASSIVE damage to enemies and HEALS YOU for the damage done.
Both available very quickly in the beginning of the game.
Hudson Phillips
Bloodborne's a cake walk with Bloodtinge builds. The damage output from just one Shot of your gun is ludicrous.
Jordan Hill
>At 40 Dex its 2hR1 spam has the highest DPS of any weapon in the game Falchion is very good, but the Painting Guardian Sword has higher DPS.
Zachary Reed
The rusted bow was so fucking good, at 3 stars you could slow, poison, and destroy anything with a 5-fold arrow attack.
I don't know if there was a rusted longbow but if it was it was probably the strongest weapon in the game with the 7-fold arrow.
Dominic King
If you wanted to walk into a town and murder every god damn player you see, it might as well be with one of these.
Lucas Young
I gotta try this. You can buy the rusted weapon from some merchant, I recall
Elijah Bennett
>things that are quietly overpowered as shit.
THIS FUCKING COCKSUCKING PIECE OF SHIT FAGGOT MOTHERFUCKING BITCHFAG SON OF A BITCH BASTERD is a good example
Daniel Nelson
Nah, the Zweihander is the easiest weapon to use in the game and you can get it five mins in.
Works early game, works late game, works in PVP, and feels fantastic to use.
Not even very good stat scaling, fuck your falchion, I fucked up your kind back then in the forest and I could go back and do it again, it's not that good dexfag.
Ian Wood
DS3 anri sword with a luck build Before the nerf practically no one knew this shit was busted You got absurd dmg on a sword that took damn near no stamina to use, it was something.
DS1 gold tracer and that one half dragon bitch's scythe, okay so the scythe is more so known but wasn't used a ton. The gold tracer on the other hand I've never seen used all that much in pvp. The damn thing was a fast bleed wep that broke poise pretty fast, so poise fags and turtling fags never saw it coming when you whipped it out.
Xavier Mitchell
The blood of mothers and fathers stained my Lifehunt Scythe
Angel Brown
Yeah, but then you have to manage your bullets. Just play strength with the axe starter and snooze through the game.
Jordan Jenkins
Are BoM good for PVE? Seem like a straight PVP weapon. Honestly all the skill weapons do except maybe the Saif and Pick.
Sebastian Smith
Gold Tracer is Falchion + great bleed and cool effects, it was very popular along with the Fury Sword.
Jordan Torres

Mesa from Warframe.
Everyone who plays warframe knows Mesa is strong, but call her what she is, the strongest frame in the game, and people will call you crazy. It's the total truth though. No other frame combines the survivability and raw damage output that this frame does. She obliterates every enemy on her screen in a matter of seconds and can just stand there taking bullets to the face and not giving a fuck because lol 95% damage reduction. She will regularly do 80% of a teams damage all by herself while the rest of the team sits and twiddles their thumbs because theres no point in trying to kill anything before Mesa does. I actually don't even play this frame anymore because she just trivializes every bit of content in the game and I feel bad not letting the other people in the squad do anything.
Gabriel Rogers
That stupid fucking crossbow in TF2. Got some dipshit halfway across the map who's about to die? Left click for an instant 60HP boost. Got some cuntfuck scout who's running away with the intel? He thinks you're just a medic with the crappy syringe gun that has a range of 3 feet, slap his shit for half his health in one shot. It's ridiculous and the medic's functional equivalent of the Direct Hit. If you have even the slightest modicum of ability to lead your shots then you become retard good in an instant.
Jackson Gray
They're only good against enemies that stagger real easy. They have garbage range, barring the dash attack, and the only real damage they get is the tricked r1 spam. Don't get me wrong, it's probably the highest dps of any weapon if you can maintain it, but such situations are few and far between.
Kayden Richardson
Zwei's problem, like literally every STR weapon is Dark Souls, is that it's too damn slow.
1 hit for 500 damage is not the same as 2 hits for 250 damage each, especially if those hits come out faster, recover faster, and use up less stamina. Add buffs into the equation, and now your Zwei is doing maybe 650-700 damage per swing while I'm doing 500 damage per swing and I can keep swinging as long as I want.
Mason Edwards
>mfw got BKH drop on 1st blind play through >that point on game is a breeze
The axe and sword are always talked about, but the halberd was just as OP and was the best one to use with a shield.
