all that indie shit looks pretentious but Wario Land 4 is godly. Punchout and Kirby are good shit too

>Gimmick!
extremely excellent tastes
>Pointless instead of Painful
haven't played pointless but seems like a strange choice

1/1 punchout was a cool game

...

there's been too many of these, i miss when we'd have 3x3 threads and they'd go into the hundreds with lots of discussions along the way. now we get a lot but they never seem to last too long

2/2 +Lisa and warioland

2/2 Desperately need to play ZX. Considered putting one of the Z games on my 3x3.

3/4 Melty Blood is an actual decent game? I guess I'll have to try it. Do I need anything other than having read Tsukihime and FSN to enjoy it?

7/7

FO2 and planetscape are the only 2 I played

were pretty good tho

Megami Tensei love!!!

I posted this in the last one, too. Love 3x3 threads.

2/2 Sonic Master System? Woah.

Melty Blood for me is a very unique game in mobility and pressure.
It doesn't have the insane 50/50s of Capcom games or the unstoppable pressure you can have in ArcSystemWorks, but universally all characters have insane movement across the screen, and thus has air footsies over the typical shuffling, baiting, or backdashes.

Down block is strong but the amount of frametraps and corner pressure most characters can do in unique ways will immediately make any SF turtler hate the game. Like persistent projectiles, being able to drop down to neutral from jumps, multihit heavies that count as projectiles, and even auto-bursts in the Half Moon combat style so it resets back to corner approach than neutral when you get a hit in.

The Last of Us was a snore.
Wolfenstein had too many cutscenes and stay in cover headshots were too effective.

>putting more than one game per franchise in your 3x3
Not sure how I feel about that.

You bet! There's so much about that game I love. It's simple, but it's really polished. All of the levels have cool things about them (going up Jungle Act 2 is really fun) or cool secrets to find. You can skip through all of Green Hill Act 1 (loved this as a kid), and there's a part in Labyrinth where you need to find an invincibility monitor to get a Chaos Emerald in a bed of spikes. It's more difficult than your average Sonic game at first, but it really rewards you with a fun game once you learn it. It's a joy to play.

Ancient is one of my favorite developers. They made Gotta Protectors, another game with great attention to detail: youtube.com/watch?v=t96iE-T2MSo

>putting more than one game per franchise in your 3x3
you must hate me then

I think bottom right is muv luv.

You need to play Yoshi's though user. It's definitely my favorite platformer.

3/3 What if I told you the only castlevania games I played thoroughly were SoTN, Castlevania 2, and Kid Dracula?

i would say you have better taste then most of the people on this board
kid dracula kicks ass
