After all these years I still don't get it. If synths are 100% indistinguishable from a normal human, all the way to the cellular level (excluding the two small mechanical parts used for the institute to give them orders) How the fuck can they live forever or not bread?

Because bethesda

because bread has a short shelf life

Better question: What was even the reason to build them?

They're supposed to be a reference to Replicents from Blade Runner right? Could they reproduce? It's been so long since I saw that movie.

>find out FO4 has synths in it
>nice
>play it
>they're bladerunner style

god damnit, all I wanted were mechanical people that were well made/written enough to still brings the question "what makes one human" to the table, despite them being actual metal.

Weren't they trying to make humans that weren't susceptible to radiation and other sicknesses?

But Nick and DiMA already fill that roll user.

That sounds incredibly dumb. Why not just build proper radiation cleanup equipment and disposal?

wait so why were they killing people and replacing them with synths
Like they could've just introduced them and nobody would've cared
why did they try to kill the MC even though he was vital to the plan
how are raiders able to hand build ak47's in mass quantity
If that brotherhood member was a synth the entire time, why aren't other synths able to infiltrate the air balloon and blow it up

Curie?

Curie was a fucking Miss Nanny you shove into a Synth Body and inexplicably acted like a person so Beth could pander to the waifu audience

In other words a piece of fucking shit

They try to make humans, but treat them as machines nonetheless?

yeah because they cancelled the cyborg project to improve real humans because hurrr durrr

>why aren't other synths able to infiltrate the air balloon and blow it up

>respected dude starts acting a bit odd
>people notice
>kill him because he is a synth

>how are raiders able to hand build ak47's in mass quantity
They actually have synths infiltrating rider factions everywhere. Not even joking.

Don't have an answer for the other questions.

they can just infiltrate it and suicide bomb it
Like aren't they meant to be expendable?

I guess but a suicide bomb wouldn't do that much to the airship unless you got some huge ass explosion

I'm sure if they can create synthetic gorillas they can build a synth with a mininuke shoved up its ass

The institute is full of social retards who have a romanticized view on all of their actions. That's their key flaw. No one would care about synths if they hadn't decided to murder all of the local leaders in a display of power.

>down to the molecular level
Damn, I didn't play Fallout 4, but this sounds mind-boggling stupid

how can humans turn into ghouls because of radiation?

>a mininuke
>blowing the prydwen up

Try more next time

>even paying the slightest attention to the writing works of Bethesda
lmao

slave labor

That's well within the constraints set by the game though.

I can't remember. Was it Shawn who decided to introduce synths this way or was it the cunt scientists that decided it?

How did a mutated blob manage to create better more intelligent super mutants then the supposed best and brightest of the institute?

But Gen 1 synths were good enough for that

After a certain mission the Prydwen is full of mininukes, just have to set a few off simultaneously.

Nick was created from a full brain scan, he's just a human that had his conscious downloaded into a machine, he's not a true AI.

I would merge my cells with Danse if you know what I mean.

I'm sure that a flying blimp full of other explosives wouldn't take too kindly to a nuke exploding inside of it

>Solve the railroad puzzle
>oh man, I can't wait to see this new faction
>they ended up being a bunch of special snowflakes
>kill them all without hesitation

thanks bethesda

I don't think that would be enough
Why else did the institute need Liberty Prime to take it down?

blimps are really shitty combat vehicles and fell out of favor for a reason

How would creating exact human replicas fix the radiation problem? Also it's a non issue when the latent FEV in the air is not gonna be blocked by radiation resistance.

Because the institute is retarded. The only thing preventing that blimp being shot down by a rocket launcher is plot armor.

Yeah i couldn't stand those idiots.

Since we're on the topic of synths. Pic related is actually a fucking synth. If you kill him you can recover synth parts from him.

the only good thing about the railroad is that one pistol you get from their quest
shit's fucking OP

REMOVE THIS!!!!

They say they are using hydrogen, I'm surprised the rampant energy weapon use hasn't killed them all already.

Deacon is pretty ok. Too bad he's ailed with them.

>there could be a synth in this thread recording methods for defeating the Brotherhood of steel for future use when fallout inevitably happens
OUT YOURSELF ROBOT, WE KNOW YOU ARE HERE

That was one of the best missions for the brotherhood, I felt no sympathy shoving my large powered armored fist down their synth loving asses.

The ballistic weave mod is better desu.

From what I read back when the game was new, NPCs will randomly be replaced by synths (AKA it's the same NPC they just put some parts in their inventories) so essentially every NPC could be a synth.

Fallout 4 is not a good game.

Just wait for the Railroad fag to fuck it then we'll kill them both.

FEV gave him super powers.

How would'vs pic related dealt with the institute?

>are you going to work for us?
>no
>kill them all

>bethesda took fallout and assumed it was a retelling of blade runner, but with a post apocalyptic setting
was basically the story i got

Probably would've incorporated them and backstabbed them later down the line

Well this sounds pretty creepy. Too bad i still felt more insecure in Big MT than in stupidly-cheerful Commonwealth

And this somehow means that a bunch of scientists with a fuck ton of resources would not be able to crack the super mutant intelligence problem. For fuck sake all their work yielded similar results to vault 87 and that was people throwing FEV at the wall to see what sticks.