William Jackson
>when you use it along with that +50% sorcery length ring Hell you can put some great magic weapon on top of that too with little INT investment. It also had stamina boost so with the stamina ring plus grass crest shield you got instant stamina recovery even without child mask. Now I will make a new character with these just to see how fast I can kill the bosses.
Adam White
dark souls 2 cleric starting mace
Juan Roberts
As soon as I saw how stupidly strong Raw Astora's was, then looked at Anri's base stats and scaling, I knew it was going to be bonkers. Speedrunners were planning whole runs around getting to Anri and leveling up Luck as early as possible.
I'm honestly so mad that they nerfed it because Luck builds are my favorite builds in any game, and DS3 seemed like it finally made Luck a viable stat to invest in, and then they go and gut all the things that made Luck nice to begin with. It's like how DS2 gutted Zeus builds.
Anthony Bell
iirc the Painting Guardian Sword actually outdamages it + procs bleed, but it's range is absolute shit
Benjamin Campbell
The AOE fire spells in Demons Souls
You can beat most bosses with only like 4-6 fucking casts if your equipment is right
Not sure if it counts but the pyromancy and talisman glitch from dark souls 3 was fucking fun as shit to use. I'm assuming it's been fixed now though. (Maybe not hopefully?)
Logan Roberts
>quietly overpowered >posts the most notorious gankspanking build from DaS1
as always, OP is a fag
David Lewis
This. Underrated as fuck, just about every enemy takes massive damage from maces and the staggering and speed makes it east to stunlock most enemies. The only negative is the extra short range.
Blake Morris
The machine pistols in Rainbow 6 Siege, but mostly the SMG-11.
In a game with one hit kill headshots from any range with any weapon, the best types of weapons to use are those with high fire rate and low recoil. This kind of gun allows you to get more accurate shots towards a head and win firefights faster. The SMG-11 fits this description perfectly, boasting the highest fire rate in the game while accommodated by low recoil. This wouldn't be a problem at all, if it weren't a fucking secondary weapon. Yes, this monster of a gun competes against pistols.
Hardly anyone agrees that this gun (and the only other machine pistol in the game, which goes to show you how hesitant the devs are to add these things in) is in need of a rebalance. In fact, you're more likely to find people who defend their crutch gun to the death, especially after having it's ACOG sight removed. This only took the retarded devs a better part of a year to come to the conclusion that having a pocket sniper isn't balanced. The worst part about machine pistols in this game is the operators who have access to them. Great primary gun, universally useful and round influencing gadget, and 3 speed? Sounds like they need some extra firepower! Mid tier gun, near useless or situational gadget, and 1 speed? Whoa now, that would be a little too much.
Nathaniel Williams
The trade off is that the Zwei can hit multiple enemies at once, immediately stagger most enemies, and tank through hits better because poise.
Carter Brooks
Agree with this user, and it also feels damn good to use.
Eh, as a scrub gold1 player they seem fine to me, in fact almost every weapon feels viable to me including shotguns on defense on certain maps.
James Bell
So stick with the pick/saif/maybe rakuyo for a skill build in pve?
Austin Stewart
BoM are great until you get to ToH. Research lab and Ludwig with them being my only +5 weapon was awful.
Dylan Barnes
Rapier is insane in DaS2, especially Ricards.
Anthony Hernandez
I used the BoM through to NG+4 and cleared the DLC and chalice dungeon final boss with them. There was one boss I simply could not beat but I don't think it was my weapon's fault, and it was the cursed chalice dungeon darkbeast.
Easton Miller
>Play OS Runescape >Erryone sucking dick for Berserker pures >Meanwhile mage pures fly under the radar
Grinding out the Attack level to equip a Toxic Staff of the Dead with only 45 strength sucks ass though.
Aaron Reed
Yeah, I mean, as always, pick whatever weapon you want and make it work for you, but for versatility and ease-of-use, Pick and Saif are going to be way better options than BoM. Could still be a good pickup early game if you don't mind cheesing whats-her-face to death. That's where the most staggerable enemies are anyways.
Thrusting swords were disgusting in that game due to the way they changed Counter Hits. In DS1 Counter Hits were pretty rare, kind of gimmicky. You could only pull them off if you were tanking behind a tower shield or something, but when DS2 changed the rules so that a Counter Hit was any time you hit an enemy during its attack animation, high Counter weapons like Thrusting swords got real busted, real fast.
