Expecting good Nintendo sales in the UK is like expecting DC fanboys to admit Marvel is kicking their ass in the movie department. UK has always been Sony land. 3D World, Splatoon and Breath of the Wild which are all multimillion sellers worldwide had average at best launches in the UK. Splatoon in particular failed to top the charts despite coming out weeks after The Witcher 3.

It's like the only new game in the list and it still lots, embarrassing but not even slightly unexpected.

I'm surprised given there have been limited Switches to buy in the UK since the start. After the initial batch Switches have been few and far between. I can't find stock anywhere right now outside of scalpers. The last order that Argos got consisted of just 4 units for the whole country.

Price cut on Horizon or not, letting it beat a BRAND NEW multiplayer game is pretty shameful. It is not like a ton of news was generated about a price cut date in the coming weeks like there is press about a new game release.

Well yeah, uk is pretty shit. They have pretty much the worst taste out of every single country in the world.
FIFA shit sells the most there, generic Ubisoft open world shit sells the most there, rehash cod games sell the most there, and so on.
They're total Sony fags except they also don't even buy any of the good PS4 exclusives like Persona or Gravity Rush, in fact the UK is one of the worst markets for those types of games.
When you look at how the UK is doing in other things like politics and laws and such it just becomes obvious that a very large portion of the population enjoys eating shit.

Same thing happened to Splatoon. It isn't new, UK has very specific tastes and favor price/affordability. Why do you think Minecraft and GTA kept dominating the charts months, even years after even newer games were coming out?

Pretty sure the Wii was the only console Nintendo had in the UK (aside from portables) that ever did well. Even during the SNES days they were always bigger on Sega and Sonic was considered a lot more popular of a mascot. It's probably why the Wii bundles of Mario & Sonic propelled sales there for months.
