Last time I checked the melee tournament scene is kind of self contained and people outside of that community generally ignore them. I think the pedestal you're building for meleefags is a tad high.

Again, I think you're building too high a pedestal. Using myself as a example, Smash pretty much sells itself through premise alone. Meleefag's support is appreciated, but I don't think it'd be a good idea in the long-run financially to make a league or whatever for a pro scene that has been the same group of people for years and is shrinking.