RoBFlynn + Leo Ring + Power Stanced Thrusting Swords did something like 1400 damage per hit. Goddamned disgusting.
Charles Hughes
I've been interested to try out Warframe for longest time. Should start it this summer. Is it good Idea to unlock this frame immediately with like real money?
Why would you come on to the internet and spout lies? It does NOT have the highest DPS in the game with 40 main stat, that title goes to the BKGA. It does, however, have the highest DPS in the game if you include weapon enchantments.
Grayson Taylor
Do not play Warframe. You have been warned.
Eli Gomez
But why?
Jason Cook
This thing was the shit, pre-patch back in the day
Easton Scott
Not that user. Don't do it. You'll grind to unlock more efficient grinding so you can... do nothing
Jaxon Mitchell
All there is to the game is multiple levels of grindception.
Jace Morales
it's literally grind to grind the game there's literally nothing else to do
Chase White
Play it for the booty, nothing else.
Chase Wright
It's a shit game and the devs are shit. You will regret all the time and money you spent on that game.
It's a game based around grinding where the bosses are designed intentionally so you can't steamroll them. That normally wouldn't be a problem but they use cheap shit like invincibility periods instead of actual mechanics.
Not only that but it's just a multi-layered grind. You grind to get items so you can grind in exclusive areas so you can grind for pieces so you can grind for the pieces of those pieces.
Brayden Miller
The absolutely absurd amount of grinding because of RNG loot tables and waiting on the foundry.
Ian Howard
Instead of playing the game you could just learn 3D animation and rendering and just make your own warframe porn
Jeremiah Clark
There's no way it was the intended functionality
Jonathan Miller
>instead of playing a game where assets are already there, put effort and work in to wank to your own stuff user, do you know where we are.
Jace Phillips
Thanks for the heads up guys, I'll skip it then if there really isn't much else except the endless grind.
Nicholas Watson
>dexfag Fuckin disgusting
Michael Roberts
Try it anyway for a few hours. You'll either like it or hate it. Remember, never take advice from Sup Forums. Sup Forums hates videogames.
Kevin Butler
When Ancient magicks first came out that was the most broken shit there has ever been.
Brandon Jackson
The thing was amazing, used it on my 360 with no idea how powerful it was at first, when i found out about the patch I played offline to avoid the nerf
Sebastian Hernandez
>Ancient
No nigger. Fire Wave. Tome of Fire, Occult Neck, Smoke Battlestaff. Max hit 36 at 51 combat.
Parker Gomez
PGS is the Falchion for skilled players user, let the babbies play with their toys
>Falchion and a maxed Pyro flame in each hand >45 DEX >a shitload of attunement and pyromancies (can't remember the exact ones, but at least two attunements of great cumblast, black flame, great fireball, fire surge, and firestorm) >Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring, Wolf Ring, Dusk set + giant gauntlets Behold: Rape Incarnate If you start as the right class and minmax the stats with this loadout you end up at SL120 with a lightrolling character with poise enough to tank a hit from anything, that can sling two souped-up Great Combustions a second due to the DEX casting speed boost. Absolutely tears through Giantdads and Havelmoms.
Jackson Wright
Obviously not because I assumed you were talking about Runescape when it was Old School rather than a specific Old School Runescape. I haven't played the game since like 2005.
Jace Ortiz
You're way out of the loot. Jagex tried to turn Runescape into a WoW clone. It failed abysmally hard. Eventually they started up some Legacy servers from a backup a week before the Wilderness removal in 2007, which took off like a rocket. It started out with 1 developer, 1 manager and 1 Q&A guy on the team, but has been expanded to be the main focus of Jagex, since it gets roughly twice as many players as RS3.
Gabriel Gray
Oh cool, so they brought back the wilderness? Did they fix all the issues the grand exchange stuff caused?
Aaron Hill
For a while. Unfortunately there was a massive reddit campaign that convinced them to reintroduce the GE itself.
Grayson Perez
Bitch please. Posting an actual tier list.