Don't destroy it and merely hijack the place.

Fuck, that's what I would do. Those scientist obviously don't know fuck all what to do with all the cool shit they have and are completely incompetent.

>Enclave and Institute form an alliance
>your son is so confident in his new allies that he schedules a face to face meet up
>They assassinate him and take control of the institute, killing anything that won't side with them

Seriously after like 5 years of Enclave leadership they would have dominated everything with their near infinite supply of expendable soldiers.

If I remember right the explanation is that the more contaminated a person is the less intelligent the mutant will be, that's why people from vaults turned into smarter ones.

:(

>expecting intelligent and insightful writing out of Bethesda

Mistake number one.

Wait so that brotherhood lady with no legs is in power armor 24/7, right?
She must be costing the brotherhood an arm and a leg in fusion cores.

Reveal yourself synth!

Yeah and most of them are said to be pretty clean, just not enough to base synth dna off of, this is probably why the lead scientist didn't go crazy from becoming a super mutant.

It's a shame there wasn't a time when a suit of armor could run off it's cores for 200 years before needing a change.

Robots are already slave labor and they don't need to be humanoid. In fact, they work more efficiently when they aren't.

Nice.

Based on their previous actions in games, they would probably try to take the Institute out along with everyone else in the Commonwealth simultaneously. Fight a war on multiple fronts without the resources or power projection to do so. Then wait around for the plot armored protagonist to fuck their shit up.

Tfw we will never get a game where we can play as the Enclave or at the least support their faction.

Pretty sure fusion cores lasting twenty minutes is just gameplay 'balancing' nobody is too bothered about their suit's power level.

>the enclave will always be known as evil faceless enemies because one tribal fuck and a vault dweller mary sue said so

While we're at it, why don't we answer some of these questions as well?

I mean, they slaughtered people in vaults, killed kids, used people for experimenting bioweapons, genocided a sentient race and were planning to release a bioweapon to kill all impure people and I am only counting FO2

Did Ghouls just become Synths?

If they were smart like in fallout two they would keep quiet and stay on the sidelines. Maybe use the gunners to gather slaves in exchange for better equipment. And if anyone fucks with them send them a message. Only in 3 did they try to be stupid with their tactics, and they would have still won without the giant death robot interfering.

yeah but they look cool

Well they did the exact same in 3, but that's just because Bethesda doesn't know how to be original without stealing from other sources.

I almost forgot just how shit this game was

Ghouls not needing to eat or breath was one of the worst lore changes to date.

I didn't realize that a side effect of radiation was to make your textures blurry
war is hell

I think it was a glitch that was removed from newer version that caused those human-like synths to rebel

I didn't it, it was so shit I put 800 hours into Skyrim afterwards and gave Fallout 3 star stickers for trying with a written apology.

The questions about super mutants are stupid because Super Muntants are stupid. They probably don't even know why they want bottle caps. They just know that Humans like having a lot of them and want it for themselves.

They say they hate 'weak' humans but they sure are interested in the things we like and our behavior. They use typical 5 year old logic.

>Making sense of Bethesda's writing

Slamming your head against a concrete wall would be more stimulating.

Why did the Institute need synths for spying when it was explained every merchant in the commonwealth was an informant for them.

why did the institute even give a fuck about the wasteland

>Bawww I couldn't join the most raciest faction in Fallout and murder everything not like me in the wastland.
I guess no thread escapes Sup Forums cancer anymore.

you can join the brotherhood though

>Making it about Sup Forums
Nigga people wanted to be in Enclave since they first appeared in Fallout 2.

>because Super Muntants are stupid
Then who is their leader?

Yeah, I never understood that because the Brotherhood hated the Enclave in the other games.

>enclave
>racist
Ghouls are ticking timebombs that go crazy after enough time, And super mutants tried to genocide everyone that wasn't them, I don't see how they deserve anything other than a bullet to the head.

are you sure it wasn't about the East Coast Super Mutants?

By the way, how did Vault-Tec acquire FEV?

How did the institute get it?

Didn't one of the higher ups respond to a tweet with something like "It's a video game, who cares?"
that essentially sums up modern fallout lore

The Enclave was not about self preservation, they were about being punting humanity on a fucking pedestal and acting like being human makes you a special snowflake when it was humans who made mutants and ghouls in the fist place.

He wouldn't even be able to fill out the captcha you dumb dumb

some guy traveled to the D.C. area and took some samples

that is their only in-game explanation and it's brief.

What part of my post implied it was about self preservation, I was explaining how the mutants are filth that need to be cleansed. And any of the humans that created mutants need a bullet as well.

I hate this game, yet I can't play anything else. It spoiled me mechanically to where I just can't go back to NV or 3. I hope mods get better as time goes on so that I at least will have an enjoyable ride to hell.
