Daily reminder

That Resident Evil 4 is one of the best games ever made at WORST.

Bump

There's a landscaper outside using a chainsaw as I'm posting this.

Incre

Massive fucking tits.

When a game's biggest flaw is that it's too long you know you've done something right.

you know your game is good when you spend 100m on it over more than half a decade

game stops being scary after the village

I see the president equipped his daughter with, ballistics too.

RE was never really scary.

Doesn't stop being a masterpiece/fun though

>fun with lots of replayability
>arguably saved a stagnating franchise
>was THE most influential game of the generation, even now people use mechanics introduced in this game
>full of memorable quotes

a true gem. I'd say in terms of how influential it was to all other game design, its modern equivalent is Demon's Souls. Think of all the "Soulslikes" games being made and how many games use its mechanics and variants of its combat now a days

what

Oh rlly?

Your right hand comes off?

>that first time entering the village trying to figure out what to do

Where's everyone going? Bingo?

What the fuck am I looking at? The only mod this gem needs is the Re4 HD project mod. Support those guys. They're doing gods work

The giant invisible mutant bugs in the sewers were waaay scarier

...

I thought the dogs in the maze were more freaky.

I would actually agree, even if it changed RE for almost a decade to the point that it ended up turning into a fucking Michael Bay type of videogame, RE4 is actually really fun and a great game.

>REmake>RE4

Daily reminder that RE4 is nothing but a dumbed-down cash grab.

daily reminder that "purists" will come and repeat this over and over for the rest of eternity

REmake is wonderful but if you don't see why the vast majority of people have fun with RE4, you're a fool

Currently waiting on the full HD mod release before my next play through. Doesn't look like it'll be long now.

...

>shoot enemy in the head
>kick them and somehow end up hitting the whole crowd surrounding them
>knife them while they're on the floor
>repeat, repeat, repeat

>throw a flashbang when a gooper appears for an instant kill

>press QTE button to not die

Great video game!!!!

Let me guess, you think souls games are actually good gameplay right?

>roll, roll, roll
>circle strafe until you can get a backstab
>use poison arrows on anything that won't walk to you in a straight line
>run past enemies who just give up on chasing you once you know where to go
trash game design

I'd say Batman also influenced a lot, Detective vision and it's combat is in everything nowadays.

This. Ukemi simulator. I tried, i really fucking did. Got Demon's Souls, got to the first boss and trashed him by running away like a bitch and poking all his guard boys till it was over. It was just tedious, ugly and boring, im not slogging through more hours of that shit just to say i did.
