1993-1998

1994 to 1996

1998. That was the year I was born

1987-2007

But you would barely remember 2000-2003

You would remember more of mid 2000s(2004-2006)

I was born in 1950 but I self identify as an early 00s kid

1996, first home console was ps2.

If you werent a teenager doing chores for the new kickass Microsoft playstation killer then your are not a early 2000s kid.

By "kid" I mean actual child, as in ages 5/6-10 or so. Teens aren't children, even if they act like it.

I was born in 1999 and I remember stuff from roughly 2003 onward 4th birthday was Spiderman themed it kicked ass

1991-1996

1992 here. got a gamecube for christmas in 5th grade. god i miss being a kid.

I was born in '94.
I got a SNES when I was 4, an N64 when I was 6, and we got a Game Cube when I was 8 in 2002. I have a pretty clear memory of most of my life from about 2001 on, so I guess I'd qualify.

I remember going into Future Shop in 2001 and playing the Luigi's Mansion demo in store and it blowing my mind. My favourite game at that point in time was Banjo Kazooie, and the leap in graphics was amazing.

96, played all three of those.

1994 masterace.

1994-1996

But oddly, I see a lot of people born in 2000 on Facebook and Youtube calling themselves early 2000s kids (usually on the comments to early 2000s songs). Despite them not remembering a single lick of 2000-2003.

Bump

>bumping this shit thread
sage

96 here too those consoles were the shit when I recall "being a kid"
Though my first console was a 64

>another shitty generation "master race" thread
I'm a 98 baby and don't give two shits, people from every generation are pieces of shit and I hope wall catch cancer and die

As long as you listened to All Star as a kid, whether from Shrek, Rat Race, the Digimon Movie, or as the first track on the first Kidz Bop cd.

Kid encompasses children and teenagers.

You have to be old enough to have seen Star Wars Episode 1 as a kid

1993-1997

Year doesn't matter, what does matter is that you have a pair of purple Moon Shoes sitting somewhere in your parent's garage

2007 was when everything got fucked up because of social media exploding, the Big Bang Theory, iPhones, Recession, etc

'95. Parents played NES a ton, so I plays SMB and Duck Hunt (With the gun) when I was about 3 years old. I've also been lurking Sup Forums since 2008, so in other words I was destined to be Otaku and it's a wonder I'm not.

My first home console was a sega genesis but the first one my family ever bought was a silver Gamecube. I still have it. I was born in 1996.

Music is different. For example, I was '95 but can recite tubthumping by chumbawumba better than most songs from modern day.

I'd say 1990-1997
you're still a kid when you're 11 and 12, you know

But even on videos that are about things like early 2000s toys or shows, there are thousands of people saying "I was born in 2002 and i'm such an early 2000s kid, I know ALL [insert things mentioned in the video]"

>When I literally just got done listening to All Star
Now I'm listening to this big boys
youtube.com/watch?v=E1fzJ_AYajA

Yeah but those kids are faggots in the making.
"OMG I've been listening to Queen since I was 4! That's like 3 years! Who's here in 2017?" I've learned to ignore that bullshit.

...

>Born 1996
>tfw family was too poor to afford these consoles
>grew up on playing 5th gen consoles
>Playing crash and Driver on ps1
> playing mario 64 and zelda OoT
>Playing pokemon red on my used gameboy color while the other kids were playing faggot ass ruby on their sp

I agree, I wish there was a way to close off Redditors, post-2009 Youtubers, 9gag, Unilad, Buzzfeed, etc. from the Internet forever. Normies pollute the internet with their widespread-yet-shit opinions.

>but you would barely remember 2000-2003
I vividly remember stuff from when I was as young as 4. I was playing vidya then too.

Guess I was poor too, even though I didn't know it, I was born in 95 and games like crash and pokemon blue/yellow on my gameboy gray shaped my childhood. Better pump your brakes kid.

>only having nintendo growing up

Unfortunately there will never will be, the internet is made for normies.
My sister (14) watches a ton of minecraft let's plays as well as other games. I bite my tongue when it comes to the content she's watching, but I've told her in more eloquent words to "Lurk more" before posting.
Shit she's probably on Sup Forums as we speak.

>all these faggots born in the mid-late 90's itt

Makes me feel awful for still posting on Sup Forums being born in 89. Still though at least some of you may still have a sense of what quality games should be like. Any kid born in 99 and later is going to almost surely have shit taste in gaming.

i wish i was a kid

People that look deeply into the medium will always gravitate towards quality games just like those that deeply appreciate cinema always see the classics. Normalfags will have the same shit taste as always, just with a newer, shinier coat of paint.

No the problem is that the years in the current millennium we are in has created narcissistic jackasses with extremely shit taste and entitlement issues. So it isn't very likely most people born in the 2000's will ever have good taste.

You're being retarded, "most" people have never had good taste. Plenty of people dislike social media shit and general e-faggotry, people aren't defined by their generation.

>people aren't defined by their generation.

Yes they are.

You are seriously jaded and foolish if you think all kids born post-2000 will be the same. There have always been and always will be those truly dedicated to the medium and there will always be outcasts.

my sister got a bottle of that shit on our gamecube controller and fucked up the left analog. that was back in '03, i was 5

holy shit i thought that was that liquid candy shit for a second. definitely did not get colored ketchup on the controller

You aren't fucking getting it. A kid born post-2000 didn't get to experience gaming through the 90's and witness the industry changes that came.

Playing video games on emulators is not the same thing as having experienced it all and growing up with it.

The way I see it I basically grew up and experienced gamings revival after the crash. So even though NES is older than I am I still got to play everything from NES to now AND grow up around this stuff.

So yes whether you think it is arrogant of me to say it or not I don't give a fuck because it is the truth. A guy like me is far more liking to appreciate gaming from my time then some teenage faggot playing it for 5 minutes on an emulator.

I played on actual hardware for consoles such as NES and Turbografx. A console most shit stains born in 2000 likely never heard of.

Got it
