Japan only isn't really an issue since it's not region locked, so it's easy enough to import it.

I don't know how big the DX upgrade is, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did it like that new guilty gear update. You can either buy it as an upgrade for your exisiting copy of guilty gear revelator or as a physical new release that has everything included.

When I hear DX this is the first thing that comes to mind. I think almost all the DLC songs we got so far were from this one. I don't want to sound too hopeful but maybe they figured a deal out to get gumi in.
Japanese people are asking for the new content to be available as DLC so it is possible it has new content.

Can't say much about Madden but 2016 was the only year two new games released and between the vita releases none of them share any tracks. The one most people talk about now, Future Tone, was ported from arcade machines and has way more content than any of the other games.
As for the weekly Monday threads, that's just some sort of culture inherited from Sup Forums-/jp/ since 2012 or so. Goes without saying that it's fairly off-topic.

This is fairly normal when the thing is sustained by individuals instead of companies. Happens the same with the Free Software community. One day a talented person invents a revolutionary new file system, then the next day you heard he is in jail for murdering his wife.
Yeah but to me it's actually worse in this case. You see, back then the only thing fans knew about these producers was their account in a video hosted website niconico so if they didn't update new songs after a period we couldn't even know what happened to them, except when their families and friends confirmed the bad news.
What makes me sad the most is that these producers are fairly young people with a love for music and vocaloids, they aren't professional at the start. Thanks to vocaloid and nico the fans know their work and support them. These games imported to the state don't tell the whole stories behind how vocaloid fandom came to be.

Most of memorable songs (including the classics) were made by fans and watched freely on nico, not from contracts of corps or famous agencies.

Yeah, but SEGA needs to make a deal with each producer individually, so if they are doing the effort they should do a GOOD contract just ONCE, like: "I can use your song in perpetuity for all future games and you'll automatically receive a share with each new game.".
This way, SEGA won't have a problem with people disappearing or refusing later on.

You can easily buy the old Arcade version prior Future Tone from arcades. The problem is that cryptographic security of these machines are not that easily defeated.

Well it launches in november in japan and who knows if it will even come to the west. Actually nvm, it will come to the west but it will certainly be later than the JP release.
From what we know so far it comes with a better game at least.
It's not going to be released in the west until mid-2018 if ever so...

So, they were adding songs to Project DIVA Arcade at a rate of around 4 songs/month since 7 years ago... They stopped releasing new songs back in December... Does this mean we get 44 new songs?
Fun fact: Virtua Fighter engine is used for Future Tone so, in a way, Future Tone is the new Virtua Fighter.
