Form your party based on who is better in battle

>Form your party based on who is better in battle
>Form your party based on who you like better or who is more appropriate story-wise for where you're going
Pick a side, Sup Forums. No fence sitting.

Which characters I like the most
If I'm replaying a game then I'll try and pick characters I didn't pick the first time.

this

Depends on the game. Most games you can get away with fielding whoever you want.

who I like better. don't care if they're shit, I'll find a way to make them work

who I like, hands down.
I don't care if sheena isn't the best character in the game, she's mai waifu and i will not ignore her.

If the game has a decent story that I'm interested in, then I base it on relevant characters for that moment of the story.
I just finished Trails in the Sky and found myself jumping through all the characters all the time for what I expected to be their appropriate moments in the story. It did not disappoint.

I just pick whi I want abd sometimes swap then aroubd for fun.

First time through, play who you like. Second time through, try to break the game in half. Third time through, pick your favorite character/class, then pick the 1-3 party members/classes that makes your favorite shine the brightest.

fpbp

that said I'll use Fran every playthrough of FFXII no matter what because hot black bunny girl butt

Pick MC + all girls. Or just all girls.

In Berseria's case, all three girls + Laphicet.

Who I like better. If I'm playing a game with PvP, I'll probably use a few strong units, but try to at least include my favorite/s.

Compromise. I optimize but I won't pick characters I despise, even if they're the best.

Does this include who is the cutest? I'll even struggle through with a weak cute party.

Better in battle obviously

>tfw your waifu is in a game with a shit ton of other characters
>she's completely outclassed in her role by at least three other characters
>end up never using her in all of the games in her series
Send help. Also guess character/series.

The latter. No need to min/max in genres as piss easy as RPGs.

Cute girls only.

>Is game skill based
Form party based on stats/skills/effectiveness
>Is party level/grind based
Form party based on who I like the most

In JRPGs where I can overlevel I'll pick whoever the fuck I want. In dungeon crawlers or other harder RPGs I'm only going to use characters that synergize together.

Depends on the game and how much I give a fuck. For puzzle and dragon I formed my team based around the character and element that I like despite the fact that it isn't the best. I don't even care enough to do research on the game. Same with Fire Emblem Heroes. For something like Granblue Fantasy and F/GO I did extensive research because those games had a bit of depth to it that I didn't know about and that led me to min/maxing my teams.

This

Only cute girls belong to my party.