Cooper Morales
>stone greatsword+magic stuff
kek
Juan Harris
>there are people out there who follow "the dark souls meta" and stick to level 125 because "muh peeveepee"
I never understood this? Is this suppose to be fun? Because its not, especially in DS1 when your enemy can always pop a humanity in a snap and get back to full health, so why stick to low stats and not go all out, its even more fun this way because when you got most of your stats high enough, anything goes and makes pvp more interesting instead of fighting the same fucking dumbass with one of the 4 fucking builds everyone does because they cant think of something on their own. Normally i dont care how people play their games, but i just wish people actually use their brains and be creative.
Christopher Brown
>MFW all the fight clubs I won with my great scythe
the running attack was so fucking good
Jack Parker
You're matched by soul level relative to other players. Low SL makes it impossible to use most builds while high SL makes it impossible to find people. 125 is the generally agreed upon level that maximizes rate of finding people while also unlocking nearly all builds as an option.
Andrew Cruz
It won't work against competent players, mind you. Now when the only people left in the game are giantmoms you will just get poisestabbed for trying to use it.
Henry Green
not really, it's only used so fags have max health max endurance max damage stats and enough left over for a buff spell
Jackson Davis
It's a wasted opportunity at its finest. The movement and fighting feels great initially, but soon you realise that all enemies are either so easy you can defeat them with one hand on your dick, or so tough that it's more sensible to just run to the objective instead of bothering to fight them - no middle ground. The powers could have been distinct and cool, but almost all of them are so overpowered that they pretty much boil down to "activate to one shot a group of enemies". The design is great and the game has a huge story potential, but there is almost no plot, no lore and missions are randomly generated repetitive bullshit. And oh, the grinding. Basically they could have had a great game, but somehow fucked up every single aspect.
John Williams
125 is the "I just need a few more levels I promise" fag tier
big boys play at 120
real men play at 100
manchildren play at sl1 and invade the parish with +15 everything
Jayden Morris
Like i said, its still quite limited, what if i wanted to try out some minor spells and see how that goes? but i cant because i'll probably wont have any attunement. same goes for any sword if i was either building str or dex. I did the giant cheese in DS2 on one character and got very high in matchmaking range, went ahead and did some pvp in arenas and it wasnt that bad, and if i ever wanted to try some silly new build i did just that saving myself from grinding a new character in the process. I dont mind making many new characters but having these made up rules is silly.
>finally reached undead purgatory >"Oh sweet, dont mind me some pvp action" >Duelist found >Dark Weapon + kat >"meh, well alright, lets fight someone else..." >Duelist found >Sacret oath + lighting weapon >mfw
Logan Perez
but the GE was a shit.
Austin Cook
99 should really be where people stop. It leaves you just out of range of both 80 and 120, which I always hear as the common ones. 120 always seemed too high to me as well though.
Xavier Carter
Yes but reddit autists don't want to have to talk to people to trade.
David Thompson
plus it attracted the mistresses, who were great fighters at high levels >speed spell >lightning spell >kinky as fuck
>tfw strider pawn with gold forged rusted bow bbi 2.0 became a cakewalk and i got millions of rc
Carson Ramirez
The Purgatory punishes players for losing so you'd be foolish to not go in and cover yourself in cheese.
Matthew Myers
This is why MMOs suck now, they've gone from Social games to just garbage solo games.
Eli Russell
I agree, the moment i got BKH it carried all the way to the end. That with full havel armor cheeses the entire game.
Ian Campbell
THE cheesiest shit in DeS was definitely dragonbone smasher with curse weapon and hypermode. Lucerne and greatax FTH builds were pretty neat as well, if a little obvious. I always had trouble with the maneaters and 2kat faggots, but with the DBS+curse they all died with one or two hits. No one ever saw the roll+r1 coming.
Robert Bailey
Washing Pole is, unironically so, pretty balanced.
Carter Green
DS1 washing pole was garbage.
Dominic Bennett
idk the Lifehunt scythe was the shit in pvp
Colton Ramirez
False.
Lincoln Wilson
Play with it against any competent opponent and you will get destroyed. It's slower than other katanas which makes it hilariously unsafe to use in a game with overpowered poise. If you want a weapon with range, you use spear. If you want to use katana, you use chaos blade. It's that simple.
Nolan Murphy
MFW i main the gargoyle halberd with maxed pyro on my level 8 file, and pvp the shit out of level 200s in anor londo
