Makoto isn't real
No innovation or noticeable improvements from earlier games in the series. The same, tired plot and stereotypical characters. A combat system that has only gotten worse because Atlus has shoehorned it into almost every game since Nocturne, and it almost always fails. I assume the only people who honestly praise this game are trolling.
looking at the current Sup Forums it seems something did, as only things about this game are worthless shitposts about girls in it with nothing to do with game itself
Intentionally crippling the game for an excuse to release another version at a later date.
Haru requires a maxed stat in order to start her S-Link, when she already appears towards the end of the game. "Take your time" was a lie.
yes friend, I only play intelligent games such as nocturne myself
Are Nintenbros so insecure that they need a shitposting thread about this game daily?
I enjoyed playing it honestly.
Nothing it's fucking amazing.
That's cause this game has already been discussed to hell and back. Memes and waifuposting are the only things that show up nowadays
Nocturne is shit too, even worse than Persona 3 and 5. Don't associate me with Nocturnefags.
games been out for months now most played/enjoyed it and discussed it here and moved on.
>story has horrendous pacing
>story is repetitive
>characters are a step down from 4
>very little downtime given for the characters to develop
>twist is fucking shit
>dungeons are a chore, I swear even the randomly generated ones feel less boring than this
>every single enemy encounter plays out the same besides bosses
>social links still do not impact the story
>some characters are downright annoying
>vocals for some songs are weak as fuck
Quite a lot went wrong, they should really ditch the P4 formula the next game, it is already starting to get stale
I was really excited for it but i felt dissapointed and after beating it once i moved on and havent touched it ever since
>No innovation or noticeable improvements from earlier games
What is:
>Demon negotiating
>Firearms
>Social link abilities
>Stealth in dungeons
>More Velvet Room options
>90h visual novel
>15h actual gameplay
There is the problem.
>No innovation or noticeable improvements from earlier games in the series
Nigger the UI alone is a massive step up from previous games. Add on to that the fact that Social Links now have tangible benefits outside of making Persona Fusion stronger, and the QOL benefits those SL's provide, and P5 is a huge improvement.
Way too long, lack of compelling villains after Kamoshida
Rehash of P4 with bad pacing
Some really bad decisions like Ryuji's Instant Kill.
>demon negotiation
Still downgraded from P1 and P2, not even up to par with SMT IV.
>firearms
Downgraded from P1
>Social link abilities
Pointless and forced, they barely add anything to the gameplay
>stealth in dungeons
You mean run behind an enemy and attack them, same as in P4
>more velvet room options
Pointless when there's nothing to use your shiny persona on.
The UI is flashier, not better. Adding on "benefits" to social links just makes it more of a slog to go through the same repetitive one minute cutscenes over and over.
>The UI is flashier, not better.
No, fuck you. As someone with crippling RSI, Atlus taking the battle UI and assigning functions to each button instead of forcing me to scroll through commands is a godsend.
you should stay away of this series then...
>demon negotiation becomes worthless after early game and overall is watered down from all other SMT games
>firearms are OP because so many enemies are weak aganist them
>poorly balanced social link skills with some being game breaking and some absolutely worthless
>turns every battle an ambush fight which makes the game too easy
>they removed 3 persona fusion
I think the game is great overall but the game peaks way too early with Kamoshida.
The game is perfect
>better design
>better combat
>better waifus than the previous games
>they barely add anything to the gameplay
someone didint do kawakami, hifumi or get smoked
>press one button
>still brings up a menu that's completely jarring next to the rest of the UI
I don't understand. Isn't it just the same thing?
It's a great game, but it's still plagued by some of the problems of the previous games. (All though this game improves on a lot.)
It takes waaaay too long to get going. Party Members being introduced takes up too much of the plot; and when the main story does actually get going it's underwhelming. Character development is often reserved for optional confidants, meaning that what happens in them can have little impact on the greater whole. It also feels like there's more story interruptions than ever, but this is probably because there's just more to do now. Often when the game rips control from you it's annoying, because again, the main story isn't very good. Also the localization is straight up BAD at times.
Fantastic game, but not flawless.
>Playing SMT4:A
>They nerfed Demonee-ho hard
Fug
Futaba isn't real and isn't my girlfriend irl
It is like Atlus wanted to get more daring with the plot but pussied out multiple times through the game and decided to play it safe which left me with thsi kind of poorly presented clusterfuck. Still a 7/10 game but not even the best RPG released in the states this year
They really need to bring this shit back like P1/P2 where you get 90% of your party an hour into the game, only making a secret or story/bonus party member later into the game like Reiji, Jun, or Tatsuya.
It wasn't released on PC instead kek.
Thank god for that
I could only imagine the autism level of the fanbase if this game was normalized by let's players and twich streamers
This
>let's players and twich streamers
>being this retarded
No, because it's completely eliminating the main menu, which you needed to scroll through for every item that wasn't attack before.
