Superstar Saga Deluxe

What does Sup Forums think of this?

IMO, I think it'll be pretty good from what I've seen, but I am disappointed most of the enemies are going to have a less exaggerated, more modernized look.

Looks great to me

>less exaggerated, more modernized look
Nigga what the fuck are you on about
For one thing we've barely seen anything, especially of the characters that pull the most exaggerated expressions, for another did you SEE the Hoohooros fight in the Treehouse stream? Look at that motherfucker's angry expressions. And that was one of the least expressive bosses.

We could see shots of the opening sequence and it's clear from there. Also, the game uses Dream Team/Paper Jam's style and those sprites are generally less exaggerated than the other games (especially SSS).

I hope we can still take our passport photos and I hope there are nods to future games.

>one line from Fawful at the very end of his boss fight and one line about the Hooskis in Dream Team and that's pretty much it
Unless of course you expect some really forced jokes snuck into the dialogue somewhere like "You could fight these guys in your sleep, Luigi!" or "Cackletta's inside of Bowser? I can't imagine how weird that must be for the both of them!". Besides I'm pretty sure the script is unaltered from the original.

It's not likely, but I hope they add an end game to it. Somethings to do after beating everything

Passports are confirmed to be back, you can see them on the bottom screen when outside of battle.

I think it's going to be inferior to the original. The transition to 3D ruins the artstyle that the original went for, and the enemies are being changed into generic NSMB assets.
But the rabbid fanboys will defend this shit, as per usual.

>he thinks thats 3D

it'll most likely add a boss rush mode to play like the last titles, I hope they actually expand the arcade and add more minigames

Hard mode and a boss gauntlet with a bonus boss are the things I want.Mostly just the hard mode though

...

So who will be the secret boss at the end of the newly added boss rush mode, provided they add one.

...

They're fucking up the artstyle and it's on 3DS in 2017. This is my favorite M&L game by a wide margin but this remake looks so dull.

...

A super difficult Popple fight with Dry Bowser as the rookie

I'm figuring it will be Bowser & Bowser Jr. or the Wario Bros.
My basis for the former is that there is no "proper" fight against Bowser in the game, technically you can remove Bowser from the other fights (put Popple with Birdo and remove Bowletta like what happened with Bowser & Paper Bowser in Paper Jam) and a bonus boss focusing on Bro Attacks would probably be the best idea for a gimmick (since the Bro Attacks are exclusive to this game).
I also don't expect Bowser to be playable in "Bowser's Minions" (Junior might, but he would be coming out of nowhere since he doesn't even have an excuse like the Elite Trio, unless he has guards or something).

Actually it's a boss fight with Prince Peasley

>3D

A 3-phase fight against a Cackleta-possessed Prince Peasly culminating in beating an even more powerful Cackleta's Soul.

>no retort
>just "lol bait"
Looks like I was right, fanboy

I agree that it looks like shit, but you idiots constantly discredit yourselves by somehow thinking it's 3D when it obviously isn't.

I like how you conveniently ignored the posts calling you out for your retarded assumption that it's in 3D.

>Oho Jees have beaks
what the fuck

that user is a bufoon, but you have to admit the picture on the left looks 10 times better than the one on the right. Nintendo just can't into remakes.

Please let this be bait. They were so cute before

But he did?

Yeah it isn't 3D but it still looks awful, that's what I was saying.

Bring back the old cover guy

They're literally the same artist my dude

He's still around, just in the Spanish branch.
In all serious, that's usually how M&L covers looked in Japan. They just standardized them starting from Inside Story.

I wanna know why the American cover doesn't look like that too, as a nostalgic nod

Wait just a god damn second, do Luigi's pants actually fit in that picture? I always thought SS took place on laundry day and Luigi was wearing pants that didn't fit him as well.

man you kids are easy

...

I'm sorry Sup Forums, but since when do we care about remakes? And please don't respond with the "Sup Forums is not a hivemind" shit, the game is right there, very playable, not bugged in any matters and not obsolete in any gameplay or graphical matter.

Dosen't It bother any of you in the slightest that with the very same ressources made for this remake,a new game could of veen made?

On the subject of things not returning for the remake:

Yeah, that seems to be a change from the original artstyle: Luigi's pant-legs no longer reveal his socks.

>Dosen't It bother any of you in the slightest that with the very same ressources made for this remake,a new game could of veen made?
Well a number of these sprites will more than likely be taken from Dream Team (Overworld) and Paper Jam (Battle).
They also have that "Minion Quest" side-mode.

I'd rather have a remake of the old game that was good than a cut and dry generic by the numbers plot sequel with uninspired and annoying characters a la dream team and paper jam

>most of the enemies are going to have a less exaggerated, more modernized look.
I think this only applies for enemies that were variants of existing Mario species. We've seen other monsters and characters and they look exactly the same.

It didn't need a remake. It's still perfectly playable. The only thing that might interest me is the Bowser's Minions thing which looks sort of fun.

It'll be better than the last three installments of the series though.

I assume the remake is for all the Mario & Luigi games to be playable on the 3DS since SSS is currently the only one that isn't (although it is on the Wii U Virtual Console).

We need more CockSlutta porn.

I think that's they're reasoning yeah. Wait, is PiT playable on 3DS?
Anyway, I hope the series continues on the Switch sometime in the future. It was pretty good, but got stale in later installments. Going back to its roots in a Switch game would be very fun.

Which area are you most excited to see with the new god tier shading?

DS games can be played on a 3DS, yes.

I'm legit excited about the 2nd campaign to be honest.

Bowser's Castle. Can't wait for the song remix too

What

probably the most unnessecary remake of them all

What was wrong with the graphics in the first place? They're great just as they are. These weird new shading graphics from the 3DS games are terrible. Superstar Saga had the best graphics.

Probably a combination of updating the graphics, not needing to go back to one old, specific style and allowing for sprites from the previous 2 games to be recycled (which we'll definitely be seeing in "Bowser's Minions", and possibly the main game).

paper jam came out last year, I don't blame them for reusing their assets one last time before move to the switch or anything else, a new game would've taken longer than remaking SSS

I like how the entire right half is just generic Mario enemies and then you've got the left side which is a bunch of insane looking stuff.

They're supposed to represent the Koopa Troop, but they really should have put the Elite Trio or the Koopalings in there.
