Cyberpunk every time
Dark fantasy stuff like dragons dogma
Beach zones, especially in multiplayer games.
Urban
massive structures
the bigger the better
Deserts with automobiles
Tropical archipelagos
Snowy wilderness with solidly built human structures (pic very related)
Trains, preferably ones that go through deserts, prairies and mountains
Dystopian cyberpunk cities with skeezy bars
>tits: dfc/mega milk
At a masked orgy party
Beaches. Must've been Sonic Adventure that put the idea in my head.
glorious Japan
borderless windowed
SotC was pretty good at those. Same thing for Journey if you consider the mountain as a partial structure (it does appear to have an ant hills worth of tunnel networks and inner chambers)

I'm not gonna say the game is great or anything but boy did the soundtrack carry it.
For its time it was fantastic and I still think it holds up in a lot of ways. In particular, I think Adventure Sonic is the most satisfying to control out of all the 3D Sonics (the official ones, at least). Spin Dash Jumping to take shortcuts is great and the modding community did a good job to spruce things up, such as letting you play as Super Sonic in normal levels.
I'll second this. Orbital megastructures are fine too
Yeah I don't think it's a bad game. I can just understand if someone doesn't like it.

ALSO THE MOON
FUCK MOON LEVELS ARE SO GOOD
ESPECIALLY IF YOU JUMP TWICE AS HIGH

Thanks guys, you're alright. Also, I love cyberpunk
Are there any games with levels like pic related? With lots of colour on a rainy city at night?
I'M ON THE MOTHERFUCKING MOON!
Personally I liked GTA's rain, I imagine it looks even better modded.
Also, gonna keep this quality thread bumped with sprite art
Industrial complexes at night
Shipyards
Jungles
Sleeping Dogs
Something that's bizarre but not too bizarre to the point where you can't really connect with it or take it seriously.
The NieR games are a good example of this.

Coal mining/steam punk towns
I wish they had remade this instead.
Russia in wintertime is a personal favourite of mine
Ski lodge/town
Why? It's aged like a fine wine. I can understand wanting a VII remake because the early 3D models are objectively trash by todays standards.

I like fantasy settings desu, but I really wish more devs would use Celtic folklore/mythology instead of medieval Europe as inspiration for their fantasy worlds
You are the first person I've seen on this place with a reasonable opinion of this game. Good for you.
...
Anachronistic practices of magic, old religions, and the supernatural in contemporary settings. Pic mostly unrelated,
True Medieval fantasy, not that gook "JRPG" garbage either. More along the lines of Gothic and Witcher.
I loved the setting for Prisoner of War on the ps2, I wish their were more games in this style

Holy shit this image, some woke material right here.
Advanced civilization destroyed, only to be replaced by fantasy.
Any games other than SMT use Canaanite and/or Pagan-Judaic mythology? Artificial Difficulty Mode: And have it take place in a futuristic setting?
Castles
It's hard to describe but I like it when with the most ridiculous things are treated absolutely seriously in universe. Giant mechs? Robot dogs? People react with the same grimness as the would a to real life tank.
What would be the word for it? "Emotional realism"?
Desert by far
I also really liked the congo in mgs5
Here's something slightly more Sup Forums
Gotta climb that tower
I like destroyed cities, large industrial areas, towers. Also, futuristic cities filled with massive buildings and anything with lots of concrete and metal.
Africa is easily the worst out of the 2 maps in MGSV. Afghanistan is better.
>you can climb the outside of the castle
>fighting on the upper balconies/walkways
I know what you mean, MGS does this constantly.
Demons and hell. There is a reason for Diablo and Doom being installed on my toaster 10+years
Post apoc
Sky islands and air ships
Ruins
Any good air ship games? Only thing I currently know of is Worlds Adrift but that's EA/Beta stuff right now.
>Any good air ship games?
Guns of Icarus comes to mind but it's shit.
Whatever the hell Dishonored is, Victorian Steampunk I think?
Yeah, MGS is a good example
Skygunner, it's Ace Combat with a heaping helping of Megaman Legends, prepared by Fatlus.

I wish I weren't such a fedora lord so I could genuinely look forward to it instead of lying awake for three hours every night.