>P4
>Cursor starts on attack (unless you have cursor memory on but that still has the same problems)
>Skill/Guard are +1 button press
>Tactics/Persona are +2
>Analysis/Item are +3 (though analysis was also on L1)
>Escape is +4
>P5
>Every command except escape is condensed into single button presses, it also has more commands that would have made a menu even more unwieldy
>Persona is merged into the skill menu through L1/R1, leaving it still the same amount of presses away
I'm not sure that you understand just how significant these simple reductions in necessary button presses are for someone like me, especially as you're making consistent savings every turn in every battle over a 100 hour game. Good menu design is something I'll always appreciate in video games, and Persona 5 is a significant improvement both visually and in usability.
Pancakes
Turn based
unlikeable characters
forgettable villain
predictable twists
all the music sounds the same
looked like a ps2 game
padded out with useless shit to make it artificially longer
ALLAHU AKBAR
>Not liking Turn based combat.
Are you 14 years old?
You are 14 years old if you do like turn based.
If they wanted people to save time they could have fucking reduced the size of mementos by half.
I can't even begin to imagine having opinions this poor.
>All those things they learnt in SMT4
>They decided not to use them in Persona 5
Fusing in Persona 5 was a fucking chore.
This mentality of "we need to keep giving you party members until the last 20% of the game" needs to stop. Imagine if the whole traitor subplot wasnt just swept under the rug and was actually just you know, someone you had the chance to know.
>Persona devs
>Learning anything
They've literally been rehashing games since Persona 3.
Nice completely detached argument, you fucking faggot. Mementos being too long has nothing to do with the significant improvements made to the battle UI.
roll
nothing. it was one of the best games released this year, along with NieR: Automota and Breath of the Wild
>hate tb comabt
>plays a 100+ hour tb jrp
retard?
I think they should have focused on making a better story and game instead of dolling up the UI to make fights 4-5 seconds shorter which is what like 20 minutes if you fight 1000 battles. That isnt a significant improvement for a 90 hour rpg. In fact I spent more time playing P5 than P4 even though I felt like the games had the same amount of content because of pointless shit like the extremely repetitive text messages and meme mentos. I only spent 65 hours on P4
REMOVE NAVIGATORS HOLY FUCK WHY DO THEY EXIST, A PARTY MEMBER WHO DOESN'T EVEN FIGHT
pls do not bully the tuba.
Having a constant voiceover in battles is so god damn annoying and one of the biggest fucking barriers to entry for me for this series. Not to mention the battle music doesnt change at all for the 100+ hours you play the game unlike in a Tales game where the battle music changes at certain points or even an Etrian Odyssey game
no pc release
And SMT4, a game made on a budget of some peanuts, cardboard cutouts of demons, and the useless checkbooks after the Voice Actors were paid, had 6 fucking normal battle themes, and EIGHT boss battle themes.
IT'S ALMOST SCARY HOW GOOD I AM
IT'S ALMOST SCARY HOW GOOD I AM
IT'S ALMOST SCARY HOW GOOD I AM
IT'S ALMOST SCARY HOW GOOD I AM
Nice completely detached argument, you fucking faggot. The story being weak has nothing to do with the significant improvements made to the battle UI.
But there aren't any, the graphics only make looking at the game an eyesore because everything is garish and disorganized until you get to an actual menu. Not to mention such a minor detail like UI doesn't save the rest of the game from being terrible.
it is so people will buy their overpriced DLCs to get a different battle themes
FUCKING THIS
They introduce Akeji into your party and literally 2 hours later he is the "traitor".
Had no impact at all, they should've kept him as a rival to joker who is still a good guy.
>Ignoring the fact you are saving maybe a half hour at best
>I'm not sure that you understand just how significant these simple reductions in necessary button presses are for someone like me
>Your main sell was "IT SAVES TIME" when they could have easily saved time elsewhere
That is literally your argument, that it saves time. even in the best case scenario where you are saving 10 seconds per fight at 1000 fights if you were somehow too retarded to navigate the menus of the previous games, you save like 2 or 3 hours, which is fucking nothing when mementos exists and could have saved a lot of players 5-10 hours OR MORE by being less of a fucking garbage location, making the sidequests not shit, not having lines upon lines of reptitive phone dialogue.
For my money 2-3 hours isnt a significant time save to the battle UI. They could have made combat faster in other ways, they could have made it so enemies didnt spend 5 seconds jacking off before attacks, they could have made the end battle screen faster, they could have made a way to speed up animations that didnt involve fucking automatically doing physical attacks and nothing else. Unfortunately those changes seem to be a bit much for a title they had 7 years to make. Maybe next game the UI changes will actually make a lick of difference when they decide to make a better game with actual gameplay improvements and not 60+ floors of boring bullshit encounters that you have seen 1-4 palaces ago to do sidequests to make up for the fact the UI saves you a few button presses.
My main argument was never that it saves time, you retard, though it does that too. I was arguing that it saves unnecessary button presses, which is a big deal for me because of my RSI. And once again, the improved battle UI has nothing to do with the game's flaws in other areas.
/pg/
Barely anything. Mostly the fanbase and some of the pants on head retarded complaints some people have.
And this
