How do we solve the problem of white male protoganists being forced incessantly in videogames?
How do we solve the problem of white male protoganists being forced incessantly in videogames?
How do we stop faggots from posting bait threads?
exterminate a large portion of white males, as they make up a majority of the target audience in the west. but that's a ridiculous proposition.
>bait
>you can literally see white protagonists being shoved in majority of games
We don't because it's not a problem.
WE
but white peeple r da majoritt
exactly. and you sell a product by appealing to the majority. so why are you making it seem like that's a faulty argument?
They're all so handsome!
darkies should make and fund their own games and not expect Whites to make games about them.
lol they aren't
gay white boi post
By not bothering, you fucking racist pig?
How come? Most of those characters are bland and forgettable. I want a cool protagonist.
There are plenty cool and memorable white man protagonists but most of them have no other traits than "white" and "man" because that's who the audience is, and that's a terrible way to design and write a character.
We don't. Devs are free to make whatever they want as the main character.
>but most of them have no other traits than "white" and "man"
So making them "black" , "woman" is any better ?
people want fresh and innovative things
ugly cardboard white males isn't that nor is wearing a fedora anymore
Largest consumer of games are in white majority countries, so it makes sense to make most characters white. Some of the characters are still shit as fuck but that's cuz they are shit characters. Same with the forced diversity (meaning black only) you see in games, you just know its forced because the character has nothing interesting going for them other than not being John Doe. Are there good diverse characters? Yes. Are there bad ones? Yes. But that all falls on the character itself, not what they look like. Don't be retarded.
t. Mixed race cunt
Yeah. If I have to choose between two bland personalities I'm going to choose the one that isn't completely overused to exhaustion.
i couldn't care less about the skin color of someone but i can't find any good black female protagonist
>transexual furry alien
i bet you like mass effect
is that a dare?
>lol they aren't
they purposely misspell words to devalue the argument. so unless this is some weird post-irony, then yes, this is them trying to make it seem like a faulty argument.
terrible way to write a character, but a great way to sell a product. especially because they see the face before they know the character.
>black woman is a personality
you fucking racist piece of shit
Clementine was pretty good, and she's from a very popular franchise too.
>zombie apocalypse from the perspective of white army man
>zombie apocalypse from the perspective of little black girl
Which do you feel would be fresh and likeable?
>clementine
>black
Alright if you say so she might be , but why are people , mainly AAA companies , making all black females the generic afro with big hoops type of character
Is there a single piece of evidence suggesting people actually buy games because "hey, there's a white man face on the cover and i am a white man :)"?
Without shitposting, I would like to point out that the race of the character should be determined by the society (or social class) you want to show and the gender of the character should be determined by the archetypal protagonist in whatever theme you're shooting for. If it's a story about a knight, the archetypal protagonist is male, if it's a story about love, the archetypal protagonist is female. You don't have to use the archetypal characters, but if you don't use them it will become the thing that sticks out in your story and your story will become a fish out of water type of story, which may be something you're going for, but only do that if that's what you want to do. Or you can write a story for a white male, cast random race/gender in it and never acknowledge race/gender making your story weaker because how deep can a character without gender really be.
