Am I literally the only guy on v that prefers FO3 to nv? Now before you all jump down my throat, YES...

Am I literally the only guy on v that prefers FO3 to nv? Now before you all jump down my throat, YES, NV has much better writing, that much is clear. Honestly though I don't think it had half the atmosphere that FO3 had. The desert is just so ugly and blocky, it totally breaks any immersion I could've had.

Also, as good as the writing is, it's totally overblown. Fallout 3 is B movie garbage that knows it's B movie garbage and it never really tries to be more, I can respect that. FNV on the other hand doesn't always have the great writing to match it's grand ambitions and can honestly come across as kind of pseudo intellectual from time to time.

ALSO, FO3s missions all felt more essential to me desu. FNV has a shit ton of filler, a shit ton of fetch quests, which is pretty unbearable considering how bland and lifeless the Mojave is.

Also a few positive notes about FO3 that don't get mentioned enough IMO

The pacing is wonderful
The voice actors knocked it out of the park
The locations are fantastic and extremely memorable
Point lookout is the best DLC in any fallout game, desu

With all that said, FO3, to me, will always be bethesdas crowning achievement and easily the best FO game ever made.

roll

FNVs fanbase is also incredibly obnoxious too, another negative.

oh shidd

...

I personally enjoyed playing 3 more than new vegas as well. Then again I did play the game of the year edition which probably improved my view of it

This isn't an argument. FNV fans are just about as pseudo intellectual as the game itself I guess.

Keep posting memes though, you're only proving my point.

Am I literally the only guy on v that prefers FNV to 3? Now before you all jump down my throat, YES, 3 has much better atmosphere, that much is clear. Honestly though I don't think it had half the writing that NV had. The Capital Wasteland is just so ugly and blocky, it totally breaks any immersion I could've had.

With all that said, NV, to me, will always be Obsidians crowning achievement and easily the best FO game ever made.

I agree with most of this but realize we're in a minority.

>Old World Blues is the best DLC in any fallout game

These people exist.

No, I liked 3 more than NV simply because I hate roleplaying in these games and prefer to do just 1 playthrough and be done with them. No idea why id want to roleplay as a cowboy or some other desert archetype. Unfortunately Sup Forums has one of the most autistic NV and obsidian fanboys on the internet. Of course none of them would go back to playing unmodded NV, because, well, its just not that great either.

Yeah no I agree. NV was boring.

but it's true user.
what DLC would you put above OWB

This

All of them are shit.

FO3 was my adolescence
FNV was my adulthood

also I'm 22 so not underage.

>The voice actors knocked it out of the park
oh lord

jesus christ

is that you, Todd? Why is Bethesda so aggressively mediocre?

You're not alone, I prefer 3 to NV too.
Shit, NV has more bugs than F3.
Obsidrones will defend NV till death on v tho.

>The voice actors knocked it out of the park
>The locations are fantastic and extremely memorable
>easily the best FO game ever made
None of those are good games, but Fallout 3 is irredeemable garbage. Next time try to make your bait thread a little less obvious though.

You had me going until the end, 5/10.

>Someone has differing opinion
>Must be bait

NV fanboys are the worst

TTW master race

shut the fuck up op

>Am I literally the only guy on v that prefers FO3 to nv?
stopped reading, go fuck yourself

this is no longer an arguable topic. you are wrong. just swallow it and let it go.

>Someone posts obvious bait
>Doesn't even read your reply
Shitposters are the worst

No.

I feel the same.

NV has better writing, but 3 is more fun as a sandbox game.

-> I prefer Fallout 3

>It's another NVfag can't accept others have different opinions than him episode

Like said, most of the NV fan base is irritatingly autistic.

>Fallout 3
>Find your Dad

>Fallout New Vegas
>Get Revenge

>Fallout 4
>Find your son

On premise alone, New Vegas trumps the most recent games by allowing more freedom in role playing.

Nah, there are a few other contrarians on here too, it's not just you

rawling

you think you do but you don't

it's not different opinions, it's wrong opinions. there are no legs to stand on when evaluating the two games from any standpoint that holds game design or roleplaying as a value

New Vegas is longer, more in depth mechanically and in the narrative, is more replayable, has more build variety, has more well written characters, has more and better weapons, is less buggy in its current state, has better mod support, etc etc etc.

the only thing you can say is that you prefer the fo3 radio songs or like green more then orange and then pretend that turning off your brain and focusing on "atmosphere" is the same as actually playing a game

>there are no legs to stand on
hate when they do this in fps

...

Wow
Are NV fanboys the worst type of fanboys? I'm starting to wonder.

you can't say one thing in favor of fo3 that is either untrue factually or as basic as preferring one color over another

I already said I prefer the campy writing of FO3 over the self serious bull shit FNV dishes out, you fucking retard.

>Am I literally the only guy on v that prefers FO3 to nv?

No OP, I do prefer F3 over NV 100000 times more. It's more comfy to walk around ruins of the city than stupid desert...

>I prefer nonsensical cheesy linear quirkiness over cheesy quirkiness with purposeful roleplaying built into it and world design that fits hand in hand with the narrative
again, your opinion is objectively wrong. you prefer the thing that is worse. just because you like it doesn't make it good or better.

Fallout 3 did a number of things better:
>better dungeons
>better random encounters (because, unlike NV, they actually had them)
>better map design and layout
>better DLC
>more imaginative locations
>better side quests (there are only 2 fetch quests in the entire game and they have more branching paths)

Any of those reasons alone is enough to have a preference for 3 over NV.

It crashes every 3 seconds on my Pc so NV wins hands down

>better map design and layout
>small areas walled off by knee high walls all connected by thousands of miles of copy and paste metros

what the FUCK did he mean by this?

Yeah. A bunch of orange desert that looks like playdough is sooo much better.

>The voice actors knocked it out of the park
Yeah sure, blowing the budget on Liam Neeson and then only having a few other voices for every other NPC in the world is really "blowing it out of the park".

J.K. rolling

Hoppas jag

Eh. Fuck it.

Rolling.

>implying DC is representative of the entire map

What did he mean by this?

They both are terrible.

NV can at least pretend to be an RPG because it has decent writing but it is still mediocre because it is based around a game that is terrible.

Spreading shit on a waffle doesn't make it magically become Nutella.
